  • I was asked to show the assembly of my new XTool D1 pro 20 watt. Here it is along with a few recommendations for the assembly that are not in the manual.

Thank you for all the efforts you go through to show us new to the laser community, as specially the assembly of Xtool D1.

Just now had time to put my d 1 pro together. Have been building a rolling cabinet enclosure for it, the top patterned after your enclosure. I watched this video and assembled my Pro step by step just as you went through it. Thank you so much for making this video for us in the field. I never had to open the instruction book....you know how men are with instructions!!. I will be watching your next video on configuring it. Thank you again. You Rock!!!

Thanks for all of your videos. I successfully put my D1 pro 10w together yesterday, and my first test burn was a success 🙌. I will keep watching and learning!

I did the same thing with the manuals. I was like "Uh... this isn't enough information" before I realized it was the wrong guide. The Quick Start Guide is actually really well made and the illustrations are fantastic. Was easier to put together than my Creality Ender 3D printer for sure. You can tuck the included screwdriver into one of the rails behind the wire and it will operate without it getting in the way so you always have a nice little driver on hand to tension belts.

Thank you for sharing this. The way you prepare the timing belts first plus the hint on the view through the gap of the coupling before pulling tight these screws made all the difference for me. Now I get clean results. No more wobbling, no more unwanted lines. Just as clean as you would expect it. I love it. BTW I am on the 10w. Maybe you should even repurpose just that part of your great assembly video and give it a title related to the problem/the bad result so people can find it from that direction. I bet you would get a lot of views for that short one and it would help your channel like you help us. Thanks again. Keep going. I wish you lot's of success.

Thanks for this video. I followed this step by step as I put my xtool together. Those white connectors were indeed a huge pain to put in. Your idea to use the calipers to make sure the belts were in sync was very helpful (I also learned how to use calipers). I ran into an issue trying to connect the air assist nozzle to the laser. It wouldn't seem to lock into the threads. Luckily there were instructions in the back of the guide showing how to take off the laser tip to clean it. So I took the laser tip out, connected the air assist, then reconnected it. I did some initial burn tests and things are looking good! Thanks

Thank you for sharing..lol I have tiny fingers and the worst part of the assembly was the color coded plugs took me forever to attach them.

Thank you so much. I have the D1 I got in March but it is still in the box. Feeling a little more comfortable in putting it together. Just sure where I'm going to keep it. I don't have any heat in my work shed and it get pretty cold here in Canada in the winter. Thanks again

The supplied screwdriver is magnatized, it was great for picking and sorting the screws. I know that's Johnny come late info, but for any newbees it might help, worked for me. I just upgrade from 5 watt to 10 watt pro.

Thanks for posting about the belt tensioner’s! I checked mine and I was off by about an eighth of an inch from the other side

Thanks for the informative video. One thing, when you push the gantry all the way forward, the right side hits a portion of the motherboard. This caused a slight difference between the two sides. I went back and loosened the one side of coupler and readjusted with a ruler. Have not turned on machine yet.

Thank you for all the great info! The enclosure build used to be in Etsy store, but don’t see it anymore? Is there somewhere else we could get it?

GREAT, David! Now, lemme "axe" you a question. Will you give me/us an avenue whereby we can PAY you for the design for your next enclosure? I bought the xTool enclosure for my D1, but I really like the way yours works. Too, I model a lot of what I do after how you do things, so I'd like to have as much uniformity as possible.
