Thank you much for preserving this sublime series. It’s a joy to see it again after so many years. Mireille Johnston’s knowledge of and passion for her country’s cuisine was clear for all to see.
Un gros merci for posting these. I was unaware she had hosted a TV series. Johnston's "The Cuisine of the Sun" & "The Cuisine of the Rose" are two of my favourite cookbooks - accessible & elegantly written.
Thank you, thank you and thank you again for uploading this remarkable series of programmes. I found the presenter utterly charming, the subject hugely informative and the delivery of the material unfussy and unpretentious. It's great to be reacquainted with Mme Johnston's impeccable series once again.
Now adays its Nadya Husain, Jamie Oliver, James Martin, Rick Stien all of them keep making curry and Indian food! Even Ainsley and Rachel Allen, raitha, Naan and Indian food! Strangley no Indian men appear! How bizzar?
I have never seen the BBC repeat this, yet Jamie Oliver seires one two three, four etc, I have seen repeated on a dozen occasions. Same wiht the hairy bikers Ricke Stien, Nigella Lawson, James Martin the so called BBC luvies!

Mr Whiting, Gratitude to you. And hearty agreement with all those who have commented on how inspirationally marvellous this Lady was.
Thank you John for allowing us to see this again - how could anyone forget her? Such charm, such knowledge and such modesty.. Petra
I remember watching this program when I was young. What a great show, didn’t realize that’s what I was about to see until it started playing

I remember the two series from early 1990’s and loved them. Also Maria Jose Sevilla.

I got so hungry watching this, and I could actually smell the food cooking...

Anyone remember her recipe of chicken breasts, mushrooms, mace and Jarlsberg cheese? I've lost it!
She’s tres easy on the eyes.
