Favorite part of working on my vehicles is hitting my head or my own face with tools. Lol
Mine is crawling on the ground under a truck undoing 20 year old fasteners. Makes me smile Everytime! 😩
Please tell me your not alone in that shop wearing a mask. Great video though.
So there is obviously someone else there if you pay attention and who asked for your opinion? I'm sure he can make his own choices as an adult
Times change. Smart mechanics now days wear gloves on their hands and masks for protection against carcinogenic products. Lots of asbestos stuff when working around the drums.
When you install a helper leaf spring to a trailer, does it also go more towards the back like people often do for trucks? Or same?
When you lift up the body of the vehicle to weightlessness, could you use that to tell what kind of shape the leaf springs are in based on if they moved a bit or not from having weight on them? Thanks.
Aesome video!
Was this leaf added to fix sag? Cause that’s what I was thinking about doing instead of buying all new leaf packs. None of this looks particularly fun however lol
I did the just to boost the height a couple inches for offroading. You could do it to fix sag although as it raises one end the other will probably drop a little bit as weight transfers.
Can you add leafs to a 1992 buick riviera?
No alignment plates ?
I've all ways re- used my U bolts the only time I ever replaced them if they are damaged
where can i buy that
Where did you get the add a leaf from
You probably had the new spring backwards, thats why the front was longer...
How's it ride?
No real noticeable difference. Changing the shocks made a much bigger difference in ride.
Why cut the leaf? Why not just use it as the top leaf?
That bottom thick overload spring will not be comfortable!
Try it on the other side
I assume you're talking about the vise grips. I went with the side that still had teeth.
Lol
Good info. I like the idea of re-threading the rusted bolts. I want my mechanic to do this on my truck so this was perfect to allow me to understand what I'm paying for and better evaluate what I'm willing to spend.
