I love watching you play with Jeff: of course the music is fine as hell, but the on-stage chemistry between the two of you is such a charming bonus. The Ronnie Scott's concert is one of the very few UA-cam videos that I keep going back to and watching over and over again.

The really crazy thing about this clip is that this is not even her best solo on So We've Ended. The Ronnie Scott's solo is a MILLION times more amazing than the Crossroads one. Jeff was so blown away at Ronnie Scott's that he literally COULD NOT PLAY his solo when she was finished. He just stood there grinning at her for 16 bars before he started his. Tal is a goddess, and truly one of the most epic bassists of our generation. Also, don't sleep on her solo jazz album, Transformation. Top shelf stuff! RIP Jeff!

+1 For the Ronnie Scott’s solo. The musicianship is fantastic by the whole band, and the sense of kindness and generosity all around is a big part of what makes me and the audience connect with the band and feel the love swirling around. Wonderful, Tal.

I was there. It was an amazing summer day. Thank you, Lyle for the extra ticket! The weather was hot and the music was even hotter 🔥. I didn’t realize it at the time how fortunate we were. I always felt like I was born too late and wished I had grown up seeing shows in the 60’s/70’s. However, I look back now and I was still a part of a very special time (80’s, 90’s, early 2000’s) of Live music. I was still able to see many of my heroes some pretty amazing shows. I’m very grateful for it 🙏🏼.

On my bucket list was to see Jeff Beck perform live. Through amazing karma, was fortunate enough to have a center stage front row seat for his Austin, Texas performance a year ago. And then he passed away. I'm so sad yet so grateful for that opportunity and to have thoroughly appreciated his music since the '70s with Blow by Blow onward. Thank you to the universe for Jeff Beck's wonderful talent and guitar mastery.

Today I loaned my bass to a friend’s daughter who has just started learning. She’s gonna try it and decide whether to go full size route with mine, or 3/4 size. She’s13. I hope she goes full size and grows into it. I gave her a bag of heavy picks as well. Seems fortuitous to see this vid pop up in my feed.

Jeff is one of the biggest influences in my planying, but also for improvisation
I remember seeing this video years ago now, and was completely blown away by both you guys, but then also the drummer and keyboard is because everyone nailed their parts and just played off each other so well!
I wish I could’ve met Jeff , but I was able to acquire one of his guitars, and I did a tribute song for him using the licks I learned through the years and improvisation, and I used my Jeff Beck Strat!
I’m stoked for the future you’ve carved for yourself and wish nothing but the best for you Tal!

Very interesting insight to "stage fright", that adrenaline rush, it'll get ya. When I first started playing out I was a teen and had no fear, then when I got older I started second guessing, getting nervous, it took me a long time to figure out I was playing with the wrong people plus over thinking the crowd, they're just there to have a good time. I think if a band leader or say lead singer has diva issues and makes a hostile environment it can affect performance, Jeff's approach is to make it a fun thing and that ends up reflecting in everyone's playing, they're at ease and happy and they play at their very best. RIP Mr. Beck

This is such a great moment. Jeff Beck may not have the biggest "star" in the world, but he certainly was if you were a musician. I think it's a beautiful gesture that he gave this at the time unknown young lady such a spotlight. Funny thing is that Beck had a reputation for being difficult to work with when he was young - the moody and volatile rock guitarist. He obviously mellowed. He was still at his peak when he died last year. The outpouring of love for Beck at his passing was wide and deep. He also made me a big fan of Tal.

I absolutely share your opinion, Pete. How does this interviewer have so many subscribers? A banker or undertaker after two days of a hangover, a dying voice, and the dumbest questions you can ask a high-profile musician like Tal. I would have liked to watch the entire interview, but after 3 minutes, I had to switch it off. The interviewer's arrogant and obviously unprofessional manner is a disappointment. I'm usually very reserved with web criticism, but this was really out of line.

Why does the guy interviewing you look like a lawyer? Who in the right mind does an interview with an artist and goes like "Yea, i think im going with a corporate look" 🤨 And then he said "But you really stepped up there", like can this guy even think like a musician, how is one supposed to respond to that, with "Thanks"? No, that appears ego driven and of course, she was amazing in that solo, the whole concert was legendary, but man, construct some intelligent questions that will pleasantly surprise the guest, dont be unintentionally a jerk. When you compliment an artist, first think an artist will do is to think about the reaction to that compliment, dont make the creator think, make him FEEL and enjoy, make him be relaxed and he will bless you with stories you never thought asking.

You spoke some very true words about being a perfectionist. When I was younger in the 1970s, I was in a few garage bands. We were always trying to play perfect and it would wear the band down. It made playing not fun. In the last band I was in during the 2000s. I made sure everyone knew that each and every one of us would screw up and it was up to the other band members to cover for us. And that we were playing for fun and the music. Sometimes we screwed up as a band and just stopped playing a song because it just didn't work that night. But we had fun and the audience didn't mind, when we told them why.

Playing with Jeff at Ronnies was my introduction to her Amazing playing. What a fantastic bass player!
I hope to God she is not a far right Putin loving nut job. (The same for far left nut job.) i.e. Lex to a different guest: "Did it break your heart to have to testify against President Trump?" I liked the world of music before everyone decided to let the world know what their politics are. But, here we are. We are judged by the company we keep. Lots of love for this world class musician.

Just take the moments you've had and use them to inform your future. Run with it. And run just as far as you can. Smile, laugh, cry and enjoy yourself as you do so. Try to eclipse the sun. That, my friend, is the point of existence. To run and play along this course of life with which we've been blessed, and doing so by following your muse with the talents and tools provided you. This is what it's all about. Good luck with your play along your way!
    John~
