No body….absolutely no fuckin body sounded like these two. I remember. It was 1996 & they came outta nowhere with their own style swag lingo & everything else & still put out today. They got new shit that’s still on that camp-lo shit.
The whole Uptown Saturday Night album to include the album cover!! Their style put them on a level all their own. I miss real hip hop with real creativity!! Refreshing to see the respect and love you show for real Hip Hop artists like Camp Lo with true talent.
@@sidneygwaltney9931 Blend into? They released their first single back in 1996, they were among the GOATs of 90s Hip Hop and remain one of the GOATs of Hip Hop in general
And let's not forget to compliment these REAL beautiful teeth these gentlemen have! No veneers, ect. People were more real in general during this time!!! 🤗
“Now pop the cork and steam the Vega and get lit what” I really dig this line, their back and forth flow and personality is infectious. Cool to see younger generations appreciating all eras of music. 🥂🍾
The coolest thing about 90's era rap is that each artist had their own sound and no one crossed it. If they tried they were labeled as "Biters" and shunned appropriately.
I'm 38 now. I used to listen to this album all the time. I never knew wtf they were talking about though . Like ?cabridi?scarf around my neck little red Corvett. I googled cabridi scarf. No results .
"No one wanna hear that crap man" Shawny your so funny 🤣 🤣🤣 Rappers would spit lyrics that you could understand and vibe to back in the day! The beats were hard too! Being a teenager in the 80s and 90s was beautiful! 💯
This came out in 97 and as much as I love Jay-Z he took his early flow a lot from Sunni Chiba he's the one with the toothpick and deeper voice they had the same producer starting out 💯
Receipts please 😂. As someone who was around back then and was feeling both Jay and Camp Lo 1. Their styles were nothing alike. Jays lyrics and wordplay was more measured and crisper, had more double entendres and metaphors and was less ethereal and time period based. 2. The only similarities was the fact both Camp Lo and Jay represented themselves as a “higher class” of cat. Luxury, leather seats, champagne, furs etc. Their lyrical content wasn’t similar, all of them were/are talented but from Jays first album you could tell he was different different talent wise. I think it was weak that they were compared to each other because it cost us a collab since they had to beef because being compared to someone else back then was fightin words 😅
I love your video selection! 🙌🏾🔥🔥 You react to a lot of tracks most ppl don't, I guess depending on their audience. You react to all the bangers that were knocking in the 90's. Respect young king! FYI: The track switch at the end (which was common in 90's and early 2000's videos) was a song off the their album that featured the guy rappin at the end, who is Buttterfly from the group Digable Planets. He has a son with Coko, the lead singer from SWV.
So u know they’re from the Bronx right where I’m from so this had us jumping back in the day...to b honest this gets play to this day..Big Props Shawny 💯💪🏾
Had the original album. Have it on UA-cam and Spotify. This is still my all time favorite group and this is still my favorite song. They inspired Jay-Z.
Thank you for sharing and acknowledging that this is real hip hop. They from Harlem Ny and this came out in 1997. Geechi suede and sonny cheeba. Are the emcees . U have to check out Coolie High on the same album
*This was a single back in 1996 actually, on the "Great White Hype" OST. Their first album on Profile Records (now defunct), featured this song again, on "Uptown Saturday Night". I've been a Camp Lo aficionado for years, so if you ever need any history on them, hit me up. Peace and blessings, bro!* 😉
I salute you young King you know music, good music at that back in that time you had to have skills and being from NYC we was on the top of the food chain with our rappers. All our rappers was very different and unique but they was so dope! Respect homie
Wow I just suggested this one to another channel I never thought anyone would have a reaction to one of my favorite tracks from my childhood I figured let me just search and see if anyone ever reacted I wasn’t expecting to find anything I’m subbing asap because I know for a fact this was suggested to you. Had to be. And you responded. That’s love. I’m so hyped for this!
Saw nobody really answered where they're from. Bronx cats. Put out some projects with Pete Rock that are straight fire. Side note, most of the original beats for this album were taken by Jay-Z for Reasonable Doubt
Luchini AKA This Is It by Camp Lo is an undeniable classic. I can bump this joint forever. True Hip Hop will always be timeless.

The cat with mask near the end is Butterfly from another dope NY group, Digable Planets.
Love this song!
Lolll no one ever knew what they were talkin bout.... But they sounded good!
I knew and all hip hop heads knew. To this day the lyrics fly over heads unless you know the black 70's
