Dear Rahuol, I still remember this film. I was in the secondary school in Karachi, Pakistan when this movie was released in Light House Cinema. On some national holiday, our whole class was taken to see this film. We had to walk about 2-3 miles from our school to cinema house. You are doing a great job. I try to see all your videos. This is a wonderful history of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor. It’s quite interesting though I had heard about different version of the same story number of times. Only one of the remarks you said that when Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were in Khalsa College…… Well Raj Kapoor never went to college. Only Dilip Kumar was in Khalsa college. In fact he was in Wilson college for first 2 years and then shifted to Khalsa college. Yes, Raj Kapoor used to go and meet Dilip Kumar at Khalsa regularly. Mainly because they were staying nearby in college Road (Mahajani Marg), where many of the actors lived there. Just to clarify although Pashto is indeed spoken in Peshawar, I am sure Yusuf Khan spoke Hindko fluently which is the native language for the town of Peshawar, especially if he is from kissa Khani bazaar. I remember an interview he knew a few pashto words but he was hindkowan, although being a pashtun myself and family from KPK im very proud of him and have seen his old house in Peshawar. Kader Khan spoke pashto beautifully, but his fam from Afghanistan 😀
Yes, those Bombay Talkies b/w movies are brilliant. Dilip Kumar has always been one of my favorite actor since I share the same birthday, but not the year. Madhubala, Suchitra Sen n Uttam Kumar are top on my list. Old classical Hindi cinema movies are excellent, so is their acting skills as opposed to “Bollywood”, name in itself sounds cheap n comical….to me…..thanks….
