It’s the end for Mickey Harte now, I’ve seen names like Malachy O’Rourke, Damien McAlernan, Ronan Devlin and Barry Dillon mentioned for the job, all 4 would be decent appointments for Derry imo.
What I think we’re not discussing enough is how good Ciarán Meenagh was! When Harte left us last year I’d hoped we could get him. So funny how it’s all worked out. We’re all sniggering into our sleeves in Louth anyway. But yeah, I thought Meenagh was quality, was at the Kerry v Derry in 2023 - what a game!
Harts knowledge of football could be written on the back of a postage stamp Derry were doing fine until micky came in , It was obvious his Style was imposed on them [ gouging / knee in the back of a player / pulling / dragging But NO FOOTBALL just Harts Puke at it,s best , May we never see him or his likes again he dragged the game into the Gutter for those of us know the rules and rudiments of the game , As a person he is a gentle person with sense of humanity and kindness Away from Gaelic Football .
Thank god he's gone he is not a derry person never talked to players and never took training. He thinks he is too good for us derry one's. Please get one of our own. Love your show. Glad he's gone lads
Mickey Harte is best suited to developing weaker counties at this stage in his career, like he did successfully with Louth. I hope he puts his hand up for the Leitrim job. That would be a serious appointment. Distance not too big an issue either. Only issue would be Leitrim's budget. Louth broke the bank, Leitrim would have to rob a bank first.
Mickies day in football is long gone. No place for old stock in the new game

Derry got found out by Jim McGuinness and Donegal. They were never the same after that.

Derry much better off without him, Kerry v Derry 2023 one of the best games of the season the difference in 2024 was shocking
Mickey is 72 years of age now and I think he'll have a enough of management at this stage.
