My dad, my best friend and I started a weekly smoker’s club where we meet and smoke a cigar or two. Last night we talked about our week, a book I’m reading, golf, cigars and as it always creeps into everything, politics. I look forward to it all week. Memories in the making. Slow down, relax, laugh, and have a tasty smoke.

YES! I love seeing the way cigar smokers create groups and clubs with no motive other than hanging out with good people and sharing good times. I wish everyone had a group like yours to belong to. Keep it up man!

Yeah man, I have a group of guys that meets once a month at local cigar bar. There’s a real estate guy, insurance guy, lawyer, musician, cop, and my dad - 22 year navy vet. I look forward to it all month. The conversation, cigars, drinks, etc. are amazing, but the relationships developed are equally so!

There's a lot of stuff out there about how men need "third spaces," meaning some place other than home and work. Men used to start clubs like these all the time, but we've gotten away from it because of suburban sprawl separating us, among others. Cigar shops are another place like that. I mean, women show up, too, but guys like to meet up at cigar spots because they like to hang out with the guys. Easily the most integrated, welcoming, and chill atmosphere one will find in any random city in the USA.

I have anxiety disorder, being calm and relaxed is a rare thing for me. Until I lit up a cigar for the first time. After that, I knew I'd found my therapy. The world and all the problems just vanish in the smoke. And all that's left is just me and a good stick.

Totally agree. I only smoke a cigar when the I can sit in peace and quiet in the comfort of my patio when the weather is pleasant. If that means I don't get a stick in for a week or two (or even more sometimes) well, that's fine with me. 100% agree! I know a lot of people who will finish a cigar even if they don't like it. On one hand, I get it. If you don't have a ton of money to spend on cigars, you might not want to let one go to waste. On the other hand, I know people who just stubbornly smoke bad cigars out of principle, which kinda seems crazy to me. lol

Good morning from New Jersey! I'm currently puffing on a Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra. It's so lovely!
I've lost sight of the simplicity of it once. I was making a video review and had a stick that wouldn't stay lit. When I opened it up I saw it was a sandwich and I flipped out. It was a $9 stick and I got lost in the snobbery of it all. A few days later I remembered my cigar roots: if it tastes good, who cares if it's a sandwich? Since then I've smoked the cigar again and had a great experience with it.

I live in Cali and I smoke cigars at 18, started the hobby at 17. It’s 21+ to buy and smoke, but I’ve been lucky to only get ID checked once in a while. I have around 20 sticks of different cigar brands, I smoked a Guerrero cigar straight from Mexico this early morning and pleasantly ate a McDonald’s biscuit muffin and drank coffee. I saw the sunrise, felt the warmth of the sun, heard the sounds of nature, birds chirping leaves rustling. This was at a park your not allowed to smoke but no one is there with kids at 5:40am to 7:00am. It was my cigar and I alone in peace. I Enjoyed the cigar with a backwoods torch lighter to have a even burn, and played some tunes in my ear as I sat and sipped coffee as I smoked.

My wife and I started this “hobby“ together. We enjoy sitting down at least once a week with an audiobook or just in the quiet enjoyment of our company together and forgetting about everything else for the 45mins to 2 hours that it takes to get through a cigar together. We enjoy discussing the different flavor profiles that are unique to one another. It always amazes me just how different our pallets are at times :-)

For me a cigar is all about stopping and taking the time to enjoy the moment. Everything in my life is always in a rush. Even the stuff I love. I will find a way to rush it and move on to the next. I have found out that rushing a cigar totally destroys the flavor, and the whole experience of it all. Like a sunset, I must slow down and enjoy the time that it takes to enjoy the whole experience of it all. Same with a cigar, I must slow down and enjoy the time that it takes to enjoy the whole experience. Slow down people and enjoy the simple things in life.

For me, cigars are all about one single word. Experience. I get to relax and enjoy the experience of smoking a cigar. I get to experience the flavors. Experience the smells. All the sensations that come out of that little bundle of leaves. As I gain more experience in my experiencing, I gain experience in what I enjoy and what I do not. I also love to try new cigars and experience the new aspect of the thing I already love. Sometimes I find something new that I want again, and sometimes I chalk it up to experience and add one to the do-not-smoke list.

I smoke with one good friend of mine that I convinced about smoking every now and then, with the last one we smoked, a Foundation Charter Oak, I tried to recognize all of the notes on it when he suddenly interrupted me and said "Manuel, I'm going to tell you something. I don't know what the hell you are talking about when you get talk about the notes. To me, this taste like very good tobacco and I like it that way. That's it"
He was just able to enjoy a great time with a friend, and that is another level of wisdom.

Got into cigars this past fall and am looking forward to sitting outside in the warm weather with nice stogie and the smoker going. Never thought I’d ever try tobacco but I’m glad I found cigars.

I thought about this recently. I've been buying And trying so many new cigars lately. I get so busy trying new cigar after new cigar that I have a good amount of favorites in my humidor that are getting neglected. Always fun to try new cigars, I mean heck that's the only way to find new favorites and discover ones you don't like. But sometimes it's nice to just grab a stick that you know you love and not constantly try to pull out flavor notes and evaluate every aspect of a new smoke. Trying new stuff is fun, but I find smoking an old favorite to be much more relaxing. Good video!

Yes. You nailed it. I've backed away from a lot of cigar people that constantly band and brand chase and over do all the minutia of it. God bless them, its their money. But, it becomes snobbery after a while.

For me like many others enjoying a cigar just slows the world down. It can be paired with a glass of bourbon, a beer, or a cup of coffee. Most times I start out smoking it on my own, but many times my wife comes and sits with me, and we sit and enjoy the quiet together.

Usually only smoke a cigar in the summer when outside relaxing on the deck. Some times I will lite up while grilling and add in a bottle of craft beer.

I loved the video. I'm not really a cigar smoker but love a good cigar every year or so. I really enjoy moist snuff more than any tobacco product. It's relaxing to me and I enjoy it. The things you said about enjoying the moment while smoking applies to dipping to. It's great and simple

When I think of cigars there is this feeling of elegance to it , and the community on UA-cam and Instagram has been beyond great, getting cigars sent to you by followers and then sending cigars back to them to try. I feel like i have to force myself to find time just to sit down with a nice drink & cigar and relax & with the hype behind some I try and keep my excitement about them low so I don't set the cigar up for failure lol

After work is over, and daily routine is completed, and after a shower. But before I brush my teeth.
Is when I smoke a cigar once in a while.
But I really like smoking right before and during a storm.
I injoy these videos, and I injoy the sence of humor

I smoke by myself on the back patio or the shack out back, but it's not nearly as much fun as meeting up at the lounge. I have found that cigar smokers are generally community minded. For instance, I have never lit my pipe and looked for a you tube channel about pipes!! But I'm frequently checking in here and enjoying not only show content but the comments as well! In the last few weeks, I was layed off. I visited 3 lounges and met with cigar clubs. I also went to cigar church (Amen...there is one!!) And, of course, I met up with 2 friends to smoke. Cigars are great on their own, but most importantly, they bring people together.

I have my go to cigars. I do also enjoy the rare and limited hard to find hard to get sticks. It is kind of like a hobby with inside a hobby it is more about the hunt. Lots of time most of the time when if find one I hold on to it for a while before I enjoy it.

    Hey Tim,
I’ve been watching you since the TNT days. Firstly, congratulations on the new HQ! You growth and success in the cigar industry is an inspiration for an entire online community of cigar smokers. This video’s format is really great for getting to know your thoughts and philosophies and I hope you keep this up. As always, thank you for your excellent content.
P.S. those neon lights in the background are a little harsh on the eyes and distracting (I only say this because I care!). Take care, Tim.

I'm lucky to live near an amazing shop and lounge (check out Cuban cigar club Newcastle if you're in the UK) but I try to keep it as simple as possible. What I love is trying new sticks regardless of expensive, cheap, hyped or hated and enjoying them for what they are. If I want to smoke a Davidoff Oro Blanco I will. If I wanna slight up a backwoods honey berry, I'll torch that up and enjoy it too! My favourite will always be smoking in a beer garden of a bar with my buddies and to me every stick is great when enjoyed that way

When I first got into smoking cigars I was very young. My uncle smoked cigars and I idealized my uncle, so I always thought cigar smoking was a signature love. So when I first started smoking cigars I was trying to be a pro, I complicated my pallet and cigar portfolio, spending tons of money on signature classics. I didn't enjoy cigars for their simplicity but for their signature, their perception. As I grew and gained wisdom and a more refined pallet, I learned to pick brands, shapes and types based on more personal preference. I learned how to simplify my cigar portfolio and now enjoy cigars for the sheer enjoyment of our vice.

I have been smoking cigars for almost 40 years (started before 18). Cigars are attitude changers. They break the ice with strangers. They help you make new friends. Just sit back--enjoy. Let nature's equilibrium bring you back to center with a cigar you enjoy.

I just ordered a sampler, a cutter and a lighter, waiting to get the package next week. I smoked a small part of one cigar when I was 19. That was before youtube, before I knew anyone who smoked, and I had no idea what I was doing. I inhaled, and got sick. That was 17 years ago. I'm trying it again now after watching your videos, we will see how it goes.

I completely went crazy. I now have probably 500 cigars that may be good, may be alright, or I will not finish because they are not good. I bought in to the hype when I first started back smoking cigars and tried to find the rare, tasty hard to get existential experiences, but come back to the ones I love more often than not. Oliva, Baccarat, Davidoff, Caldwell and Room 101. That is what I should stick to. Thank God for Cigars for Warriors, they will gain my losses. :)
