Look, I'll love Stewart took the day i die. But knowing he was on Adderall seriously makes me give the best of all time to Ricky. If you've ever done it you know how much different your attention span is. You see things you don't normally see. James is amazing, but if you watched his 125 years as a lites rider, the difference between him and the rest is almost gross. When you know he was basically on meth, you see it clear as day. James even said in an interview once that that jump over the wall in Daytona was completely a result of Adderall. He never did it in practice, and never would have, but he was on that shit and said he just decided to send it. To know that Ricky was able to keep that same energy drug free is nothing short of amazing. This is not meant to bash James. It's meant to praise Ricky.

There is absolutely no debating Carmichael is the G.O.A.T. Stewart on Adderall has absolutely nothing to do with it.

You think Adderall is a performance enhancer? What's wrong with you?

I watched him crash at Binghamton NY '97 and he held on all the way to the ground. A second later, he had picked up the bike and before even remounting pinned the throttle. He was pulled to a Superman position by the bike and a moment later was rocketing up the hill.

He makes a good point. I don’t think the riders that get hurt a lot has bad luck. I think they push it too often when they should calm down .

He’s 100% right, champions stay on the bike. You can be fast, but you can’t win titles on the ground.

I hold on to the bitter end as well, always have but I've also kind of made an art of bailing when I have to.
It's an odd balance of two very odd things....
These RC interviews are excellent though, he's a living legend, I've always loved the guy, gritty, talented, smart, well spoken.
I've actually come to fist to cuffs with people who would talk crap on RC.
I suppose it's fair to say I was a tad intemperate in my youth....
God bless dirt bikes and God bless RC 👈👍🙏

Interviewer is excellent - way to bring out Carmichael's personality. Totally humanizes a moto diety. Very cool.

Hannah was the same way. They used to say Hannah does not need foot pegs, because his feet are rarely on them. His attitude was, "If my hands were on the handle bars, who cares where my feet were", and he had a knack for surviving the rodeo.

One thing that separates motorcycle racers from average riders is how long they hang on and the amazing saves they make

it's funny too hear him say everything I used to think about his riding style. I thought he was so lucky all the time by holding on which made me think his style was not as smooth as say McGrath but he's a champion! btw damm he's not a kid no more haha

this is why i still consider mcgrath better than rc. yes all the rc fan boys will give me flac for this, but mcgrath used to ride as effortlessly, comfortably and mistake free as he possibly could have and quite honestly from 1993-anaheim 3 in 2001 he did just that and took it to carmichael. ricky looked like a lost cause in 1999 and was consistently fading out of races in 2000 and finished behind vuillemin, larocco and kevin windham in the 2000 supercross series
jeremy wasnt willing to risk his body/ride outside of his comfort zone. RC started a whole new era of racing. it was either crash or win, nothing in between and the training regimens for racing nowadays are completely insane and actually suck the fun out of racing. ask travis pastrana or watch 199 lives

    • @samblack5313
      @samblack5313 4 роки тому +1

I agree that he started an all new era of racing, but I don’t think he was ever a crash or win guy.. he started a new era of racing because he trained harder than all of them, and anyone who wanted to compete had to do the same.

Ride it to the scene of the crash. Cant say you didnt try lol. As im sitting here in a cast from frame raking a rut on a 70ft step down. Almost rode it out. Breaking bumps got me in the end

I feel like Carmichael is seen as this workaholic but let's not forget, this guy was Bradshaw fast. he was extremely FAST. yes he got a trainer, yes he had work ethic, yada yada, but his sheer speed was otherworldly. if it wasn't James Stewart would have dominated him and all the rest, but I'm almost sure even James was thinking well damn. ask James. I'm 100% positive he would say the same. you don't win FIVE effing supercross championships in a row (minus the ACL year off) and not be freaky FAAAAAST.

Lol.me too man.i hold on to that fucker until we both hit the dirt.the only time it done me wrong was when I and endo'd over a jump and the bike hit me in the ass as I landed on my head, breaking my pelvis and blowing out some discs in my back.i should've bailed that time but like Ricky said,it's built in me to hang the fuck on.idk why?

He holds on until he gets arm pump and can’t hold on anymore from trying to win or catching someone. Of course he will say this. But if you physically are in total control the bike will not kick you off

And I love Carmichael he’s my idol rider but cmon man, that’s motivation, you hold on until you get kicked off because you get weak and can’t hang on anymore despite sending it for a big jump or pass which is risky
