A part #6 about building the chassis pipe, cutting the cone and curving the pipe would be perfect! I can't find this info anywhere! Thanks for the content, a lot of valuable info here!
I noticed you mentioned that the dimensions are critical. I have first hand experience with that issue, according to my mechanic. I got an early run pipe for my cr250 two stroke and loved the power band. I crushed it three years later and ordered the exact same pipe. It was stamped. It didn't perform the same even though it was the same part number. My mechanic said that the stamp forms can wear out and change the dimensions slightly, changing the power.
This is such a great video, I have a better (clear ) understanding of why custom pipes cost what they do , their is a lot of work that goes into them. Awesome video , and thank you for sharing your knowledge and time.
STROKED Last year/ beginning of this I was planning on building and found a great channel were a guy showed how to use cone layout and explained how to set angels and so on and I just CANT find his channel
If you found his channel, let me know his channelname. Iam actually also planning a pipe with cone layout. Iam struggling a little bit with the right calculation of the pipe (length and diameters).
What Software do you use? How do you determine what hp it's going to make at your Target Max rpm? Do you Sell these Tuned Pipes? Have you made any for Older Skidoo/Rotax Singles 250, 277, 292, 299/300, 318/320, 335, 340? be nice to see the Dyno result of the Tuned Pipe!
Be nice if you didn't start halfway into making the Tuned Pipe! Like what Engine you're using? It's Stock Stock hp@rpm! Stock Porting or Race Porting! How you determine How much hp Increase your after at what rpm! What Tools are you using and weblinks to them, like the Roller! A Rotax 277UL was rated 26hp@6250rpm and 28hp@6400rpm with a 36mm Bing 54 Carb. Both used a Header/Muffler Exhaust. The same Base Engine as used in the Skidoo Snowmobile used the 277F and was rated 28hp@6750rpm with a Mikuni 34mm Carb. In the early 90's a Company Named R&D Aero made a Tuned Pipe for the 277UL 26hp version that made 30.5hp@6250rpm. If using it at 6500rpm Max, what is the Max Hp it can make? It's (72mm x 66mm) 268.8cc.
is there anyway this guy would be willing to respond to an email of mine? i need to build a custom 125cc pipe, tried cutting and welding an old fmf pipe but made it shorter to fit the chasis and it really messed up the tuning of the motor so i need some serious help haha, id be willing to pay for his help obviously, thanks.
@@danielsulik78 no help from this guy, just a lot more research, it just comes down to you cant compromise the pipe and unless you have the right sheet metal tools you cant really make a new one. You can cut and turn it tho, which take a lot of time to figure out how it will fit without taking any length out, cut on manufacturers welds and start turning and tacking from there until you have something that works.

This was great, thanks for posting!
Wow, time, labor , setup , machinery, get what u put into it !
hello excellent work can you tell me in which program you draw and print cones
Great stuff!
Ever considered hydraulically blowing them?means you can do the first centre and reverse in one hit.
Nice Video!
Can you show, how you cut the coned header section into angled cones?
Did you get any answers?
Nope.

STROKED yes, he explained easily, but to make the cones you needed to add different cones + some mm to compensate for bending
Which software do you use ?
What will happened if you put that on an r3 but only the big part change mufller only
I was wondering if you could make a 1997 800 storm pipe
Who would I have to talk to in order to make a custom pipe for an XLT with a 600 Xtra lite?
how can i get the diagrams because i have no idea how to how to calculate degrees and make them?

Hi. did you manage to solve it? I have exactly the same problem with the 65cc engine
