Hi, Waleska and Efra. Just so you know, Sarah G. Is the only singer in the Philippines or I mean, for now in the whole world who really can perform any kind of music genre at certain high level. Her rock and Rap are still unmatched in the Philippines.
Her opera singing too is incredible. I can't think of any music genre which she can't do. Most youtube reactors tagged her as the Genre Killer.
It's not that I'm bragging. But it's something that I'm really proud of her. she has been on top of her game for almost 2 decades and yet she remains the most humble artist/singer/performer in our country. She's also the most recognized and most awarded singer in the Philippine history (locally or internationally).

To effectively put herself into the character/message of the song is essentially what makes her stand out from the rest, especially in this industry of many good belters. Exactly, I theatre that that is the job of Jason Dy before he won The Voice Philippines .. He was serenading birthday celebrants .. He was paid I think to sing and serenade particularly perhaps guys are paying to serenade their girlfriends during birthdays and special occasion..
Thank you Waleska and Efra for discovering Filipino talents and shouting it out to the world. I am enormously grateful of your appreciation and promotion of such talents. I am 65 years old now but I still remember that during my school days starting at grade 2 up until my university days back in the Philippines, schools, both public and private had a yearly singing competitions from solos to choirs and we have Music as a subject (required in grade school and high school) and our music teacher would require every student to take auditions either for a choir or for a solo performance. I was an alto myself. Those who are tone deaf were still required to join the group as band members, or props/ costume assistants, or whatever they can do to help win the competitions. This was one of the reasons I enjoyed going to school then. I'm not sure tho if schools are still doing it there. We migrated to Canada right after I finished university. Sometimes I miss those singing competition days. I remember our school won twice in grade school and 3 times in high school. This is probably one of the reasons why Filipino children start singing (competition ready) at a very early age, mostly around 7 to 8 years old. AGAIN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

@@scoc253 It’s a known fact that she’s not the best vocalist from the Philippines and she knows it, I even used to think she’s not much of an artist as she hasn’t written a lot of songs yet or choreographed most of her performances like the new OPM artists. Before, I just see her as a total performer only, but if you’ll get to know how much passionate she is in her craft, her patience to improve her skills, you would see the kind of artist she is, meaning it’s not all about writing your own music or playing instruments. Her delivery of emotions, on how she can convey her message through her voice is already an art for me. She knows how to hype her crowd, which is why her fans enjoy her performances and would love to share that with everyone, that is maybe the reason why you feel she’s overhyped. Tbh, she wasn’t given much opportunities to sing her own songs, we mostly see her doing covers. There is more hype now to new OPM singers/artists than her.

As a biased Daryl fan, it's easy for me to point to the coaching shortcomings why he couldn't have been a more formidable opponent to Jason. I don't think Apl had a handle on how showcase him better. That said though, Jason's talent and win is undeniable as he really shone throughout. How much of that is attributable to Sarah is arguable, but it's hardly coincidence that her most her contestants win this thing.
