Here you have the smartest man in America related to wildfire suppression. Northern California in particular needs this man and his company to help put a stop to catastrophic wildfires. Time to make major changes and this is the person that can make it happen if he is not bogged down by the bureaucracies within CalFire and USFS. Thank you, Mr. Coulson.

Public speaking 101 here. When you know your subject backwards and forwards, you can clearly relate the subject matter to anyone. It appears that he not referring to notes nor a teleprompter. Pure organized information. That is why he is the CEO.

You don't need to refer to notes or a teleprompter when you're talking utter BS. Have a look at Wayne's shifty body language, averted gazes, and frequent umms & ahhs - especially when asked about the Cal Fire C130 tanking process. Scratch the surface and ask yourself why the government might have an incentive to slow the process. Could it be that Coulson's C130 conversions aren't supported by Lockheed or certified by the FAA? The USFS assumes responsibility for the airworthiness for the C130s and 737s on contract (which extends to Australia), and Cal Fire rightly doesn't want any part of assuming liability for the airworthiness of those aircraft.
Wayne talks a lot about grid tests, but following his chief pilot flying a perfectly good 737 into the ground in Australia, Coulson has decided to fly much higher & faster than before, without bothering to redo the grid tests at the higher speeds/altitudes. The suggested response would have instead been to focus your aircrew training on ensuring all assigned flight parameters are maintained.

Only 22 aircraft and 9 different types? That sounds like a training, maintenance and logistical nightmare.
