    I absolutely love this channel.
I have a question, I’ve never in all my life shot a compound hunting bow without a peep sight. A coworker told me he’s been shooting his with out one since he bought his Hoyt powermax. That bow came with everything off the jump. I just don’t see how you could use pins and have a drop away but still aim like it’s a traditional bow.
Please bless me with your wisdom

I would say you would run into an issue if you were canting the bow while aiming like a trad bow bcz it would cause all kinds of torque problems. With a traditional bow the arrow has to actually bend around the riser to clear it what they call "archer paradox". This is not the case with a modern compound bow where the riser has ben cut out to allow room for the arrow to clear. Shooting without a peep however is very possible as long as you have a very consistent anchor. I would imagine that shooting without a peep at longer distances would be very difficult especially with a slider / mover sight. It would probably be more ideal with a fixed pin sight that way you could keep your exact anchor and just put the 20 30 or 40 yard pin on your target.

@@bowventure thank y’all very much for responding. He shoots a Hoyt powermax that’s all stock. It comes with a 3 pin fuze sight.
After I sent the original question to ya I caught him at work and just asked if we could hit the range sometime because I couldn’t wrap my head around him shooting without a peep coupled with the fact that bow comes with everything ready to go. You’d have to purchase the bow, have it set to your drawl length and paper tune all while you and your local bow shop technician forget that there’s no peep while setting your D loop. I’ll have to see for myself.
Please never stop making these videos. I enjoy them immensely and they’re some of the best tutorials in archery that I’ve seen so far

It’s called “ angle of declination “. Let’s call it “ walk back tuning” and not French tuning. We are not in France. lol

What does moving your rest do to paper tuning your bow?

When walk back tuning you micro adjust your rest and sight alignment. On some bows this will result in a very slight right or left tear. As strange as it sounds some bows just set up that way. But usually when done correctly you will be able to keep a bullet whole when the bow is walk back tuned. The only time I have ran into the scenario where a bow liked a slight tear but would walk back tune perfectly was if there was a cam lean issue or limb deflection issue. If the bow is perfectly aligned and the arrow spine is not to week, and there is no torque or side palm pressure you should be able to walk back tune and maintain a bullet hole through paper.
