Attended the medal presentation. It was well done. And it meant a lot that my son's sacrifice on that mountain that day is not forgotten. Gold Star dad
Thank you for the sacrifice. I'm a veteran myself and clearly this was not in vain. While the SEAL that fell out of the helocopter did pass, all members chose to go back. This is how servie members should operate and your son, bless him and you too, did the right thing in not leaving anyone behind. On behalf of all Americans and veterans I sincerely thank you for YOUR family's sacrifice.
Do you realize the magnitude of this honor? Regardless of who presents the Medal it is about the valorous actions of the recipient not the one bestowing it. You all should stop crying about our President.
...and to Air Force Technical Sgt. John Chapman. Your Medal will be given to your family on the 22nd of August. You were that 'one team mate' who lead the way up that hill. You provided the cover so those Navy Seals could safely reposition themselves and you drew fire away from the second group of American QR forces landing on that mountain top before you were killed, fighting for almost a hour, sometimes hand to hand, all by yourself, against overwhelming odds. My God what courage and what a man....may you now rest in peace with the highest honor now yours from a grateful nation....You truly gave the last full measure.
Slabinski, from everything I’ve read, should not have been upgraded from the Navy Cross to CMH. TSgt. Chapman saved his life and the lives of the other SEALS who retreated down the mountain. It also appears the SEALS tried to block the upgrade from the Air Force Cross to the CMH for Chapman in order to save face for SEAL Team 6. How do you give the CMH to both when one saved the life of the other, and Chapman was left for dead, even though Slabinski claims he thought Chapman was dead? I do not mean to imply that Slabinski and the rest of his team were not brave; they certainly were. I just think the politics and rivalries which exist inside of the different branches in general, and Spec Ops in particular, created a situation where two CMHs were awarded when only Chapman truly deserved it.
Craig Esq I respect your views, and respectfully disagree with your assessment of the politicization of the incident. I am former USAF, 7thMAPS deployed during Ops DS/DS, out of McChord AFB(Joint Base Lewis/McChord for you younger folks). Thank you for your service, Airman.

There is a drone video of Chapman rushing the bunkers while the seals ran away including Britt. It took forever for Chapman to get the moh because of this....he made the seals look bad.

This operation took the lives of seven men and wounded over twice as many more. It was ill conceived and started to unravel, literally when it got off the ground. So many things went wrong, yet they forged ahead and blindly blundered into a fortified position, taking many casualties. Then things got worse. Much heroism. Bad leadership.
The facts surrounding the "battle of Takur Ghar " are well known and I am correct in my assertion. The US military has a history of coverups after action including the awarding of honours to obscure facts. All Americans should be aware of Pat Tillman's story. Please look at it. My advice, don't give any more advice. I'm 74...I've played the game.
Strange that the leader of the mission with all the bad choices received the MOH for taking short cuts, leaving a man behind and then tried to go along with the cover-up to stop his teammate Chapman behind alive
Cowards can recognize bravery and they have the ability to destroy the freedoms provided by our heroes. Although it is a sad situation, our legal system now needs protection. Mr. Slabinski, we are all proud of your valor and I thank you for your service.
Regardless of your opinion of President Trump this isn't the time or place to voice opinions about him, I respectfully request that all negative opinions about the President be deleted! We're here to honor a true American hero, a man who's courage under fire, bravery, and outstanding valor have once again made our country quite proud! Not only did MCPO Slabinski make his country proud but there's a code among those in uniform that says "never leave a man behind" and he definitely lived up to it! MCPO Slabinski, sir as I write this I speak for all my family and friends when I say well done, your made your country proud, did your duty, and there are no words that we as Americans could say to thank you for the sacrifices you've made to ensure that our freedoms and liberties prevail! I wish you joy and fulfillment throughout the rest of your life and in pursuit of your future endeavors, we are here for you if you need any help now and well into the future, Hooyah Sir, I salute you!
Amazing sheer bravery, u can't not sit and sit back in awe after hearing that he ran through 3 directional enemy fire to rescue his team and the sad loss of those killed in battle. He deserves recognition. MOH. Amazing!!
Slab, my Brother, it was an Honor to have served with you. I will never forget the lessons you taught me with your leadership. I am eternally grateful; thank you.
If y'all are wondering why this man's MOH is controversial then watch "The First Medal of Honor Ever Recorded" here on UA-cam and you'll see the footage of what happened during the battle of Robert's Bridge.
This guy is a liar who took credit for someone else's bravery. That MOH isn't his! Don't get me wrong he served and deserves respect for that, but the battle in question he didnt do anything! especially not anything deserving of a MOH. John Chapman on the other hand was an absolute savage that day and it's disgusting how the navy has tried to tarnish Johns name and fought tooth and nail for years to stop him getting a MOH, yet give this guy one for doing the lesser of the two men.
I gotta say, Trump has an excellent memory. He easily remembers all the details of this brave Man, Brit. But that is beside the point. Brit is a brave, courageous Man, and he deserves respect. He earned it.
@Barry Ellis your right I'm more Liberal than the current fascist left I'm conservative. Libatarian but the left are not true liberals in the definition of liberalism. Think about it that said Trump 2020
Thank you for your service, & Thank you for the servicemen who should be awarded the CMH, but no one lived to tell of there heroism, because everyone was dead😔‼️
I as a marine can tell simply by the president squeezing this heros shoulders and patting him after putting the medal on shows this president truly and deeply cares for all the service members. God bless our leader and our service members
Our Potus honors all vets and current military service men and women with respect and even those who are no longer with us this is a true American patriot and thank you to all who have served or given all to our country...................
Matthew Madruga You’re an idiot. Move to another country. No one will miss you. The fact is that our great military will always do the job you’re not willing to do or are afraid to do. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Thank you is so small a statement. Admiration and love is better, but still doesn't satisfy the enormity of it all.... We are forever in your debt and lovingly so.
Well done. I'm only leaving a comment here for this brave soldier as its the first platform I saw this on. Normally wouldn't go near CNN as this soldier was fighting the very bastards and ideology that mainstream media seems to defend for some reason. Keep up the fight and it is actually nice to see the President take it very personally and give genuine support to the Armed Forces. I'm ex Army but not from US, so love to see a comrade in arms getting just deserves, bravo, stay safe and keep up the good fight....true champion.
I've heard a lot of CMOH citations over the years and this one is a bit light on the standard. Should've probably been a navy cross and not upgraded but from the stories about this award in particular, it seems politics played a part in it. The USAF Technical Sergeant Chapman was most assuredly going to posthumously receive the highest award for his actions but the Navy tried to block the recommendation. This would be because there was no initial recommendation for any of the Seals and it would look embarrassing for them to have an operator from a perceived softer branch of military be the most valiant among the men that day. They couldn't get the block or the downgrade so they had to choose one of their own to have an upgrade to be on equal valor status as an Air Force NCO. Don't get me wrong, all the men on that mountain were heroes that day and deserve respect and admiration but the sad truth is that the branches are competitive and politics do happen. The Seals are a world renown elite group of operators but all branches have equally skilled personnel in the SPEC OPS community. The Pararescue training for Airman is as grueling and stringent as the Seals training but is longer and more comprehensive than the Navy's, but because their mission is to rescue rather than assault it isn't perceived to be as sexy. Ask any Special Forces operator from any branch and they will say that no matter who they are working with, be it airman, marines, army or navy operators, they are all exemplary professionals who are quite capable of their respective roles and specialties, enlisted, commissioned and warrant officers alike. There is more inter branch mission teams used than ever before and that's a good thing but sadly some senior brass of some branches still want a preferred "pecking order" as to which operational groups get the the lion's share of glory.
lol the Seal's allegedly attempted to block Chapman's Medal of Honor, as that would result in an admission that they left Chapman behind. When it became apparent that it could not be blocked, it was further alleged that they put the commander of the operation, Britt Slabinski, up for the Medal of Honor, which he received in May 2018. Here's the truth
I spent over a year investigating this MOH winner. He stole every word and action from John Chapman's recorded MOH. He did not know about the Drone recording and filled in John's shoes in words not action. I have the utmost respect for all our fighting men and woman but don't take anyone's honor. So many men died that day and so many lived because of John. Even Fox news challenged him on his made up response. Yes he fought for our country and was a brave man but don't steal the thunder when one man saved so many yet another took so much credit. I come back to this page every year to tell the truth. God Bless John Chapman. I credit Slobinski for what he did but not for what he didn't do.

Which was a very hard war to fight since the Chinese got involved and helped North Korea..There were milton's of men who knew we had no business being in Vietnam that those men said fuck it I'm not going to Vietnam so I will quite the service. @@fubarmofo6969 actually the reason it took so long for him to get the award was because of the question on whether he did or didn't leave a man behind to die

Slab, my Brother, it was an Honor to have served with you. I will never forget the lessons you taught me with your leadership. I am eternally grateful; thank you.
I bet🙄🙄
If y'all are wondering why this man's MOH is controversial then watch "The First Medal of Honor Ever Recorded" here on UA-cam and you'll see the footage of what happened during the battle of Robert's Bridge.
I saw that video but i still don't understand what is controversial about it could you elaborate please?
I believe this was the first medal of honor ever recored by john chap man
This guy is a liar who took credit for someone else's bravery.
You know he was reading that off of a teleprompter right?
@@red.s1k fake news!
You can see him recalling the events in his moving eyes.
The amount of liberals in the comments is incredible. You know nothing of honor..
SmithN' Wesson Agreed.
Liberals have. Ceremonies and pass out Obama phones and Che Guevara berets.
Only 250 thumbs down man.. 95% of the people are being respectful.
@Barry Ellis I respect that my 4 favorite Presidents Washington Lincoln Kennedy Trump..
Thank you for your service, and God bless you and your family !
God bless the United States of America !
I don't think Slabinski wanted the medal. People need to read the Newsweek article about how he got the medal. Hint. It is because of Chapman.
Our Potus honors all vets and current military service men and women with respect and even those who are no longer with us this is a true American patriot and thank you to all who have served or given all to our country...................
Thank you Mr. President for recognizing our brave men's and women's that serve our country for our democracy. May the Lord bless you and your family.
Why are Trump comments overshadowing a Hero? This guy has balls of steel.... even I, a portuguese am in awe! Salute you Sir.
Weeping.....sigh
God bless these men!
Mr. President. This must be your favorite part of your job. Thanks for honoring our great military.
Matthew Madruga You’re an idiot. Move to another country. No one will miss you. The fact is that our great military will always do the job you’re not willing to do or are afraid to do. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@Matthew Madruga you are a disgrace.
Matthew Madruga He would die for his country, as would this Navy Seal.
Congratulations Brit and thank you for standing on the wall.
Long Live the SEALS! And, God Bless America! Well done men.
Thank you is so small a statement. Admiration and love is better, but still doesn't satisfy the enormity of it all.... We are forever in your debt and lovingly so.
Thank you brave soldiers
Fantastic video! Such men should be honoured... regardless of politics.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎖🎖🎖
Excellent leader awarding a WELL DESERVING war hero! Thanks Mr. President
He's actually a sailor from the US Navy SEAL.
John A Chapman is the hero! Marines will always look up to you as we are never impressed by seals
Every time I see a MH presented, I can't keep dry. Respect to all recipients that ever got one.
John Chapman was the real hero here if not for Chapman they all would have been killed.
Once again he shows his inability function properly in a given situation. Service is an honor we chose. I thank them for theirs.
lol the Seal's allegedly attempted to block Chapman's Medal of Honor, as that would result in an admission that they left Chapman behind.
How could there be 113 dislikes...stupid freedom haters. Any ways what an honor to the great warriors of our nation.
its the talibans
That Islamists and Leftist Collectivists ..... do you expect them to like US military ? :)
113 dumbfucks who hate the president.
Plus they probably don't care about the honorable event happening
@@rogers68vette81 Why would you not hate a president, who successfully avoided military service in the 70`s with the words: "Are you crazy, I´m not going to `Nam". This selfish guy wouldn´t even save his mother or wife. What a shame to receive the medal from the hands of a greedy coward, who has never read a book in his entire life. America has become a joke to the world since he became POTUS. In Europe, where I come from, you couldn´t even imagine a president like him in 1000 years. People are a lot more educated down here.
@@matthiaswagner7922 well mark since you don't live in the United State's of America maybe I can explain one huge issue about the Vietnam War.
The United State's never should have been there in the first place It wasn't our war to fight in, we should have learned that while fight in Korea. Which was a very hard war to fight since the Chinese got involved and helped North Korea..There were milton's of men who knew we had no business being in Vietnam that those men said fuck it I'm not going to Vietnam so I will quite the service. Many did I'm not talking about 5 or 12 I'm talking hundreds of thousands. We even had those men protest the war right after they came back from Vietnam.
So do tell me why would I like a president who never fought in a war cause he was smart enough to not have to go.. Thank God I had a bad back and knee's or I would have gone.
Fuck that shit. Came home and get spit on called a baby killer.
Research what shit those men had to take and be called when they came home...
It's also a fucking honor to receive the medal of honor from a president...
So fuck you and your crying feeling about it..
Proud of you, you represent the best we have to offer thank you.
This is the Master Chief? Wow, been waiting a long time for this reveal. About time this hero got a medal to his name.
How dare does president BONE SPURS touch a HERO!
HOLY GEZZ! An incredible group of badasses!
I agree
Fun Fact: This man fought in the same battle that John Chapman did, who was the first medal of honour to be recorded.
No politics, just honor.
BRAVO! BRAVO!! HEROES ONE AND ALL!! WE LOVE OUR MILITARY!! GOD BLESS THEM ALL!!
Chapman's story in that fight is very amazing as well I encourage you to check his story out as well much respect to all that die for their country.
Thank You Sir!!! We Americans Applaud you!! Navy Seals second to none!!!!
this seal left his comrade john Chapman left to die :( seals keep a promise to never let a seal behind but didnt know what the situation was so cant say
congrats Seal Slabinski. And God Bless your President and your comrades in the Teams...
RIP John Chapman
God's amazing Grace! Congratulations to you and your team! Amen
Thank you. Mr. President
It has no idea about one thing he is reading. This medal is well earned and I'm grateful for your sacrifice. Thank You.
God Bless him and his family🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
Much respect senior chief, god bless and I hope you live in peace knowing you did what’s best to preserve the life honor and tradition of the United States armed forces and all those serving past and present
Well they still left John Chapman to die sadly. He was the real hero. He was also awarded MOH.
NOONE is left to die! Clearly you have never been in a fire fight! Instead of spewing nonsense about a subject you clearly know nothing about how about you think what it is like to have to make the decision to pull back to save the lives of many knowing others will die. No man wants to be in that position and only the brave can make the decision and be haunted by it
@@fubarmofo6969 actually the reason it took so long for him to get the award was because of the question on whether he did or didn't leave a man behind to die
Respect,,, I SALUTE you, idol, From,,Manila Philippines
Damn much respect
God Bless Americas' Military and in particular these CMOH recipients.
An american hero 👍💪
JOMI yahoo
Like the brave warriors of King David. May God keep You, and bless You.
Is this the guy that left John Chapman to die on that hill?
Yep
Yeah, too bad the TL Slabinski left John Chapman for dead. Then the Navy fought giving MSgt John Chapman the MOH for almost 20 years to cover the SEALs failures. This is ABSOLUTE TRUTH!
Think what you will about President Trump, he does really good presentations for the MOH men.
Deep respect for these brave men, they protect us and guard us (even with there lives) so whe can live in freedom, peace and can go quietly sleep at night, Hooyah from the Netherlands for these heroes.
A real man
As a Canadian, those guys are my brothers.I'm part of that rare breed of sensible human beings who can put politics aside.
