You see this with all people who are deeply knowledgeable about the nature of the human spirit and the nature of the spirit of Christ. You can see and feel he has reached somewhere where only pure understanding and compassion reigns. Yet he is not quoting the Bible or preaching to you he is talking with you. I would rather choose an hour of casual conversation with this individual than with someone else teaching me about the Bible. You tend to become what to adore and the priests of now a days have forgotten what it means to embody the spirit of Christ. Thats why Mother Theresa was Mother Theresa, and people bash her because she was to understanding almost to a fault. Just as dismissive of sin as Jesus. Thank you father this was a very insightful perspective you offered to the wider public.
Mother Teresa had to bare the effects of depression which contributed to her personality. God used the depression for a purpose in her life. Now she is at peace.
I respectively wonder about this "I was sent to keep her in line and the other sisters in line" with the needs of the archdiocese. Many young or even not so young people are leaving the church based on such statements, beliefs.
Mary was not perfect, nor did she or the Bible ever make claims that she was perfect. In fact she didn't even realize who her son was until after the Cross. The same as the 12 who all scattered when Jesus died and we're not expecting him to return. Jesus was the only perfect person (God in the flesh). Because he was God in the flesh is the only way he could live perfectly. If Mary or Mother Teresa had been taken to the top of the temple and offered the world they would have taken it, as would every other human who has ever lived.
Mary didn't realize who her son really was until after He was on the cross ? Didn't he tell His mother Mary after they found him that he was in his father's house. Didn't she know then ? Also, Jesus being concieved by the Holy Spirit may have been a good indication.
Mary, The Immaculata, was and will always be the most perfect of all God's Creation. Mary, the Mother of God, the Mother of us all, was conceived without the stain of original sin and as such had no defects nor effects of original sin. Unlike us wretched sinners, for we are conceived with the stain of original sin and it's effects last a lifetime, even though Baptism cleanses us from original sin the effects of it last, death being the final effect of original sin. God willing, after our death may we then enter into everlasting life with Him. Praise be Jesus! Ave Maria!
Oh when the ArchAngel Gabrielle comes to tell you your going to bring forth Then Son Of GOD , IM SURE THE BLESSED MOTHER DIDN'T KNOW, YOU SHALL BE CALLED BLESSED. HMM READ A BOOK.
You forgot Adam and Eve were created perfect and without sin. They fell. The Blessed Virgin Mary (the new Eve, Christ the new Adam) didn’t fall. “All generations will call me Blessed.” - The Gospel of Luke Follow the Bible and refer to her as Blessed!
As a Buddhist and an atheist, I find this man utterly persuasive.
We feel small and lacking before a Saint. Yet the saint feels small and lacking before God. Humbling to know how far we have to go...
This gentleman has such a soothing and sleepy voice.
Prayer has that effect
That was just sooo good..... "we have to reach beyond ourselves to Christ."
Great video - the first time I've been able to get a close look at one of the people who led me to the Catholic Church.
