@@Primetime_inc that definitely makes sense because I’ve only seen a bit of Rabbids but the stuff they put each through is insane (especially that one episode that turned into a racism lore meme idek lol)
She did say that it was the kids being mean, I think, and I’m not sure if you can technically call the Rabbids kids. But I can definitely understand if that was the show she was talking about. I thought of max and ruby because I checked out a clip of one of the episodes a while back for nostalgia purposes (and by clip I mean a max and ruby slander video, cause I was like “It’s a great show, how can you slander that?”) and it made me realize that Ruby was extremely toxic and bad to Max. I vaguely remember being mad at both of them, but never understood why. Now I finally understand and that’s why I’d thought of them. Actually, I’d be surprised if they’re even still airing that show today. So now, it’s either that, Rabbids (cause that’s a really good point) or Peter Rabbit (the Nickelodeon one because those kids were pretty mean in that one too).

I'm a 14 year old, and Bluey has completely been destroying me as a teenager. I love the show so much, that I've watched every episode, and I'm still rewatching the series over and over again.

I was introduced by my 5th grade teacher when it was rainy and we had to stay inside the classroom but everyone kept wondering if bluey was a boy or a girl and if bingo was a boy or a girl it was really fun everyone loved the show
I watched Bluey not too long after James's video on it dropped. I had been seeing it in my Disney+ recommendations for a while and never gave it any serious thought so when James went on and on about how good it was, I decided to give it a look. And was immediately blown away by how sweet and charming it was. The episode when Bingo sleepwalks is hands-down my favorite one because it is the most beautiful thing I have ever watched in my entire freaking life!
Sleepytime is the episode and it gives off heavy Fantasia vibes, I loved it so much ❤
Love your rant in the beginning, I totally understand what you mean and I’m glad you’re the type of parent to know what your kid is watching cause some shows while may seem harmless can accidentally teach a child bad things at such a young age so hearing you actually take time to know and care about what your daughter is watching is awesome
So the reason why Calliou is hated more over the years is because the book's character is based on an early 2000's parenting theory about Tantrums. The idea is your supposed to let the child throw their tantrum and let them continue it until they tire themselves out. The theory is your supposed to let your child express themselves to not be stifled and show the parent won't give in. Now I can understand the theory but in practice it's one of the most annoying things imaginable, especially in a public area. For one it's disturbing for the other people around to see a child throw a tantrum and the poor parent is supposed to just stand there and stop them form destroying anything. I'm sorry but this doesn't work as well as people thought it does. For one the parent has to suffer a huge amount of humiliation and if your in a public place there is no way a business is going to just let your kid throw a tantrum and disturb the other customers.
Exactly that’s permissive/neglectful parenting.
However the solution isn’t to punish him either as children don’t have impulse control AND they have a bunch of emotions, well adults know how to regulate those emotions into activities or different time periods, children don’t know how so they express it the only way they know how.
As a parent you should take your child to another room, wait for them to calm down, and then talk to them and explain to them why they can’t do that, you should give them options to get out those emotions and listen to your child and understand what caused the issue so you can avoid it happening in the future.
Now if the child is too young to be reasoned with. Then just leave the room and hold your child until they calm down or figure out the problem. If a child is too young to be reasoned with they have no clue how to stop crying or screaming and you just need to stay calm and patient.

Okay but getting high and watching Bluey was THE best decision I’ve ever made in my adult years. It made me apply to college (granted it’s community college, but higher education nonetheless). It made me reflect on a childhood I could BARELY REMEMBER and I could remember it more vividly. I became more emotionally intelligent towards kids, and people who have them. I have my inner child back, and my inner adult is thriving
My niece is 10 and looked at me sideways when I asked if she watched Bluey because she thought it was a show for younger kids like Cocomelon. Fast forward a few months down the line and she's requesting that we watch Bluey as a family.
I’m turning 32 soon, I am childfree by choice… I LOVE Bluey! Haha a lot of adults without kids watch it!

My new favorite reactions are relatively open minded, but still skeptical people, coming to the realization of how and why Bluey is amazing. It's almost always a 3 step journey. First is skepticism. Next is a premature assumption based on a few episodes. Then actual understanding with a dash of bewilderment, and lastly an unabashed adoration of the show on every level. Like poetry in motion.

Knowing that Bluey is voiced by actual kids I actually feel bad for the kids who auditioned and didn’t get the role. If it was an adult I wouldn’t care that much, but for the kids I genuinely hope they weren’t hurt about it😂
I don’t know the details about the casting, but from what I’ve heard, the kids in the show aren’t really actors and are just children of members of the production team.

It's just wholesome, funny, beautiful, intelligent TV. The heart that goes into making it is amazing. Makes me so proud to be Aussie.
I'm an adult and a fellow adult friend of mine and myself LOVE this show. It's got new episodes as of the past month, so the series is still going strong!!
This whole series caught us both by such surprise, it's genuinely so heartfelt and full of valuable life lessons, and it's like... an awesome slice of life series for ANYONE. It's got so many episodes that you can dive into, with underlining messages and meanings that are intended for adults to figure out, while also providing essential, wonderful lessons for kids (and heck , even parents too!!) !
Literally boggles my mind how a show like this can exist only NOW. This show should be a STANDARD on all preschool-based TV channels and programs! Seriously! It respects the intelligence of ALL its viewers!
There had been a couple of controversial moments, but the studio and creators are always ready to actually listen and make considerations and even potential edits for the episodes.
Flat Pack and Teasing had moments where the words “ooga-booga” were used. Some people were concerned with racist connotations from those words, especially concerning First Nations People. So, the studio changed the dialogue to just “ooh-ooh” in Flat Pack and “Shoobedowah” in Teasing.
There was also the opening of Exercise (one of the newest episodes released in Australia), which wound up completely cut because it equated a need to exercise to numbers on a scale but in a negative context, which concerned some nutritionists who had worked with children with body image issues.
And of course the Disney+ edits and episode banning, such as Dad Baby (Bandit pretends to be pregnant with Bingo, there is also a delivery scene) and Family Meeting (the trial to determine if Bandit farted, but that episode did wind up on Disney+ after the controversy was called out).

I won’t lie I’m a 20 year old and I watch all of bluey and the camping episode will always be my favorite ❤️
In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, in Australia Bluey is made and distributed by the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission), it's partly funded by the BBC, which has the broadcasting rights in England, and Disney has the rights for the US nad most international rights, as far as I know. Australia most recently got an episode about cricket, not sure how quickly the various distribution channels flow.
The only 'controversy' in Bluey is that some people thought one episode was 'fat-phobic' but that's already been sorted out, and I don't think there are any other controversies. also I'm 12 and watch bluey with no shame :D
I'm also 12, it's just that in my country high school starts in 7th grade which honestly makes me feel like I need to grow up, I haven't watched the actual show yet though, but it really seems like a good show that I'd watch with my baby brother.
I'm 12 too! I really want to watch Bluey on Disney+ because I don't know if Bluey was available in my country or not. But for now I watch Bluey in their channel

I’m 23 and love Bluey so much it’s my number 1 favorite show EVER. Mind you that i watched many other cartoons like Steven universe, gravity fall, loud house and Over a 100 Anime shows, nothing touched my heart like Bluey did :’)
My favourite episode of Bluey is without a doubt “Sleepytime”.
For the episodes that aren’t on Disney+, I do have this website where I watch cartoons, anime, and animated (and anime) movies. I rather not say the website for fear of algorithms finding the site and shutting it down and it’s a good database of sorts for cartoons and anime that aren’t on any of the streaming sites or got removed for ridiculous reasons (like Warner Bros Discovery cutting out so many cartoons from their service). It’s also where one can see cartoons from other countries as well, like China and Australia (so yea they got Bluey episodes). And the Bluey episodes they got are the original Australian broadcast versions, and it’s always caught up to date with the latest episode so you don’t have to wait for Disney+.
Honestly with the stuff Disney going through right with box office bomb of elemental and some of their other content. It’ll be quite a while for their streaming to add in the new Bluey episodes (and some of the new ones are really good)
I've found the episodes not on Disney here on UA-cam. Just gotta look for them.

If you want to see ALL the episodes uncensored and expand your horizons on Aussie cartoons, Bluey is still on its original streaming service (run by the tv channel that it origionally aired on) the online streamer is free. Im pretty sure new seasons are coming out too. They will be on there before they get shared anywhere else.

You might discover more shows that you apporve of and like made by similar studios.
Aussie shows dont really show much stuff that has to do with race because of how we are culturally. Most of us can see a person of any skin colour and ohr first thought is "oh look, another person. Thats cool"

I’ve gotten news that 10 new Bluey episodes that aren’t on Disney+ are going to be added somewhere in July! Like I think its July 22nd or something.
Also, there is a small controversy on the Bluey episode Exercise, but I don’t know much about it and I don’t want to get anything wrong. The thing that people didn’t like was censored by ABC or whatever its called.

It's a pity that Onesies isn't on Disney+. I know people go nuts for Sleepytime (though my ASD brain doesn't like it as much because I don't pick up on symbolism easily), but Onesies is top teir for me. It's fantastic because it's almost two episodes in one. The episode centres around Aunt Brandy coming to visit, who apparently hasn't visited in four years (a fact that's clearly a point of resentment for Chili). Aunt Brandy brings onesies for the kids to wear, and Bingo gets very in character while pretending to be a cheetah, which keeps the episode light for the kids. Later, when Bluey and Chili are hiding from Bingo, Bluey asks her mum why Brandy doesn't visit. Her mum explains that there's something that Brandy really wants, and she can't have it because 'it wasn't meant to be'. As she says this, we see Brandy playing with Bingo, and then Bingo runs off to look for her next victim. As she runs, we see Brandy's arms reaching out as if to grab the child she never got and will never get to have. The episode is hilarious, but the symbolism for the parents is fantastic.
