I genuinely feel like they were going in the right direction. I was under the impression that Vander looked like that because the transformation was incomplete. After the climatic ending where they meet the Herald, I thought THAT was it, THAT was the catalyst as close as it was in the source material, his death. It's even more of a head scratch moment when they released the Arcane Warwick skin which shows his lycan appearance like?? Later on, the design did grow on me but this just made me truly wish we had that Warwick instead.
If I was to guess I'd say he'll get his more accurate design after his "death" or at least I'm hoping. I imagine they didn't give him the full design for the final part because they wanted the Vi trying to save him to feel more natural.
@@dolphinpower1107 I believe the game skin Vander Warwick is the aftermath of his "death" Finally he became complete and his tail kind of represents the pink explosion a bit.

Based on what I heard from the producer, I think they underestimate just how much the audience can easily sympathize with a monster character. Plus, Warwick could’ve been an easy one, why? Cause he’s a goddamn canine. We all know how universally loved dogs are, and with Warwick, it would’ve been so adorable to see this blood hunting beast turned into a very sweet husky trying to be as gentle as possible when he’s around Vi, Jinx, and Isha.

@chilljammer_ I don't necessarily want og Warwick. I just think a muzzle would look cool. I wouldn't be opposed at all to the current design just having a more animalistic face, but that's just me.
I thought his Wolf head would come in after Isha blew Warwick and herself up. As Singed ends up replacing his head with one of the Mirkwolf heads. Which is when all of Vander's humanity is gone.
Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't give him his in-game face. I mean, they even lead up to it perfectly, with Isha being shown shooting upwards, and later we see Vanderwick's "corpse" with an unhinged jaw. Surely Singed would fix that up, right?

Im fine with the face they gav him. I always liked the retro werewolf style. Besides in a show like Arcane where a lot of characters need to display a wide range of emotions I think it would not be possible with a wolfhead like warwick's. The half human half wolf face gets the job done, they can display so many more nuanced emotions on his face and relay their intentions clearer to the viewer.

But I agree, they probably should've gone a bit more furry werewolfy after he officially dies and got resurrected as a void thrall or whatever, to appease people who played the game or whatever.
My thoughts were that they used that more orc-like face for Warwick because it's more accurate to his lore.
