Beautiful pattern, and very easy to follow tutorial. Thanks! One question though. There are no knots at the end to secure it. I can't imagine how this wouldn't come undone. Maybe I could tie some half hitch knots at the end, then bury the thread?
Hello! Sorry for the delay - I missed this question. I checked with Katie, the designer, and here is what she said: No knots needed! The slip stitch you make at the beginning becomes a knot on the starting end (basically) and when you slip the thread through the loop on the end side, that creates another knot and then weaving the ends together and weaving the ends into the bracelet somehow miraculously are enough that you don’t need any other knots! It’s magic! I second guessed it too when I started making them, but I’ve made over a hundred bracelets by now and haven’t had any problem with them coming apart. I hope that helps - enjoy making this bracelet! (and I can attest to Katie making over a hundred - she made a color wheel of bracelets!)

If you use a different size bead then how do you determine the size of thread to use and the crochet hook to use. Having an issue trying to find 8/0 seed beads and crochet hook and even crochet thread?? Trying to avoid ordering online for my first pass at this project.....thanks!
Hello Donna! We are happy to help! If you would like to size this project down, you could use a size 11 seed bead and a 1mm hook. You can see another example here using smaller beads: www.fusionbeads.com/coastal-crochet-bracelet We hope this information is helfpul!
Hi Marla! You could certainly do either! If you wish to have it an inch longer than If you need a longer bracelet add six solid colored beads at Rows 3, 18, 33, 48, 63, and 78. 6 rows= 36 beads = ½ inch. You may also view our printout instructions here www.fusionbeads.com/sunset-crochet-bracelet

Hello - this piece has written instructions on our website here: s3.amazonaws.com/FusionBeads/pdf/inspiration_198109.pdf The instructions explain how to size the bracelet - here is what they say: This pattern is designed to create a 7 inch bangle bracelet. If you need a longer or shorter bracelet - add or take away six solid colored beads at Rows 3, 18, 33, 48, 63, and 78. 6 rows= 36 beads = ½ inch. So it sounds like you will want to take out 6 rows or 36 beads to make a 6 1/2 inch bracelet - try to remove the solid rows so you keep the nice pattern part - have fun making this!
Is there a tip or trick to ensure you are crocheting through the correct bead. I bought the bracelet kit and the spiral pattern went great. When I got to the saw tooth pattern I started over at least 6 times because I did not seem to have 6 in the round in the 2nd and 3 rows. Picking up the same color is definitely more challenging. Thanks for your tutorials - they have helped me quite a bit.
Our recommendation is to hold your upcoming beads under your thumb/finger, and use your thumbnail to separate out the next bead you're crocheting. That way you can always see the next one you are working on.
Thanks for the reply. I did as you recommended and also wrote down the beads in the row. That really helped and I was able to complete the bracelet. I appreciate you help!!!! Thank you!

Exactly, how much thread and how many beads will be needed for this bracelet project? I don't want to use too much or too little thread or beads. I, simply, would like to know the right amount to use for the bracelet.
It will depend how long you want the bracelet to be. If you are using size 8 seed beads, 5 inches of strung beads will equal one inch of finished crochet rope.

I could really use your help, PLEASE...I'm trying to do a necklace for a friend, she gave me all the material, but she can't do it anymore because of her hands. So I've been trying really hard and just getting so frustrating that I haven't been able to get it. I'm working with 11/0 beads and some thread that she gave me but I don't know what size it is. Also, I'm using a size 10 steel crochet hook. 8 seed beads in circumference. I do have everything already strung and I get can a chain of 8 beads done. but when I make it into a circle and try to start slip stitching the beads for the second row, I guess its so small I lose my place. :0( and then i end up with what looks like a total mess and I undo it cause I know I have done something wrong. Your HELP!! would be Greatly Appreciated.
Hi @lilylee, if you are using our Sunset Crochet Bracelet as the basis - each bracelet has 6 colors. 1 set would make about 3 bracelets, if made to the size in the pattern. If you want 6 bags of each color, it would make about 21 bracelets. Please note, these calculations do not include stringing material.
Hello from Fusion Beads! You will string all the beads for 90 rows. Please visit our Inspiration Project page where you can download the free instructions! Please let us know if you have any other questions! www.fusionbeads.com/sunset-crochet-bracelet
So when I read the chart do I go left to right on first row and then left to right on 2nd row and so on, always going left to right? Or left to right on first, right to left on 2nd, and then left to right on 3rd, etc., etc. Do you know what I mean?
Yes you definitely may! Here is a great formula that helps when making a crochet bracelet in other bead sizes. The formula is a rough estimate of about how many you may need, as the beads are not always equal. Like in the case of size 11/0 it may be 54 - 60 beads approximately to equal 1” of 6 around. A rule of thumb is: desired rope length X number-around = inches of beads to string i.e. 7" bracelet X 6-around = string 42" of beads To figure the amount of beads needed: desired rope length X number-around = inches of beads to string then Inches of strung beads X number of beads per inch = number of beads needed then Number of beads needed ÷ beads per gram = grams of beads needed For example: In 11/0 seed beads a 9" rope X inches to string (6") = string 54" of beads 54" of strung beads X 18 beads per inch = 972 beads 972 beads÷ 110 beads per gram = 8.8 grams of beads
Absolutely! If you go smaller, you may want to try to use a different cord such as the micro cord. You can find it here: www.fusionbeads.com/micro-cord_2 Here's a few links to some of our other projects that use size 11 beads and micro cord: www.fusionbeads.com/coastal-crochet-bracelet www.fusionbeads.com/deco-crochet-bracelet
The bead stringing part - which seems pretty important - is not very clear. So you read every row left to right? You don't go Left to Right then Right to Left on each alternate row? A little confusing.
We're sorry that wasn't very clear. Since the cord is left on the spool, when stringing, the beads will be strung from left to right. When your ready to begin crocheting, you'll build from right to left, this is so you'll be able to have additional stringing material come through while creating the bracelet.

How many bracelets do you think can be made from the 6 packets of beads?
Hi @lilylee, if you are using our Sunset Crochet Bracelet as the basis - each bracelet has 6 colors. 1 set would make about 3 bracelets, if made to the size in the pattern. If you want 6 bags of each color, it would make about 21 bracelets. Please note, these calculations do not include stringing material.

Hi Denise! I checked with the designer and she confirmed you always go left to right on each row. Enjoy making this bracelet!
Thanks. I love to crochet so I'm sure I will.
I have size 11 and 10 seed beads can I use them?
Yes you definitely may! Here is a great formula that helps when making a crochet bracelet in other bead sizes.
The formula is a rough estimate of about how many you may need, as the beads are not always equal. Like in the case of size 11/0 it may be 54 - 60 beads approximately to equal 1” of 6 around.
A rule of thumb is:
desired rope length X number-around = inches of beads to string
i.e. 7" bracelet X 6-around = string 42" of beads
To figure the amount of beads needed:
desired rope length X number-around = inches of beads to string
then
Inches of strung beads X number of beads per inch = number of beads needed
then
Number of beads needed ÷ beads per gram = grams of beads needed
For example:
In 11/0 seed beads a 9" rope X inches to string (6") = string 54" of beads
54" of strung beads X 18 beads per inch = 972 beads
972 beads÷ 110 beads per gram = 8.8 grams of beads
Can you use a different size bead?
Absolutely! If you go smaller, you may want to try to use a different cord such as the micro cord. You can find it here: www.fusionbeads.com/micro-cord_2
Here's a few links to some of our other projects that use size 11 beads and micro cord:

The bead stringing part - which seems pretty important - is not very clear. So you read every row left to right? You don't go Left to Right then Right to Left on each alternate row? A little confusing.
We're sorry that wasn't very clear. Since the cord is left on the spool, when stringing, the beads will be strung from left to right.
When your ready to begin crocheting, you'll build from right to left, this is so you'll be able to have additional stringing material come through while creating the bracelet.
