If this girl doesn’t win an Oscar one day. She’ll have been robbed. The girl is so talented . Like whoa! I just hope she is protected in the industry even if that means getting out. You know? She’s so talented though, it’s amazing
I just watched the Bad Seed movie (starring Mckenna Grace) yesterday and I'm apslutoly in LOVE with it. I can't stop thinking about how good the movie was and you really made me think you were a physio Mckenna! Great job!
Seeeeee no, I can't see her as anything BUT psychopathic. Like even watching her on this interview I think she's pretending. She's low key permanently crazy in my mind
Patty McCormack's performance was THE best I've ever seen. My favorite movie of all time also! So glad it has a remake with the perfect actress McKenna Grace. Can't wait to own it.
I just love this video! Thank you so much for showcasing two generations of actors who portrayed this disturbing, mesmerizing character. I was entranced by the chemistry between Patty and young Mckenna, who has a bright path ahead. Such talent in those two! I am humbled ~ and grateful to be in the audience.
I remember how much that movie scared me when I was a kid and saw it for the first time at night when I was alone and everybody else was sleeping and my mom was down the basement doing laundry . I shouldn't have been up that late and that movie just really creeped me out . Years later while over my cousin's house they had a kid over there about my age maybe I was about 11 old . The girl was a crazy neighbor who threatened to drown me in the creek and so I grabbed my younger cousins and we went in the house . I told their mother my first cousin what happened and she said stay away from that girl there's something wrong with her . Then another time she showed up at a party at my cousins and was acting crazy... I don't remember what happened but she was scaring us . Years later when I was in college I was over my sister's house and the News came on that a woman dressed in Army fatigues had a rifle and had shot innocent people in the local mall . My sister and I both looked at each other and said Sylvia !.... and it turned out to be her , Sylvia Seegrist , the crazy kid from Springfield Delaware County Pennsylvania . She was violent as a kid but was not Charming like the girl in the movie . it was one of the first shooting Rampages in public aside from the guy at the tower in Austin . Like something in a Greek tragedy one of the people she killed was the doctor who bought her into the world... Dr. Trout .... plus she shot and killed a two year old... horrible .
The 1956 Bad Seed is one of my all time favorite movies because of Patty and because of all the amazing actors in it but especially because of how much psychological drama goes into each scene and that couldn't have been pulled off without the talent of Patty McCormack. She was so young and knew exactly what she was doing! I love to watch it and pick apart each scene. I haven't gotten to see the new one yet but I can't wait to see the role reversal in it and how writers handled that in this psychological thriller. Having Patty in it as a cameo will be such a beautiful cinematic treat!
McKenna your performance on the bad seed was amazing your such an amazing young actress I love this movie and I wish there could be a second one to see how it goes with the aunt later on anyways and the dark hair definitely was great for this!
I like McKenna's portrayal of bad seed soooo much more, no offence to the fans... She is an amazinggg actress with sooo much potential, I hope she can do more psychopath, badass, versatile acting for such characters :))))
It’s mainly a matter of opinion some like the old movie some like the play the movie was based on and some like the book more. I just think it’s amazing the adaptation cycle continues. The original is normally better but adaptations give us chances to further explore stories. We get to see what it would be like if the bad seed took place in another time. we also get to see the father react to the girl and how he sees everything. I love the old one and I always will. Not many adaptations are as good as an original story but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see new renditions. After all that’s how we got the original bad seed movie in the first place. Remakes are fine as long as the writers respect the original thing they remake incorporates there own spin and doesn’t just copy paste an idea. Listening to the people who talk about the film and seeing it for my self the creator out a lot of work into the script because he saw a lot of potential to tell a new story. It’ll never be as good as the first but it holds plenty of dedication and will carry the bad seed legacy on. Not only this version but the original to because much like Harry Potter, orient express, Heathers, Sweeney Todd, evil within, and it, the movie will garter attention as people will want to see the original work. Because people naturally want to compare works and see what they like best. The original is good and often better but the remakes are good in there own way when they try and in many cases keep the story alive for new generations to experience....sorry I went on a bit of a tangent I really do respect your opinions it just made me wonder what could be good about a remake and what a good remake looks like. So thank you for opening my mind to new possibilities and understanding.
In what way was the premise lost? We got EVERYTHING from the original even with characters being rewritten or written out completely, plus a little bit more. That scene that was Mrs. Ellis's exit was genius even though it was a move from a totally different movie.
yep, gave it an +++ and I hate, hate, hate most remakes but they did a great job with this one, now my daughter wants to see the 1985 one and can't find it anywhere (I hated it but she would have to see for herself). Loved the bits of humor in it referring to the 1956 movie.
I prefer actual DVDs to streaming, myself. But either one works. I hadn't seen it in 30 years, and the moment I saw the cat in the beginning, it all came back. :-) (Don't worry, the cat isn't one of her victims.)
I know many people won't agree with me but I haven't seen the reamake of The Bad Seed. I don't believe that this girl was as good as Patty McCormack. McComack was outstanding in this role. I love the movie and watch it as much as I can.
Nope,I have been thinking what you're saying for afew years now about this,it ironic how the two actresses look the same and even Don's blonde hair.i also think the singer poppy also looks identical to the two as well, ironically enough she too sports blonde hair!LOL
Wow, that is so wild, I just watch the remake, I had no idea the psychologist was Patty McCormack, the original "bad seed". They are both good movies, (although I will say I liked the original better, probably because I saw it like 30 years and have watched it many times since). I will probably watch the remake 2 or 3 times though, it's a little more "edgy".
Patty still HOT & lovely as ever in her mid 70s (aging gracefully & total CLASS act)! Basically looks the same as on The Ropers (simply older) but u *know it's her!The kid uh...dunno what to say lol.
The performances in the 1956 version were wonderful, but whoever stuck that abomination of an ending on the story should have been horsewhipped. The final, and defining, horror of "The Bad Seed" is that Christine (the mother) -- the only one who knows the truth -- is dead, and Rhoda will now follow a murderous path through life just like that of her grandmother. In the novel, right before she commits suicide, Christine muses: "And Rhoda, for she was very clever indeed, would escape detection for many years; but in the end she would be caught and destroyed. And in that interval between childhood and detection, she would destroy everything and everyone she touched." Idiotically, the Production Code required that anyone who committed a murder in a film (Rhoda has committed three by the end) had to either die on camera, or else be arrested for his/her crimes before the final fadeout (like Mary Astor at the end of "The Maltese Falcon".) I don't know of any other film that had its story logic so utterly torpedoed by studio interference as "The Bad Seed".
She’s nothing like Patty McCormack! In no way! shape! or form! The innocence of A childhood. During that period she does not process. She’s been tainted by This present world concepts and Belief. There’s nothing that appear old fashion, of that era About her. She’s just a shell or young person with good manners Maybe! perhaps! she was wrongly cast for that part. I don’t mean to be critical If it sounds like it forgive me.
McKenna was brilliant. That little girl made me a believer!
She gave a brilliant chilling performance!!!
Patty McCormack should have one the Oscar, she was brilliant performing in the Bad Seed! The originals are always better than the remakes.
If this girl doesn’t win an Oscar one day. She’ll have been robbed. The girl is so talented . Like whoa! I just hope she is protected in the industry even if that means getting out. You know?
She’s so talented though, it’s amazing
Yes she's the mini version of Sabrina
Damn I thought I was only one who saw that , thank God I wasn't going crazy!
That little girl does indeed look a LOT like a young Melissa Joan Hart !!
@@jubalcalif9100 I think they mean Kiernan Shipka's version haha
@@MSW96 As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point ! THANKS for the comment !! :-)
@@jubalcalif9100 Np!
wow she speaks like an adult!
She does indeed ! Seems very mature for her age ! And of course VERY talented !
i would say she speaks like a normal 12 year old.
@@Soren_Ld i think not.
Wow I hope I age as beautifully as Patty! She looks so great!
Aww you can tell she was fan girling 😂😂💖
I just watched the Bad Seed movie (starring Mckenna Grace) yesterday and I'm apslutoly in LOVE with it. I can't stop thinking about how good the movie was and you really made me think you were a physio Mckenna! Great job!

Me too
Ooooooo you like her don't you

MY GOD SHE LOOKS IDENTICAL TO KIERNAN SHIPKA
EXACTLY! , Thank God you pointed that out,I thought it was just me that felt McKenna and kiernan looked identical !
That girl from mad Men? I know!
They’re sisters I believe and she plays mini Sabrina in Sabrina The Teenage Witch

She was playing The Beatles 'Here comes the Sun'

After this great interview,, it will take me awhile to prepare to see darling McKenna as a psycho!!
Oh my goodness that makes sense. That’s why she said “She did the exact things I did at her age” she played the original child from “The Bad Seed” 😂👏🏾
Patty is a great actress so is this new Rhoda Actress !!
In the new movie her name is emma
I like how Mark Kriski doesn't even pretend to be interested.
She looks like poppy
kimbo263 I thought the same thing!

The original character Rhoda in the original Bad Seed is and will always be unmatched.
Just saw the movie on lifetime. This was a good movue but I still enjoyed the original movie.
she is a smart girl..
i love mckenna
One of my favorite psycho movies, the original. Just watched it tonight too.
They are so cute❤💙💚💛💜
I haven't even seen the remake yet, but she is an awesome kid.
The remake could not stand up to the original. The premise was lost.
Sometimes it is just best to leave the Classic Movies alone. Just Leave It Be🙄

yep, gave it an +++ and I hate, hate, hate most remakes but they did a great job with this one, now my daughter wants to see the 1985 one and can't find it anywhere (I hated it but she would have to see for herself). Loved the bits of humor in it referring to the 1956 movie.
Amazon has the 1985 version for $14.
You can buy it on UA-cam for 2.99 too. Just search bad seed and it comes up

Mary Robert, I love the 1985 version of the bad seed.
Love original bad seed. Jennifer 🤩
Rhoda or Emma ? i Love both 🖤💗
Why didn’t they make her blonde like the true character?
I know many people won't agree with me but I haven't seen the reamake of The Bad Seed. I don't believe that this girl was as good as Patty McCormack. McComack was outstanding in this role. I love the movie and watch it as much as I can.
Little Mckenna is soooooooo cute!
I just found out that the lady on The Ropers is the little girl form the bad seed (patty mccormack) LOL
I never saw "The Ropers" (it was a VERY short lived spin off) but till now never knew Patty was a regular on the series !
wow and she is the shrink in the new version... amazing
Great Movie I saw as a kid. 1956
Also
Whatever happened to Baby Jane
They look similar to each other, it looks like Patty is McKenna's grandmother but she's not 😂
Can I wath it somewhere online ?
Can anyone explain why we need to remake movies?
Beautifull kids
Mckenna sei dolcissimaaaaa ^_^
Is it bad that I think she's related to Kiernan Shipka?

Why would they remake The Bad Seed? Doesn’t Hollywood have any original ideas?
Why did they change the name and hair color of Rhoda?
Dark echantress cookie!!!!!!
a tiny kiernan shipka/emma watson
Why do the little girl look like little version of sabrina from sabrina the teenage witch.
Wow
She looks like Kiernan Shipka a lot, and also Emma Watson
What about Rachel penmark? The bad seed 1985?
What about it? The original came out 1956
Wonder how she and young dexter would've interacted?
I though she wasnt the one in young sheldon
Rhoda was a combination of Veruca Salt and Nellie Olsen!
Now watch Mommy
I thought Patty was married to Jeffery Tambor
WELL WELL, the remake with rob lowe directing has MK ULTRA written all over it, yikes. going to watch it!
She look like Jessica rothe and Sabrina
I think she looks like kiernan shipka and the singer poppy fused into one
Rob Lowe directed. 🙄
is she acting on this show also?
The Lifetime movie was so bad.
Is she nervous

The kid's creepy in real life too. Completely inauthentic.
Like WTF the ending was horridle, selfish, uncare
The ending was the best part lol
I don't really care for McKenna's version. She's ok as an actress but I've seen better
Sucks
