You're so inspiring with your work, you're actually a big part why I even started doing any of it. Great video, just like every other of yours, love ya
I didn't realize how good a quality these Bandai kits are. I always kind of blew them off because they were 'snap together' kits. I've come to realize how beautifully detailed they are, now that I own some of them.
Cool to see you building another one. I just recently finished mine, it was the second ever model I've built and airbrushed after an X-wing I did for practice. Your first series was awesome very helpful for a beginner, thanks so much for sharing.
I am so looking forward to this build. At $300 I can not afford to budget this kit into my collection, so I will build it thru your video series until I get one for myself. Thank you!
You were literally right down the street from me! I'd be happy to show you some places if you ever get this way again. You are spot on about the sidewalks!!
I've been watching your videos to help me with my recently started build and I say the Epic games thing. Small world as I work for them and was in HQ in Cary for 8 years before relocating to a smaller office on the other coast. Appreciate the help!
@@oneplumpboi5317 my prices are in aud btw, but yeah you could say this kit is a good investment, its probably the best kit bandai has ever released so i imagine it will be worth a lot in a few years
I really wish this kit had a "pre-painted" version, because I'd buy it in a heartbeat but my model painting skills are sorely lacking and thus it'd be wasted on me. I followed your updates to this on Facebook and it's stunning.
Any reason you decided to go with that current base color instead of mixing the paint like you did for the last falcon? I'm assuming it let's you be more consistent, but maybe it's more accurate?
I began to question whether or not the off-white was having much of an effect during the last build. I also hadn't used Insignia White before, so since discovering it I think it does the job just fine on its own. It's just a fact of discovering more colours.
Question, I am about to complete the Decals. Do I need to coat the ship in Gloss Varnish or can I use Vallejo Matt to cover the ship to protect the Decals. I am going to do the exact same weathering technique using the odourless thinner and German paints. Will Matt varnish withstand the process?
Well the decals are so small and sparse I wouldn't bother applying another clear coat over them. You should be good to go straight into weathering, just take a bit of care over the decals. That's how I did it. :)
@@modelchili There's like 300 Decals and every video I've watched people always apply a clear coat to protect them. So I will apply a coast of Vallejo Flat Clear because I want the shine of the T-13 to go before I commence the Weathering. The Weathering doesn't remove the shine from the paint work? Was you ship Glossy when you finished?
I did: Gloss coat > decals > weathering > flat coat. I usually do a gloss coat over decals to protect them, but didn't feel like it was worth it in this case. I'd never do weathering over a flat coat, you'll end up staining it and not being able to adjust it.
@@modelchili thanks for letting me know. I will do some testing on some samples I painted to practice my washes etc before I commit to the Falcon. Cheers
Did you get any Barbeque while here in NC? And you are totally right, we don't really give walkers any space on the roads here. Maybe that is the true root of our obesity....
Well, whoever is going to receive this commission build from you is in for a treat! They have commissioned the right person for sure. :) May I ask how much on average you would charge for a commission project like this? If that is too personal of an inquiry to answer, I will completely understand.
Hi, really great work great respect !! Build the same model of Bandai but am an airbrush freshman. Vallejo colors, which pressure do you use and do you use the Vallejo thinner or the flow improver? Thank you very much and Greetings from Germany
I wish Tamiya made insignia white in a jar...only cans that I've ever been able to find. Do you think Vallejo insignia white or their white grey works better for this kit since I know you used white grey for your 1/144 falcon?
Bit of a rando question but can you tell the difference between Vallejo Insignia White and Vallejo White Grey? I believe you've used them both on Star Wars model kits, and they both seem to be a light beige grey. Their swatches on the web look about the same. I've used White Grey on the mini Star Destroyer and Death Star II, and a BSG Viper Mk II. Really nice colour.
Hey Chili, new to your page, but love the work. For a relative beginner, do you have any advice re air brush/spray gun, method and the wider kit needed? Thanks
It's amusing to think that the original greeblies were made from identifiable model kits. Now parts from Star Wars model kits are being used as greeblies on scratch-built models of their own. Recursive greeblying.
I’m due to get my MP New Hope Millennium Falcon on Tuesday! I’ve never tried airbrushing before, I hope to get mine half as nice as your build. Great vids man:) Any tips for airbrushing this monster?
shame these are impossible to find now for a decent price. Upwards over $1200 AUD for a kit is ridiculous. They were overprice at $600 AUD, but I suppose people always inflate the prices of things like this because theyre not usually made after a while

I'm about to get back into building models after 20 years and have fallen behind. How do you define 'Perfect Grade"?
This is the only "Perfect Grade" model I have made. As far as I'm aware it's just a Bandai marketing term.

Hi...
Hello there...
I went from Chicago to Shanghai in first class (18 hours) and it still sucked.
700€ !!!!!
Cool model but a bit overpriced for a Bandai kit well at least on Amazon where I see it selling for $375 I think that’s about $200 to much
Your paint isn’t flat enough it’s too shiny and for a almost $400 model kit you would think you would want it to look just like the movie prop
Dislike cuz 2 many adds
thats why you use adblocker... i never see an add.
