There is no group ever who can be as great on as many different kinds of a music as The Manhattan Transfer, especially during Tim Hauser's time, but today they are still touchable in their brilliance.
Their blend is so perfect, it's hard to know who is singing which part. Perfection! And their phrasing is just phenomenal. Each one of them a complete musician, and arranger, not 'just a singer'. I had the privilege of meeting them at the Blue Note in NYC before Tim Hauser sadly passed away, and they were just so gracious and wonderful. One of my favorite groups.
Janis Siegel is an underrated singer. Sharp, clear, agile articulation, and a mic that's up to the challenge.
