There was even a guy at a nursery I visited years ago that built concrete posts using PVC drain pipe as forms and he elevated his planters using the posts. Looked incredible.
Thanks for the tip :) Might be a stupid question but could someone write down what the three 'ingredients' are please? It's me being german, living in UK and not knowing these words , sorry :/
Thanks for the answer. I wonder why they don't sell smaller bags for DIY'ers? I guess they make more money on the smaller pre mixed stuff they don't bother.
NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR FROGS GUY. Nature's indicator species, can't regulate transfer of potential toxic chemicals into their dermis. You my man. Live somewhere relatively safe n green. Be blessed by the bringer of rain. Unless you in one of those poor ass flood hit states that is.... X
'Grow your heirlooms...because dependency sucks'...excellent tag line....love it... and subbed. Thanks & Peace to ya.
Love the frog song. Rough mix the dry before adding the wet... Just like making biscuits. Good video.
Best advice ever.
Thanks! You make that look easy and fun. I've saved your DIY Hypertufa Pots to my publicly shared list.
Hypertufa planter.....there it's on my "to do" list. Those would look really nice lining a walkway. Thanks for sharing:)
YW, BTW you can even get a concrete coloring and add it to the mix for "colored" hypertufa pots.

Grow Your Heirlooms I'd like to see a pic of that.
Thanks for showing how to do this. I'm building my first box form today!!! :)
This was very interesting Grow Your Heirlooms! I think I may give this a try at some point! :)
Nice Demo video. I had never heard of these planters!
Chuck
They would be awesome for your huge greenhouse (which I drool over every time I see it :-) )
Great DYI pot video ! Do they hold up to tough freeze thaw cycles ?
I was wondering the same thing *****!
Yes, they hold up very well. I made lots of them in Alaska and they went through the winters there no problem.
Oh nice ! That might be an interesting way to add levels to my garden
Mine lasted around 8-10 years!
excellent job and presentation. TY.
Thx
never heard of this. thanks!
Looks like something I may have to try... thanks for sharing!
frogs are awesome!
Great informative video. Thank you

You can also throw in some cement color to get rid of that grey.
Good idea thanks
Pretty cool!
Never heard of hypertufa. I thought it had to do with dental problems. (lol)
I need to get out more. :)
LOL Me too!
Neato! Thank for the demo :)
These DIY hypertufa pots look too easy to not try! I already have all of the ingredients!
Proper water cement ratio is .3% of your total cement.
Why not make a form for the inside and pack the Hypertufa between the forms?
+gardenman3 That would certainly work.
What's the difference between Portland cement and other types? I asked at our hardware store and they didn't have a small bag of Portland.
Portland is more of a powdery mix and is used for a base for different types of concrete. It has no rocks or gravel in it.

Don't be sorry about the frogs, everyone likes frogs.
Its ok to use coco peat?
I have never tried it with coco peat
