There's a ton of core spells in the book for new players, and the best way I've learned is to modify the existing spells before you start making them from scratch! I've had some brand new TTRPG players get the hang of it after that
This is interesting, it would be fun to make a history with some bad guy trying to get some "artifact" that gives a lot of stamina to cast Nation wide spells or destroy the entire city
@williams.n.9443 I absolutely love this; stamina siphoning is a real concept for sure, so stamina /theft/ would be a really cool to have to fight against! Could a city cast that spell? 👀

This is by far the best part of the system, mostly because no one else does it I wonder how hard it will be to create spells the produce the effects of the Ten Surges from Stormlight Archive, or the Metallic Arts from Mistborn
Hm, some of this reminds me of the magic system I've been thinking about for a novel project: Everyone has a magical aura and casting spells requires one to focus and project the aura while either transforming the magic energy into something physical (like, say, fire) or transform the target directly. The projection part specifically is sort of like what you call "throats", and isn't a projectile so much as reaching out with ones aura. The range is determined by how much power you have but also your skill at projection. A given magician may be more skilled at focus than projection, or vice versa, or bad at both but skilled at transformation, etc.
Hey, I love that!! Crunchy magic systems I think are always really good for consistency, at least on my opinion; I find them to be a lot more solid in storytelling

I wonder what kinda power god-like beings have do they have bypasses of the system in place or are given a mass amount of stamina what is stopping them from overruling ( it is a term for gods that I made to check if that god Mirco manages his creation which isn't good). Do they have jobs that help manage the world systems or are they lazy gods ( gods that do nothing for the world)? What are DM to the world's outer creator or do they puppet the god's system. Do they have beings beyond god how do they interact with the system. I have so many questions.
@kaio0777 i absolutely love these questions so much; I think there's a couple answers here, with out getting too much into details (the book doesn't outline these yet, but future books will): The Gods often don't care much for humanoids unless they directly impact their domain. So ruling in such a way often doesn't appease them unless it is a part of their domain The world's moon is colonized and very powerful, and doesn't have such mana to be able to cast super spells like these, so even if they did manage to do this, a massive backlash would happen that may make it harder There are interplanetary task forces that watch over things like this, essentially those meant to thwart apocolypse and monopolization of entire planets through war or extreme measure With that in mind, I'm not saying it's /impossible/ 👀
@@oridont i see i will buy your stuff because making god beings, heroes and demi-gods are my thing so i will have to see how i can "break" muscle pass or provide on context for this intresting.
@oridont It adds a spell book that allows you to create custom spells by combining different glyphs. There are glyphs that change how the spell works like is it a projectile or do you touch a block etc. There are effects like harm, break, explode, place block, etc. And there are glyphs that change the effect like amplifying it or making a larger aoe
Use Elemental Matter to create a replica of yourself and all your items, lets say that you use about the same amount as if it were magimatter so around 1000pp, then use Transmutation to make the matter into the same matter that makes up flesh and bone and whatnot but not living around 20,000pp , then use Reshape Object make the this matter able to function. It bassically is now a husk of a being, with all functional organs and everything, but not alive and without a soul, 60pp. Use Necromancy Ressurect to make this body living and able to have a will, lets say around 100 pp so it has a DR of 10. At this point you have a clone which you can chose to give a willpower or not. Use perpetual to make the clone last forever, thou you will permenetly lose the amount of pp you use for the spell. You can do this at a distance with Throw spells, which can combine with the swap sole thing to make a bootleg teliportaion.
HEHEHEHEHEE I love this so much. Become powerful enough that you just go around making clones you design and embody them when you feel like it (Essentially Minecraft but with keep inventory off)
One of the enchantment arts feature is perpetual where you can turn the spell use dph and raise the cost by 10 to make it last until disbelled, not sure if it will get changed thought
I have a friend who's in love with Jujitsu Kaisen who I want to make play Utopia, it might sound a little cheesy, but how do I make a Domain Expansion? Thanks
Absolutely! I had to do a little bit of research, and I think the Discord or Reddit could go much more in depth but here's my answer: Likely, you'd build a wake around yourself and have effects within the Wake of the spell; if you want a metaphysical wall of sorts you'd need to build some type of barrier to prevent people from leaving. My first though is using delay to force people in, in the case that they try to leave. Alteration would be able to activate your own abilities to much higher degree and give yourself a much higher level of power, but we'd need to twincast that to make it happen~ Illusion would also be helpful in this instance just to enforce any type of sensory you want to enforce on your opponent I think that the later magicks of Utopia will help with this concept a ton, but I bet you could do some cool stuff already :D (just a warning, you gotta be really powerful to di all the stuff I just said)
Very disappointed that there is as of yet no mechanic for teleporting my enemies directly into heck. I guess the next best thing is to overwrite all of their senses and create a large image around them, and inflict lingering thermal plus terror on them to simulate the conditions of heck. Gotta throw in 30 stacks of telekinetic halt to really make sure they cant get away either, and then Muse III to ensure maximum trauma. For the low price of 91.5 stamina you can have your foes going to therapy for years!
That sounds amazing! You know, since you already paid the cost for a large Illusion, I'll throw in one stack of Insight for the LOW cost of 5 stamina, and you can learn their worst fear too!! What a bargain!!
@Gamewizard13th I mean.... If you're using siphoning, rituals, building temples? You could possibly manage it around level 1,000 with some hard work and a good enough following 👀
10:59 You know, I cant help but feel that that last spell was an absolute colossal waist of magical energy😅😅😅 (which I know is the whole point of the joke😊) The hypothetical Wizard spent SOOOOOOOOO much magical power on enveloping the ENTIRE planet in a massive fireball....and it only does 1d4 fire damage😂😂😂 Granted that would probably cause global forest fires and heat up the planet and oceans, but is that REEEEALY worth 65,546,850 stamina😅 Now, if they invested a tiny 1% extra stamina in damage, he could have a spell that can, oh yeah, VAPORIZE the entire planet in an instant😂😂. Preaty much go full "Hakai" on the globe.
Oh, you are absolutely 100% correct! (Somebody did mention that it would consume all of the oxygen on Earth, so maybe that's a plus) But you could also go hard and use Chill damage, or use Energy damage for your own little customized effects (or do all 3, use your own personal brand of world destruction, ya know?)
@@oridont That's absolutely true.😁 (Although I'm not 100% curtain about the "consume all oxygen" thing. Thought of elaborating more, but I'll let you decide if I should😅) You are right that with the options of cold and energy damage you can do a lot with this spell....but at the end of the day its still 1d4, which doesn't seam like much. Which kind of touches on the main reason why I said this is a unbelievable waist of energy😅😅😅😅😅 This spell affects the ENTIRE world, which means that over 95% of the spell is spent heating or cooling the planet itself ( aka tectonic pates, lower mantel, molten core...) and the oceans, and well over 95% of the leftover 5% is is just damaging the empty sky The "world" that we all imagine (the surface, the mountains, and all the things and space between them) is a meaningless fraction of the full domain of the spell, and since (as I said before) its just 1d4, the energy is so thinly spread that it wouldn't have an especially big effect on the world. However, if you have a spell that's powerful enough to obliterate solid rock and metal into dust (which at over 500 000 stamina I have to assume it would), then you not only have a spell that can destroy the world, but practically ATOMISE anything, everywhere all at once. This is a fun scenario that really highlight the astronomical difference in size between "The world" and The planet, and the difference in power required to destroy either of them. Its something that most people think they understand, but really don't😅 I hope you would forgive the long winded response. I loved your your video and had so much fun pondering the possibilities and implications of the scenario you described🥰 Wish you all the luck with perfecting this system and making UTOPIA a reality
@@oridont On a side note, I am curious. How do you calculate the magic stamina for the damage of the spell (2d6 5d20, 15d100.....) Also, do you have any ideas on how much damage it would take to destroy inanimate objects like walls and building, or types of materials like, say a bolder of a curtain size?
@viktormadzov5286 For sure! That's based on what damage type you're doing, but generally it's an average of 1.5 stamina per d4 of elemental damage instantaneous, or 3 stamina per d4 of lingering elemental damage; Psyche damage is a little more expensive, and dice can be distributed in any fashion as long as the maximum is the same Structures don't have innate statblocks, but that's something I'll be including in the future since I know how important that can be
@@jobobminer8843 I can send you a link on Discord if you'd like! If you jump into the server and ask for it, somebody will have it for you in no time :)
you could flavour anything to those but innately different "types" of energy isn't really built into the system. Magic uses Mana and divination is a by-product of that, as is necromancy and all other arts from my understanding reading the book at least.
I think it kind of depends on what you mean by energy; I think a lot of those things exist but they're not compiled all into the same categories; for instance, some creatures may have some of those innately whereas of those are Arcane Arts dependent

But this is OP! I should really join the discord, I'm missing so much...
@kaio0777 i absolutely love these questions so much; I think there's a couple answers here, with out getting too much into details (the book doesn't outline these yet, but future books will):
The Gods often don't care much for humanoids unless they directly impact their domain. So ruling in such a way often doesn't appease them unless it is a part of their domain
The world's moon is colonized and very powerful, and doesn't have such mana to be able to cast super spells like these, so even if they did manage to do this, a massive backlash would happen that may make it harder
There are interplanetary task forces that watch over things like this, essentially those meant to thwart apocolypse and monopolization of entire planets through war or extreme measure
With that in mind, I'm not saying it's /impossible/ 👀
@@oridont i see i will buy your stuff because making god beings, heroes and demi-gods are my thing so i will have to see how i can "break" muscle pass or provide on context for this intresting.

I dub thee “set everyone on fire” spell… Scorching Earth!
SCORCHING EARTH (but not too scorching, just pretty scorching)
God forbid that the instant elemental costs 3 stamina instead of 2
btw the earth fireball would probably instantly consume all oxygen on the planet
@@elithegreat5590 I knew something cool would happen
This system reminds me of a Minecraft mod called Ars Noveua (I probably spelt it wrong but its New Magic in French)
Oooo I love MC magic mods; what does that one do? 👀
@godved66 OHHHH oh that sounds fun; I absolutely see the similarities 😁
I must ask the all-important question…

Hey oridont will there be any pre-made campaigns coming soon? Im hoping to start a game with friends
I'm hoping to have some soon; once the game is up and published, I'll be hoping to set up some prebuild campaigns!
@oridont thank you so much
Use Elemental Matter to create a replica of yourself and all your items, lets say that you use about the same amount as if it were magimatter so around 1000pp, then use Transmutation to make the matter into the same matter that makes up flesh and bone and whatnot but not living around 20,000pp , then use Reshape Object make the this matter able to function.
Become powerful enough that you just go around making clones you design and embody them when you feel like it (Essentially Minecraft but with keep inventory off)
ah cool, thank you
is there any way at all to have a spell with infinite duration?
One of the enchantment arts feature is perpetual where you can turn the spell use dph and raise the cost by 10 to make it last until disbelled, not sure if it will get changed thought
@skellysilverlight8669 Yep, just what Chrirox said! Though do be aware, those spells cost DHP instead of stamina, and have some adverse effects
Oh, they mentioned the DHP, too; they're on top of things
What's stopping you from using the summon/crafting spell from evocation to summon a potion that causes you to regain stamina?
can't use evocation to make consumables~
Rain got it! But that is very clever 👀
I have a friend who's in love with Jujitsu Kaisen who I want to make play Utopia, it might sound a little cheesy, but how do I make a Domain Expansion?
Thanks
Absolutely! I had to do a little bit of research, and I think the Discord or Reddit could go much more in depth but here's my answer:
Likely, you'd build a wake around yourself and have effects within the Wake of the spell; if you want a metaphysical wall of sorts you'd need to build some type of barrier to prevent people from leaving. My first though is using delay to force people in, in the case that they try to leave. Alteration would be able to activate your own abilities to much higher degree and give yourself a much higher level of power, but we'd need to twincast that to make it happen~ Illusion would also be helpful in this instance just to enforce any type of sensory you want to enforce on your opponent
I think that the later magicks of Utopia will help with this concept a ton, but I bet you could do some cool stuff already :D (just a warning, you gotta be really powerful to di all the stuff I just said)
@@oridont Thanks man
Very disappointed that there is as of yet no mechanic for teleporting my enemies directly into heck.
What would be your theoretical level to cast planet fire be
@Gamewizard13th I mean.... If you're using siphoning, rituals, building temples? You could possibly manage it around level 1,000 with some hard work and a good enough following 👀
@@oridont at that level, there might be easier ways to destroy a planet
@Gamewizard13th oh, likely, but I personally found this one very funny
10:59 You know, I cant help but feel that that last spell was an absolute colossal waist of magical energy😅😅😅 (which I know is the whole point of the joke😊)
The hypothetical Wizard spent SOOOOOOOOO much magical power on enveloping the ENTIRE planet in a massive fireball....and it only does 1d4 fire damage😂😂😂
Granted that would probably cause global forest fires and heat up the planet and oceans, but is that REEEEALY worth 65,546,850 stamina😅
Now, if they invested a tiny 1% extra stamina in damage, he could have a spell that can, oh yeah, VAPORIZE the entire planet in an instant😂😂. Preaty much go full "Hakai" on the globe.
Oh, you are absolutely 100% correct! (Somebody did mention that it would consume all of the oxygen on Earth, so maybe that's a plus)
But you could also go hard and use Chill damage, or use Energy damage for your own little customized effects (or do all 3, use your own personal brand of world destruction, ya know?)
@@oridont That's absolutely true.😁
(Although I'm not 100% curtain about the "consume all oxygen" thing. Thought of elaborating more, but I'll let you decide if I should😅)
You are right that with the options of cold and energy damage you can do a lot with this spell....but at the end of the day its still 1d4, which doesn't seam like much.
Which kind of touches on the main reason why I said this is a unbelievable waist of energy😅😅😅😅😅
This spell affects the ENTIRE world, which means that over 95% of the spell is spent heating or cooling the planet itself ( aka tectonic pates, lower mantel, molten core...) and the oceans, and well over 95% of the leftover 5% is is just damaging the empty sky
The "world" that we all imagine (the surface, the mountains, and all the things and space between them) is a meaningless fraction of the full domain of the spell, and since (as I said before) its just 1d4, the energy is so thinly spread that it wouldn't have an especially big effect on the world.
Its something that most people think they understand, but really don't😅
I hope you would forgive the long winded response. I loved your your video and had so much fun pondering the possibilities and implications of the scenario you described🥰 Wish you all the luck with perfecting this system and making UTOPIA a reality
@@oridont On a side note, I am curious.
How do you calculate the magic stamina for the damage of the spell (2d6 5d20, 15d100.....)
Also, do you have any ideas on how much damage it would take to destroy inanimate objects like walls and building, or types of materials like, say a bolder of a curtain size?
@viktormadzov5286 For sure! That's based on what damage type you're doing, but generally it's an average of 1.5 stamina per d4 of elemental damage instantaneous, or 3 stamina per d4 of lingering elemental damage; Psyche damage is a little more expensive, and dice can be distributed in any fashion as long as the maximum is the same
Structures don't have innate statblocks, but that's something I'll be including in the future since I know how important that can be
@@viktormadzov5286 I really love the little rants, they make me happy to have just little thought experiments here and there

how many types of energy exist ki,mana,aura,divinty,anti-divnty,force,vodo enrgy, nen, cosmc enrgy which is do you use???
you could flavour anything to those but innately different "types" of energy isn't really built into the system.
