I don't even have stairs in my home and watch this because I enjoy learning it and Shannon you make it very relaxing to watch as I'm laying in bed at night! For other projects I re-watch your videos all of the time and it's helped me Tiling, grouting, electrical, mixing.
After watching all Shannon’s videos, I built a 6,000sqft house and now 2 years later I can finally put rails and balusters on my stairs. I really hope he makes a video on connecting to the sewer soon…
I just helped a friend do something very similar about 3 months ago. After Shannon's vid here, I think I want to do them in my house now. Soon as I finish, I'll start working on building the stairs and a second story. Thanks, bud.
I love your videos. You're always so detailed. I own my own remodeling business and have been doing it for years. However you can always learn little tricks and things from watching other people work. I like to be able to continue to learn. Even if it's just a little trick to make something go faster or easier.
I watched 2 or 3 of your videos before and I just seen this one and thought “I need to subscribe to this beast” But I’m late.. 722k people already knew
I followed this railing install from the beginning. You included a lot of good tips especially on the rail and post installation and I will refer back to it on a future project of mine. Thanks.
Hey there. Great demo thanks for sharing. My staircase is basically the exact same layout. As well I am using what look like the same balusters. As well I am choosing to alter the pattern and only do the square baluster every other step going down the stairs. It looked like you guys did something similar with the straight balusters. I was hoping to see another video from you guys about the stair baluster install as I'm pretty sure i cant alter the pattern going down without needing to customize some of the balusters by cutting them down to size to match the other lengths. Hope you understand what I'm explaining about the mixed lengths of balusters. Either way would love to see another video regarding the install of the staircase bottom newel post and the angled top balusters. Thanks again for the demo and tips. Great help
These were from my local Lowes .www.lowes.ca/product/stair-balusters/square-0375-in-x-35875-in-and-0375-in-x-39625-in-matte-black-wrought-iron-creative-stair-baluster-700695
So Shannon, how did you go about getting the baluster spacing dialed in whilst alternating styles like that? I’m doing something similar this week and even with online calculators, the differences in widths is messing up my gap spaces!
Great content! I clicked on the link to find these balusters - they are perfect for my project. However, I can not seem to find the rectangular balusters with the attached end screw plates. Everything I find requires a shoe. Can you tell me where you bought these exactly?
Best educational video series on railing on You Tube by far. Thank you, Shannon!

This does not have balusters going down the stair case. There are walls on each side of this staircase.
Well explained,great job!
Hi Shannon, great video! I was gonna ask where you got the balusters. I saw it in your earlier reply. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
loos great! as always!
Very nice job 👍
Looks good!
You're a better carpenter than I. 😛
Great video, I do not see the balusters brackets on the Amazon link.
Great video! Can you please also share the link for the level shoes?
Art work!
If you had a predrilled board that fit the bottom you could go straight up to the top and not measure or tape the top to drill
Hi , great video . I clicked your link to the baluster it doesn’t take me to the same balusters you using . Can you pls send me which one you used

Hi Shannon, thank you for this video. Where can I get the rail and balusters?
I purchased these at my local Lowes.

Hey Shannon, where did you find balusters that have integrated shoes? looking for the ones you are using and cannot find them. Thanks!
These were from Lowes in Canada at the time of the video.
Where can I find these balusters, do they no longer sell them in Lowe’s?
search "Concept SGA blackwrought iron" they are still available in my Canadian Lowes store.
Where can I find those style balusters? I like the option to screw on without a separate piece.

You couldalways cut a story stick the same span and lay them out, mark it and transfer.

I read Iron Ballbusters...
Hah! Me too...
Math 😆 🤔 🤕
Wow.. I'm about to unsub too many ads in these little videos! Just got use to how slow you talk!
Run the video speed at 1.5x speed. I'm still very easy to understand at that speed
I dont like iron balusters. They are typical in europe.
