adding the height was essentially a good idea as adding a bit weight would also help in stability of this stand. great work !

Yeah, the gold onlays wd be cool if after painting them gold, the more intricate [parts were spray painted lightly with black, then lightly with gold again. or...silver as the first metallic sprayed on, then after the black, just a little gold. I like a more antique look for ornate pieces.
