I purchased this last year and in my opinion it’s the best from the house it’s a beautiful fragrance. Dark resinous balsamic metallic tart and gourmand at the same time just simply magic in a bottle. Very unique. I always do one spray on my hand just so I can constantly smell it 😂.

I just purchased this. My first take on it was WTF! I never ever smelled anything like this. Prior to smelling this I was sampling Ocean Oud by Ramon Monegal and I must say that both of these fall in a specific category of absolutely unique and beyond bold. Black Gemstone to me is a little more versatile then you say it is to me. I can see this being worn at a mid fall to early spring out door event that is leaning towards black tie to very artsy venues. In doors I think the venue has to be very open like a grand gallery but still an extremely elegant event . The bitter sweetness mixed with that inky vibe is sexually intoxicating. As long as the wearer doesn't over spray, I think they can get away wearing this even in closer areas just as long as they give it time to relax on their skin. One last thing, this is a very mature scent, not age wise but attitude. You have to be a very confident person to wear this. It is almost like if someone was to ask "why you would pick such a scent", your response has to be "What else would I wear." Have a good day.

Got this today, and I must say, as my first SHL fragrance, this thing does transform quite a bit over the course of time. It's always changing and morphing. I really like this one, and love the story behind it. However, this is very reminiscent to me of Fall Into Stars from Strangelove NYC, which IMHO is a far superior fragrance (though rather unidimensional and glacial in it's development).

I owe your videos to my discovering of SHL. I have two of his fragrances so far (Taklamakan and 2022 Generation Homme) and have a sample of Black Gemstone and it will be going on my list. This is so unique and unlike anything else I had put my nose on. The only thing I can think to compare it to is Black Afgano, but that is only in the dark feeling of it. I think you could use them both in the same situations. Thank you for introducing me to this house.

This perfume is a pure masterpiece! Dark but wearable, mysterious and very sophisticated.
