I’m thinking about redoing my Fender Hot Rod DeVille amp with a tweed covering. Is there a specific type or brand you recommend? Will Tru Glue be good for tweed, and how much tweed material will I need? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! True glue is perfect just know that you don’t want to soak the tweed or it will bleed through. So pour it in a disposable bowl and dip your brush and then apply evenly without letting it pool up. Probably could do it with one yard but might want two just to have some to practice with. Hope that helps! Just be careful with tweed not to soak the corners either. Just a nice even coat not dripping.
Tolex is vinyl, which is highly toxic, especially when heated and in the form of micro particles. So heating up vinyl with a heat pistol and scratching it off is a very bad idea, health-wise
UA-camrs do not have enough personal time to solve individual viewer problems, one by one. Even worse, for free. Best case, they can add that in a future video, for *all* to see.
Very informative tips! Thank you for sharing your tutorial!
Thanks! I’ve been slammed with builds but hope to get a few videos up soon!
I picked up a tube amp from 1992. It's showing its age and I wanna breath some new life into it. Beautiful tone still
Honestly I think a recover is the easiest mod on a 90s amp. Anything where you’ve got to take a printed board out is no bueno.
Thanks, nice video. I was thinking of re-tolexing a cab but it sounds pretty involved. Maybe I'll do it in 20 years 🙂
Ha! I just did another exactly like the one in the thumbnail yesterday. It gets easier every time you do it.
Amazing video, just what I was looking for
Thanks for watching.
I have a Marshall 5-watt head for which I've built a 12" cab. Do you recommend rounding over its edges with a 1/2" or 3/4" bit? Thanks in advance.

Man you should see them wrap a Lamborghini!
Hi, Chris
How can I talk to you about a project I am working on?
I would like to talk to you by phone if possible, or email?
Dave
