The motion blur comment Mark levies against AVP is interesting. One of the most common reasons I hear from Quest owners on why their headset is now collecting dust is headaches.
We wait and see.
The 120 gram comment from Mark is more an indictment upon Quest 3 than it is on AVP. It's pretty obvious that for Gen 1, Apple put very little consideration on weight. Some think the dual band was a later afterthought. Quest 3 is the 4th iteration of their headset. It has a plastic shell and still can't get a weight below 500 grams. If Gen 1 AVP is already this good and competitive with what Meta has had 10 yrs to build up to, how good is AVP 4th gen going to be?
With the release of that video, I definitely now know that Zuckerberg thinks Vision Pro is a threat to him and Meta/Quest. As the current leader for the market, there's really no reason for him to release such a defensive video that plays like an ad with specific sales talking points. The part where he mentions his plan to bring back eye tracking for future Quest headset is really telling, eye tracking was pretty much a failure for them.
