OMG, That right there is one hell of a day!!!!!!!! Definitely in the right direction. If anyone can figure it out, its you B. Standing by for the journey.BG4L
Awesome video man In the 2 or so years iv been watching we get a Big B face reveal I remember the median of my first boat, it never even crossed my mind that it would flip in the water and I would have to go get it 1 200 meter swim later, I had my boat and ordered a recovery boat lol Let's just say, the wife laughed when I told her the boat fliped but didn't laugh so much when I told her I had to order another boat lol
Big B , you are resilient ! Hard labor , today . This boat probably needs an ocean to run in - not a pond ! I am sure you will break through to success . Looking forward to your next adventures . 👏👏
That was entertaining, and I like your positive attitude. One time we were driving a Losi LST on the frozen pond, and it broke through and got stuck. I couldn't walk on thin ice, so I got on a kayak and "scooched" out there and back. We usually just take a row boat to get them if the boats quit, had to do it twice last weekend, one flipped over (blackjack 42) and one the collet came loose on the cable (sonicwake V2), I think the collet is getting wore out.
Swamp Man! Those drives seem like a pain. I'd say 1/5 scale servo or fill those holes in the back and put a couple of stingers and a rudder on it. #BG4L
This is the best video ever Big Bro! This point you want to put some Tamaya 380 size motors in there and call it a rap. Much love bro. Boat gang for life oh and for the swamp!
Also, listening to it and watching the drives, it looks like you let off the throttle right as you were turning, and then you center the drives, and it just continued. Is there a way to set your controller to always have some thrust even if you let off the gas? Also. I think you need to run it at a much much bigger spot, I think it's too confining to run it. Like a jetski in a swimming pool.
The beard makes you look like Grizzly Adams 😂. Top video though dude, 45 years ago I had a ic boat runaway it landed about a mile away the other side of the lake after tracking it down about an hour later , I had to get over a fence , I was sweating like a pig so I wiped the sweat out of my eyes with my bare hand , the same hand I used to climb over the fence with only to discover the fence was electric!! Any way the punch the fence gave me recharged me enough to face the long walk back with the offending boat under my arm!!
Damn bro! Sorry bout ur luck on that one!! It deff liked it going up with the drives. Need to crank ur rates back up, radio first and if thats not enough then back out one hole on the servo horn. Damn boy u got ur hand full!! 😂 I once went swimming for my miss geico 36 in January before i knew my real need for a recovery boat. Thought i was gonna die before i even made it to the boat. Flipped her back over and used it as a pfd!! Scary shiii!! Not worth it!!😅 Anyway good luck brother, we're all watching😮👍
Gonna have to get that boat in a big open spot lol, I think it’s just too big. But looks like you’re going in the right direction man. Cant wait to see you figure this thing out, it’s a fuggin monster of a boat
Man.... the adventures of Big B been wild lately lol. Ive had a few crazy ones ..hell the wife went swimming last month to get my impulse and my blackjack back 😆 they were stuck together like two dogs .. got to love these boats
Wow this video was intense to watch.. Tracking elusive game 😂😂😂! Arnesons are known for being horrible at "docking"... But that's on another level Thats some MacGyver stuff buddy! Props could work as a machete if it ever happens again 😂👌 Love this video!!!
Scary retrieval. Thats when you wish ya had reverse. I didnt do anything like that yet but i dont like to run when there's 20 mph offshore wind. Love the shot of the props.
Hey Big B, I would be trying without out the turn fins. If the back is digging, the drives digging and steering with the fins locked and parallel to each other, it is like a channel. Feel me? I would give it a go just to see. I got boats with no fins, and they run pretty well. I'm glad the boat has survived 👍 We tilt the fins to lift them and dig when we turn. We are all trying to figure this out🤔😂 With the power and steering on the drives, I feel that they need to keep moving all the time. BGFL👍👍🤙
I second this recommendation. Remove both or at least one of the turn fins. If you’ve ever ridden a jet ski, the maneuvering of this boat should be just as difficult. It’ll take some getting used to. Heck of a learning curve.
I thought I had it bad when I launched a freshly rebuilt 6s Kraton into a creek during the floods. But, you got me beat bro. Flip flops in the swap with all the stuff that wants to eat you? Hell no. I was chest deep in a stiff current using a tree branch to stabilize myself and after 10 min I found it with my feet. Dried it out lubed it and it runs great
Big B good recovery despite losing your hiking 🥾 flip flops 🩴 🤔 A snake bite kit is nice too have along. When the boat turns it turns, but when it doesn’t turn it doesn’t turn. 😤 My recovery story consists of slipping in the snow and cracking some ribs, blowing up the raft and rowing 🚣 was no longer “fun” so during my 2 weeks off from work I ordered the Harbor Tug 30 and never looked back ! 😂😂😂😊
Been thinking about this way too much. Haha. I’d suggest you get a matched set of cnc props to ensure there is no irregularities between “tweaked” props. Also, think this boat should also be run only at the speed run spot. Surface drives are happiest when going straight, as you know. If you wanted to do something really crazy, you could try to do a mix in that fancy radio of yours that would apply a little extra throttle to one prop based on steering input, that might help it push around a corner better.
I'm just thankful that you didn't meetup with any poisonous critters while you were brush hopping to get to your boat! I appreciate the rear facing footage of the props Big B! Very interesting... I don't "yet" have such a story to tell, but I know my day is coming! Thanks for all you do for our hobby Big B, you make it so much more than it would be without you my friend! BG4L!
Another great video. I may have missed this in another video, but how did you lock in the new driveshaft to prevent it from twisting out again? Lock-tight?
Hay Big bee I got a question for you. I ordered a shrimp boat outrigger from China. I got just the haul. Where can I get the hardware kit for it rudder prop stuffing tube and shaft. Do you have any suppliers ..😊 please help me could you. Your the pro...
Bro I nearly died trying to recover a 17 inch twin cat from proboat.were I live in Australia we have these man made ponds I would call them.they r basically Storm water run-off and r about 4.5 deep.but under the water is mud sludge sticks branches nasty stuff.my boat just stopped about 30 feet out.i wasn't leaving without my battery and reciever.i walked out up to my waste and something told me if I didn't get out now I was going to drown.i turned around soaked in mud and sat on the bank and processed that I nearly just died.i sat there for about 20 minutes watching the boat get closer and closer until it worked again.i grabbed it and jumped in my car and went home and said a little prair to God for not letting me drown.
I had to swim lots of times. Shit my 1st experience of putting a boat together ended in flames. I had no idea, I like learning by failing, you learn quick what not to do. Lol. Actually I prefer not to fail. But I think my favorite unexpected swim was my bday this year, prop shaft broke on its maiden, really far out and it was cold. Tg the water was warm. I don't go without my kayak, rubber raft I won on macbids for a buck, or a 9 foot Jon boat. Also have my rc pick up boat. But the actual boat is best, rubber boat is my go to as I can take it in any car.
I lost my 32" Impulse Pro Boat in the weeds had to go to Dunham's Sports bought a inflatable 2 man $50 raft to get the Boat ! still got the 2 Man Raft.
I still say reverse the props. When it leans into a turn the thrust coming off the outboard side of the prop is lifting the drives/rudder out of the water, prop bits in and prop walks. In this case pulling the stern out to the right.
I once tried to swim out to recover my aquacraft ul1 and had to turn back half way out, I just about drowned my self, the last 20ft back was a real struggle, I let myself sink to the bottom and pushed off towards the shore. I was afraid for you Big B, I know the gators are few and far between, but they are there, thats not the kind of viral video we want to see, keep safe, maybe a small boat and e trolling motor. 👍 Otherwise working out this boats gremlins has become terrible, it’s like a beautiful woman with issues 🤣😂😆, maybe that’s why we refer to them as “she” she’s a beauty but oh the ride attitude. I’ll stop. We know you will get her straight. BGFL
I've got stories but non come close to what you just went through and I'd be embarrassed to tell because they just couldn't be in the same category as that rescue. You were lucky there wasn't an alligator in there. You need to name that boat the awnry bitch. Glad you got it back and your alright.
I just watched the last few seconds again, I wonder if reversing the motor rotation would help, of course that means a prop swap but it’s worth a try. BGFL
From my perspective it appears the left drive seems to be a little bit longer than the right, probably just the camera angle but I thought I’d mention it just incase.
Lost my boat had to retrieve it in an impossible spot. And got really bad poison ivy. Never will go back to that spot. Took forever to clear up. Bad day at the lake!!
"It wont turn unless under power" idle the drives then ? Make your return on trigger very minor power so they dont stop spinning when you off the power
Hey man not sure why u can't get the stingers to set in a slightest positive position, im sure you've probbaly figured it out by now, but thats what it needs to totally get rid of that nose causing it to dig & turn by itself.🙂🤙
Big B needs a recovery 4x4! Or heli! 😆. Sorry B. Just had to. It’s reacting like a seadoo. If no power is on, turning ability is greatly reduced because there is hardly any rudder in the water and this style of thrust relies on “thrust vectoring” to turn.
OMG, best video ever, been there done that, not quite as extreme. Way too many creatures in those bushes for me. There is a place I run my boats where if it goes on the other shore, I will not get it back.. love it great job that boat is wild
It's not that the servo lacks strength. You didn't understand the characteristics because you were new to Vector Trust. It will feel bigger when you experience the water jet. That's how most boats without rudder move. Wire-type ruther is difficult to set. I always use a spring. Watch out for alligators
@ oh I see !!! That’s what I use !!! I take an inflatable row boat . I bring a little pump that’s electric and it blows up in seconds . I need a little tug to , so I agree having both would be the ticket !!!!
Well I see you couldn't turn doesn't really make sense except for the fact that you cut the turn right down by going inward towards your servo Go back out on the arms to get more turning leave the trim the way it is
Big B now stands for Big Bear in the woods! I’m glad you were able to recover that bad boy!
OMG, That right there is one hell of a day!!!!!!!! Definitely in the right direction. If anyone can figure it out, its you B. Standing by for the journey.BG4L

I wanna run the 48 with it!

The adventures of big B and his nearly lost boat in a big scary swamp

Good rescue!😂 All of us who ride RC boats have had to do the Rambo
Another great video. I may have missed this in another video, but how did you lock in the new driveshaft to prevent it from twisting out again? Lock-tight?
he pinned it, he made a video
Think 🤔 he drilled a hole 🕳 and used a pin.
4:59 it sounds like it’s gonna be a beast
Way to stick with it Big B 💯👍
Im buying a aeromarine 40" fiberglass tunnel hull on friday, what brushless outboard system would you recommend?
Hay Big bee I got a question for you. I ordered a shrimp boat outrigger from China. I got just the haul. Where can I get the hardware kit for it rudder prop stuffing tube and shaft. Do you have any suppliers ..😊 please help me could you. Your the pro...
This is the only boat I've ever seen you rest gently into the water. Lol

THE RUDDERS ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE AMOUNT OF TRUST THE PROPS ARE MAKING REMEMBER THEY ARE NOT BEHIND THE PROPS

CG %100 to the rear! All the weight to the rear.
Good job you had your safety beard on... God knows what could have happened if not
are you running the props turning inwards or turning outwards
Outward for the time being
Man you got that spectrum glitch time for a new radio
It looks beautiful still
Just an idea,trim tabs ?
Best rooster tail ever
I just watched the last few seconds again, I wonder if reversing the motor rotation would help, of course that means a prop swap but it’s worth a try. BGFL
All shaft wire collets, as well as propellers, need to be replaced.
Of course, I'd like to recommend that method as well.
Gyro?
NEUTRAL OR POSITIVE ON DRIVES BATTERIES TO THE BACK SIDES....TOE IN ON DRIVES OR TOE OUT TRY BOTH
I had a esc fire in my sonic wake my mate jumped in and saved it… I’m forever in his debt 😂
I cought that what a day nod to nonpoint
Been there done that.. lost 3 boats 2 sank and 1 just floated away in a big lake
Take a good brushless servo for that big boat.
That boat is cursed!!!
Mama said there would be days like this.
3:19 never seen u set a boat in the water so gently before lol! Sucks u had to go after twice. Try using the steering expo maybe??
If I could suggest angling your drives inboard in small increments, I'm kinda thinking it's acting like toe in toe out on rc cars, worth a try.
"It wont turn unless under power" idle the drives then ? Make your return on trigger very minor power so they dont stop spinning when you off the power

B. Think u will need a small boat for those recoveries
He had them !!!
@ not the tug! One he can row with!
@ oh I see !!! That’s what I use !!! I take an inflatable row boat . I bring a little pump that’s electric and it blows up in seconds . I need a little tug to , so I agree having both would be the ticket !!!!
I'm waiting for a net from Amazon to recover my UL 19 from the bottom of the river I hope I find it
I like bright colored boats. Easier to see.
Vc esta parendo eu com as q eu invento aq no brasil 😂😂
The steering seems a bit sensetive so try a steering expo
TO RETREVE MY BOAT ONCE I HAD TO PULL IT OUT OF MY ARM. GAVE ME 5 STICHES AND ALLOT OF BLOOD.
The rear facing shots are great. Looks just like the real drives.
Take the rubber tubing off of your push pull rudder system this is causing problems and it is not needed
Shitbox
🤔turn fins ! Maybe put them straight down in the water. !?
Seems like it's running wet.
Well I see you couldn't turn doesn't really make sense except for the fact that you cut the turn right down by going inward towards your servo Go back out on the arms to get more turning leave the trim the way it is
56 has to much torque.
Way too wet. Adjust cg and drives.
Try a REEFS 900 servo, run bigger spin (turn) fins
Deeper in water.
Good luck 👍
I'm thinking this boat is cursed 🛳️!!!! ☠️
When you turned up the voltage on the servo did it get any better?
You should have seen improvement.
