Honestly it's between MC Cheung and Edan Lui for gold newcomer this year. It's a tough decision for 903 because both have potential and released hit songs this year. In terms of singing and RnB songs I would choose MC Cheung. Edan co-wrote his own 1st plug and knows how to play the piano. I would choose MC because unlike ViuTV's promotion machine (tv show, drama, and music), Warner Music HK's artistes only focus on music and they need the awards and exposure more so than ViuTV's artistes. But in the end it's up to 903 and who they like more, many famous singers never even received a newcomer award from them. The point of grabbing these awards is for promotion and those who only look at HK music "once" every year will notice the Gold newcomer winner who gets to sing a full song on stage. Don't forget ViuTV's Chill Club can always give Edan newcomer of the year.
