Yeah I'd think second weapon banner. Only issue is if they added a third rerun (not rumoured just a good idea) then three weapons on one banner is kind of a back step from the new fate system. Maybe just be generous and put rerun weapons on individual banners??

No, actually it's a smart move. It actually lowers the defense of the players, it gave them complacency. Players would be like "meh, they're here for the entire patch though, no need to be worrisome, pity building won't hurt". Even better for HoYo, this would entice the players to try to destroy their long time saved up primos to constellate their favorite characters. The 20 days period won't give such "chill, relaxing" aura. It's a trap for the majority of the players who're into gacha, though it won't work against meta giga sl8ve like me who knew who we are getting since day one of the leaks.

We have SO many characters. 5 and 4 star rarity But from the evidence - their approach to the Chronicle Wish - makes me think, they're trying things out and hoping for the changes to project something more profitable.
It looks like instead of adding a 3rd banner Hoyo might extend the banners in hopes that players can get a the very least 1 character per phase. Cant say im too happy coz its still just 2 characters per phase. And i think they doing it at 5.3 is coz its the start of the new year and its the release of Mauvika.
They couldve easily avoided all these mess if they just add more chars on standard banner but their greed wont let it happen, they should realize that its safer to do this than mess up the whole banner system
This rumor seems to reveal how the actual banner system should be reformed or reworked. Ppl make and engage on this type of rumors because they want some kind of change in the banner system. Personally, although I think it could be great, I don't believe HV would do it just for the benefit of the FTP base. This is a gacha game, which means money, and the fact that it is FTP means that a balance should be made. FTP players should have the chance to pull for the charas they want, but if you benefit them too much, the ppl who spend money would see no reason to continue spending money or even to continue playing, so any change in the banner system should meet that balance.
Honestly is they do the 42 days for the new limited characters it would give me a lot of time to get the character. Like say c6 Mavuika. I’ll have more time for that instead of trying to get it all in 3 weeks

It’s most likely fake as it would be confusing as how would they do the weapon banners will they do 1 or 2? If they do two it will be confusing for what banner is which as we get to the second phase. And a sudden change in the banner system would be so sudden that most people would be like “why didn’t they do this earlier in the game!” Or “this is stupid adding it now rather than adding it at the start of the game” hoyo might face criticism if the add this feature. If it’s for new characters only cool but it would make more sense to do this at the start of the game.
If arlecchino and clorinde do actually end up rerun I will be very happy because I have both of them and I can put all my focus on mavuika and possibly try getting arlecchino weapon
i think that's really good. here's why: as a f2p player, i can get a 5* in each phase if i grind all day. but my father limited my screentime to 1 hour. i don't wanna use my money for genshin since i bought my first pc(with my own money after 8 years of saving) and i don't have good equipment. i still need about $200 for the headphones and about $40 for the keyboard. so this update would be a great thing for me because my favourite character is arlecchino

They could just add one or two banners and let them circle for 40 days and add a few more characters to the standard wish banner - sure you have to be careful and decide for characters as a f2p but they would come back sooner so it would be fine to wait

IDC about the “meta” because characters don’t determine the direction of the game when all characters are viable for all the content. New characters are for old players who already have an established account. But newer players such as myself get the sense that there is no FOMO because we get the sense we’ve actually have missed out with these insane rerun times for character we want but don’t own.
some leakers on zzz said that in the next patch 1.4 banners will come out together (miyabi and harumasa (free character)). so maybe genshin will do the same thing
you forgot to mention that the biggest thing that is pushing this leak is because ZZZ banner change were leaked first and looked like it could be true that miyabi and harumasa will run the whole 1.4 patch, but who knows maybe its just on ZZZ.
