It's A Sin (Lyrics)
When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
So I look back upon my life
Forever with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin

One thing about Olly, the singer, is that you can clearly understand what he's singing, he doesn't chew the words and that's wonderful for a singer
That makes sense
I've been crying over that tv show for 95% of time...
Oh, me too😔
the way olly is such a brilliant singer, song writer AND actor all in one? leave some for the rest of us
@@leehewson6925 you thought he was 40?
@@leehewson6925 I thought maybe that's what you meant, I agree, he only looks about 20!
Ha ha. I know. His farts probably smell of roses
Half of this music is a Cat Stevens song.
And a very good dancer too :)
I don't think anybody is surprised It's A Sin is All 4s best tv show, literally incredible tears and all.
"It's a Sin" is also the name of the show?
@@danielg.5070 yes
I just watched its a sin and my god. It was amzing! I cried so so much during it! The actors were brilliant and the story they told was so heartbreaking and i had no idea it was that bad when HIV became known, because noone really talks about it unless they were there.
I cried when he died in the show
You have my love 😗
I cried 😢😢😢
As a straight girl all I can do is admire the strength of people from the LGBT+ community and offer my heartfelt support and be part of driving positive change for everyone to live safely and happily. On a side note the band's music has helped me so much with my depression and bpd; so great to see you return. 💙
Same, it made me realize how much privilege I have as a straight person... Im so proud of all the LGBT+ people who keep fighting for their rights and I fully support every single one of them! This show is so beautiful ❤️
Thank you I am a gay man who is married
I have friends who are hiv positive
@@olifroggie2663 "...how much privilege I have as a straight person" if you live in fucked up country, then yes.
@@SakiCZ93 unfortunately I do, it hurts to see how disrespected lgbt+ people are in here and I'm really ashamed of my country for that :(
@@SakiCZ93 homophobia is everywhere tho
This show made me feel so much. Utter glee at the joy that these wonderful people had, the strength of their friendships, the way they took their talents and did what made them feel good. But also the pain and suffering that having such deep connections can give you when the world around you isn't the one for you. I can't imagine how conflicting and also isolating it must have felt, even with such friendships, to be who these characters were, and the many other Ritchies and Jills and Roscoes and Collins and Glorias and Ashes. That scene of Ash alone in the corridor of the Pink Palace breaks my heart every time. After watching this series I wish I could find all of my friends and give them the biggest hug, and thank them for accepting me as I am. Stranger, if you are reading this, I hope that you too can feel the love of friendships such as these, but that they are not tainted by the pain that they went through.
It's so true what all you saying. I come from the country when being gay is not acceptable, it's so hard not to be who I am, I wish I could have friend like Gills.
This show looks interesting, what's it and where can I watch!
Edited, i found it, it's a sin is the name lol, oml💀💙
It was so heartbreaking watching it and i dont understand how noone is talking about it. It was such a perfect show and so inspiring and wonderfull and just heartbreaking. After watching it, i have told all my friends and family to watch it and they loved it as well! So well done.
It took my like a few episodes to realise that it was the lead singer from Years and Years though 🤣🤣
I bet Petshop Boys are proud of this version of their song, listening to this song now when I can understand the lyrics is even more beautiful, back when I was a kid and didn't understand English their song was amazing but now is even more heart touching, Years and Years have made a beautiful cover out of it.
They are 💙
A great cover, and thank god Elton John is nowhere to be seen in this version

I tell you there are no words for the impact of this show. The initial optimism, fun and happiness at the start that gets totally eclipsed by the tragedy and sadness at the end 😥. The most moving piece of television I have ever seen.
It's a sin is a show that will stay with me forever. I was born after the AIDS crisis but had I been, I would have been right there. Ritchie, Colin, Ash, Roscoe and Jill will forever stay with me. They were so beautifully written and the series was truly devastatingly heartbreaking. La!❤️

The way they're walking in the rain so confident and proudly, hurt, but with their head up high cause they know who they are are, after leaving their family's house.
That short scene is so beautifully portrayed, I almost cried.
I have just watched this show and it brought back so many bitter sweet memories of those days. Heady and care free, so much fun and then AIDS hit like a nuclear bomb. The pain, the abject denials, the persecution, and make no doubt about it it was vicious persecution, by the ignorant and bigoted. The complete and total lack of support, the stigmatisation of having to declare on travel documents etc. that you didn't have HIV. I related to every single second of the performances. The portrayals brought back people I once knew and who are no longer with us, taken so young. I lost many friends to this horrible disease and I still have friends, the lucky ones you may say, who are living with it to this day nearly 30 years later kept alive by medication and about all a compassionate understanding. Watching this it brought tears to my eyes again and again and the pain of loss and memories long embedded in my mind resurfaced.
Unless you lived through this period it is difficult to visualise just how cruel and devastating AIDS was and it lingers on to this day. I will never comprehend why human beings can be so hateful
and downright cruel to each other.
This cover is so beautiful. To those who didn't know, the original (dance) version was sang by The Pet Shop Boys in the 1980s. Im sure you'll like it too.
Pet Shop Boys wrote it in the 1980's. It's their song.

I have fallen in love now with Olly Alexander. Such a beautiful, warm and talented young man.
In these three minutes all types of emotions and feelings teared me apart in like milion peaces , how is that even possible..
This show was a superb watch and I would recommend it to everyone. I gained a newfound appreciation for the struggle and the level of pride and bravery it took for persons to live their lives without regrets even to the end. Self hate can really lead to a shame spiral and I loved how all the characters were somewhat relatable and just the overall production and portrayals were good. Keep up the good work

This show absolutely broke me. I was born in 1985. Seeing what people went through with HIV/AIDS was so hard. Especially between a group of friends. Seeing each other die. I watched it with a guy who was around during the outbreak. He saw his friends die.

No, it is a bloody shame that homophobia still exists!!! I love the video clip. It made me cry.
Religion causes most of the homophobia in this world. Read the bible and see in the old testament how it is despised. Pathetic that people are still blinded by a book written 4,000 years a go.

Almost cry while listening to this documentary of lives 🥺 ( So beautiful ! !
I'm loving the show, I too know what is like to lose so many dear friens to this horrific disease. The only thing hard to believe is a Portuguese from the Algarve called Juan Pablo a spanish name.
After I watched a doco about the AIDS epidemic, I wept for the young otherwise healthy men that died alone in shame from awful, relentless diseases in hospitals all over the world. May these brave souls rest in peace. Men and women in communities around the world still continue to be shunned and rejected by their communities where the fear, stigma and the blame lives on. As a child I watched the TV adverts and feared it too, believing the misinformation and the fear that I could be next. A little fear is good to protect us, but an overabundance breeds judgement and contempt. To this day people still see it as a gay virus, without understanding it's the high risk activity and frequency that can make both men and women susceptible. People still die of AIDS, including those that cannot afford medication. It is not 'gone'. It's devastation is definitely not forgotten.
I hope the series and all it’s incredible actors win a bafta or more for their performance + Russell T Davies gets one with his masterpiece.
Congrats on the great performance as leading man Ollie 👍😁
