For a power called “molecular manipulation” it seems to only let her affect temperature. Obviously, her powers should have limits, but I’d expect manipulating molecules would allow a greater range of feats.

@@tacticwave3856 things like affecting density, transmuting objects or repairing cells to heal somebody. Nothing too insane, but a bit more varied than “hot or cold”.

She should be able to from things from matter alone
When I started season 3, I was so confused by their powers. Things feel like they move a thousand times faster in the reboot while not explaining some things and overexplaining things that don't need it. Mel being a professor after missing is so sudden without explaining. Meanwhile, characters repeat something someone else just said or explain something we obviously see as if their target audience are elementary age.
I actually agree with some people in these comments, her powers seem more like Temperature Manipulation (Cryokinesis/Thermokinesis), than Molecular Manipulation. If it wasn't for the added ice/heat CGI projecting out of her hands, it would look more realistic.
Temperature is literally the speed at which molecules vibrate.
Imagine just melting and freezing stuff badass
I think the CGI should show molecules speeding up or slowing down. But it’s molecular manipulation!
Mel is no longer a time witch. She lost that magical aura by the time they got new auras from the black amber her personality was different, so she manifested a power according to who she was in season 2. The baby unless there is another timeline change should be a time witch from the two instances it activated in the womb-like with Piper and Phoebe in OG pregnancies. I do like the molecular powers, which with training could evolve what Piper could do since they now have the same powers as molecular witches. We can hope there is another future episode where she is instantly slowing time molecules like Pipers freezes vs the gradual molecular changes she is doing now.

I actually enjoy the series despite (or maybe more so because of?) my being a big fan of the original, but I wish that one of the things they've corrected in the reboot was giving them completely different powers in the middle of the series and forgetting about their older ones. :/ Considering also they even expanded upon their original powers just in the reboot's first season alone. Ugh
I quite enjoy their new powers. Their old ones haven't been forgotten as you can see, but now they're exploring new ones.

If we already seen the original that means we need new adventures and stuff, not the same old stuff
I agree they derived from the original a lot and started them off as kids not young adults. Powers are different too .

They should have never gave her that fire and ice effects and they should have kept it like season 2 where it looks like she bend the air molecules but I guess that the time spend from season two her powers have grown and evolved because she can do more stuff then fire and ice and that was shown in season two where when Harry tried to stab her
Her getting her time freezing powers back in the end of season 3 reminds me of the original when piper got her ability to blow things up at the end of season 3 I guess the new charmed one in the reboot won’t be the strongest one I guess just like piper Mel will now be the oldest Maggie the second and the new charmed one will be the youngest making Mel just like piper the strongest of the 3 sisters

she went through the portal to the command center which bound their powers as a protective measure, the molecular powers are a result of trying to get her powers back
I havent seen the new charm, still torn about it undoing the legacy of the first-- but i am glad they brought back the 'freeze time' power ^^

She heats and freeze things, but their powers are growing, so at some point, she is going to heat things instatly(kinda explosions like Piper) and freeze things instatly
Not to mention her time powers, she can stop it or speed it, and time travels by herself
I don't understand why they hate her powers she can melt things and freeze things like piper did as a warlock Mel is literally amazing to me

Never and piper was only able to self heal when she was pregnant with Wyatt
Fyi og charmed had electrokinesis as well. And Mel didn’t heal anyone, Ruby was overheating due to using acceleration potion and Mel simply cooled her down

@@poppadnice52 Just about every episode in OG charmed was filled with fodder characters/demons. Want to know what I found hillarious? Prue dying and her sisters getting over it in a week or two; in a show supposedly revolving around sisterhood. Now that's hillarious!

THIS IS MY IMO but i liked that the storylines/ main plot of each season was different then the original bc im sorry but people should know almost every season there was a main bad person and at the end they get him you could also say it about this but in the og 90% of each episode was them vanquishing someone new dont lie im not wrong with this it wasnt. With this reboot it was more about managing the magical world when they knew nothing ab it, mental stuff and ofc the bad guy and for me voth shows didnt know a lot ab magic in the beginning but in the og it just immediately clicked for them and and their was not really progression to get to it while with this you can clearly tell their was. So yes i do love both shows but dont you dare hate on this good one bc its not the same/like as the original or it didnt follow up their kids and grandkids as the successor thats what most reboots do recast the entire show from scratch no real connection the the og maybe small past things but overall it shouldn’t be the same

Honestly it’s the same show, these are the effects they would’ve used if the first charmed had come out later in life. Nostalgia has made people forget how cheesy the effects were the first time around. It’s just more about girl power than being sexy witches dating boys. That Charlie’s Angel’s style they had really drew people in, but I like this too for different reasons
Wb would have not used these type of effects lol some times less is more. Effects like these are used for super hero shows not magic

The CW have had some good shows but i believe they needed a stronger budget for the special effects and writers producers / directors etc that actually cared for the legacy of the Charmed Universe

So can Mel still control time or can she only use molecular manipulation? Also can Maggie still read minds or can she just see the future?
So Mel has both of her powers now she has her first power which is temporal manipulation and she also has her molecular manipulation power as well. Maggie has foresight which is premonitions and she has another power similar to her emphatic abilities she can control the emotions of others but she no longer has the power of empathy which allowed her to hear thoughts. Hopefully in the next season she can tap back into her empathic abilities and get her empathy power back
I really enjoy the show, but something it's just not conecting with me it's their powers. Their powers are the main legacy from the profecy of the charmed ones, it's characteristic of each sister, and the fact that it's pretty much obvious the writters are struggling for develop them in the plot (from changing Maggie's powers in the first season to changing ALL their power in the middle of the show) it's kind of frustrating for me, seeing how their originals power are disappearing.
