    I missed out on the first many years of this game, but watching it slowly... SLOWLY start to move again is something to behold.

    This all looks great! Less points in the skill tree would have been nice, but I do like the idea of this more linier version. I was really worried about having to reskill all my mechs so I love that the points we already have in our trees will be already filled out in the new system. Keep up the good work!

    Congratulations to everyone involved in the skill tree redesign. They were somehow able to pick apart that rat's nest and come up with something much more rational, coherent, accessible and understandable. And all of it while avoiding a monstrously complicated conversion and compensation mechanic or, from the player's perspective, the need to re-skill dozens to hundreds of mechs. Nice work, gentlemen.

    great work on the skill tree. I am not certain why sensor range is required before sensor deprivation. but all of this is better than before. thanks for the work.

    Imagine bounty events. I would run around events with a bounty on my head or hunting someone else.
    Imagine the bounty being something players can contribute to, or it increasing by surviving as the hunted!

    Hey guys - Thanks for everything. I haven't had the chance to look at this, yet, but while I am thinking about it: you guys are considering quirk colors, which is cool and all. But, have you guys considered making sure that base quirks are SEPARATE from any and all quirks on top of a given mechs base quirks so that you don't have to go back to the store and see what quirks a mech comes with stock? It would be so nice to not have to go to the store in order to see a mechs base quirks after having skilled into it. I would really like a separate color for base quirks AND a separate space for base quirks that have stacked mastered quirks. As an example - a given mech comes with 10% cooldown for a weapon system stock but you have also mastered that same mech for an additional cool down of say .....5%..... It would be so awesome to have 1 bar with a given color telling you 10 percent cooldown (color 1 which is the same color for all base quirks) and another bar with 5% cooldown (color 2) for having skilled into it. Or something similar to how you are already doing things, where, in the mech lab, you have "range 300m (+50m)" because you put a targeting computer in it. I hope this makes sense, and is also considered. Anyway, Cheers

    Definitely a step in the right direction. Looking forward to see the event queue in action. Some friends and I recently came back to the game and it seems just at the right time.

    With the Skill Tree this is practically everything I Hoped it would be! Looking forward to what Matt might cook up for us in the Event Que. And to see the Quirk and Skill Enhancements View fully finished!

    That event queue will get me to actively play again, I can already see. (If I like the event of course.) Let's hope many others feel the same and the population will be solid!
    Huge fan of the duration btw. sub 20 min is a dev vlog I'm actually willing to watch on my own :D

    The skill tree re-configure looks like a great change. The quirk organization is also nice, but I'm never going to be able to read ballistic perks again... Purple on a dark background without a scaling UI? I already need to use the 'mech hover-over summary to read what's mounted because of them being purple in the paper doll boxes.

    I never really had a problem with the skill tree, but man this new change is so much better. Can't wait to see what event que has to offer eventually. I'm going to call it now though, Solaris event will still be dead. To many people enjoy playing with their friends in just about any genre nowadays. So, I hope more attention goes into Faction Play for events.

    Wow. You guys do that last roadmap, which was the most disappointing thing I've ever seen. Then you guys go and do something like this...AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELVES! Seriously though, these are AWESOME (Pun intended) changes! Stoked!

    "No grind"? What a concept, If I enjoy the gameplay I don't call it grind, I call it "playing the game"
    Just started playing a week ago, and hope this changes are for the best. Personally, it was days before I wrapped my head around the skill system...I was busy being stressed about how "unfriendly" the game is for newbies, but I thinks its alright now. But it is a shame for me to stress that out to any friend I recommend the game, and assure them I will be logged on to help them and guide them the best I can, just to spare them the same stress I endured...Im sounding a bit dramatic but seriously, if it wasnt because of my nostalgia fueled love for mechs (long time fan going back to the MW2's series and the MW4 plus all their expansions) I don't think I would still be playing this game.

    I think More targeting computer variations with nodes could make our quirk dreams come true faster.
    Targeting computers variation should be increased/Added, and tailored to improve play stiles, and the cost being tonnage and slots, maybe event heat in some cases. Be creative guys.

    The new skill tree sounds awesome and the event Q sounds even better. I like the fact that an event Q you'll be doing different events with only certain mechs allowed. It sounds like a challenge twist that this game needs to keep it fresh. One more thing you do realize this is an MachWarrior game and even in faction play there is no train capture / defense what is up with that?

    I like the change. I started playing this game at release and took a 2 year break. Was playing other games and recently came back a few months ago. I was at the bottom at tier 4 and now I am at the bottom of tier 5 all of a sudden. I looked back at some patch notes but did I miss something? I was tier 4 in January and after this last patch I quickly fell. I am getting used to the game again but I don't suck that bad do I? Anyone notice this or did it have to do with my break?

    Just returned to MWO after a long break... Seems that faction war isn't a thing anymore, what's the issue? Low player count? No one interested? Is there somewhere I can find a clan?

      I think its low player count mixed with menu lock. Long wait times where you cannot play the game mean most people won't join until each side is near full. People want to play, I think, because I've managed to play it, but it takes coordination or excessive time to get the first dozen or so people to show up.

    When running the Mechwarrior Registry we had a drop randomizer that assigned a battle id. Then you could type that id on a server and get those settings.
    I can imagine a randomized event that changed settings every hour with your new event queue.

    Why is it the MWO DEV team updating Mech Quirks on each and every Mech, Why not just expand the Targeting computer variety and capabilities to quirk attributes up and down, put the positive and negative balancing in the targeting computers. Have multiple types and variations.. Idea and opinion: Add new and improved or enhance targeting computers, to improve on specific weapons effects, damage and ranges. New Weapons, and armor types, more single use Tech, be creative.

    If you are going to abandon the tree mechanic, just switch to a simple level up skill system (meaning, abandon the tree visual).

      This is far from useless. These changes are very good for the majority of players who barely touch faction anyway.
