My socio-economic background and baggage is something I have a very hard time sharing even with good friends, I admire your vulnerability to share online, Jenny. Thank you for this ❤
I love the genuine and raw openness of each video. This is so real because it's a type of struggle and empathy that is really hard to explain if one doesn't experience this. It is such a big mindset to reframe finances with aspects like filial piety and self care for you. I hope this reaches many people !!
I'm delighted by this incredible experience. Coming from an Asian family facing financial challenges, it deeply resonates with me. Thank you for your openness and genuine sharing!
Thank you for sharing! I’m a first gen as well. I can relate to your experience on many different levels, even though we probably had different upbringings. In my family, it is expected that I help take care of my grandparents and provide financial support to my parents during their retirement. While my parents have accumulated some wealth over their careers, the fact that they are overseas leaves me uncertain about what the future holds. I often find myself asking the question: If the world were to end, do I have the financial means to support myself and my family? Sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. I also have the desire to eventually start something on my own, but I grapple with a sense of guilt that I would "abandon my family" to pursue my own aspirations. I appreciate you sharing your story, and I am incredibly proud of what you have accomplished! Looking forwards to more of your videos!!
Hey there! Honestly, that question doesn't sound ridiculous at all - I remember asking myself variations of that same question in the past - just want you to know you're not alone in feeling this way 🥲 Appreciate the kind words and your support!
