I had Lasik about a year ago, and while my day vision is great, my night vision is very affected by halos and starbursts (not as bad as he described in this video but night driving is very uncomfortable). If you have large pupils, think twice before having Lasik. Overall I don't regret it, I hardly ever need to drive at night.
Lasik is fine for me as I work in a computer environment. The only issue I have is I can't see a starry night sky with billions. I only see a few thousand and the bulk of the milky way with my bare eyes.

PRK both eyes. 22 years later I regret the worse irreversible damage I did to my eyes. Very very poor night vision and severe eye dryness. Nothing seems to help. Can't drive at night and low light spaces scare me.

You are so right. I made a huge mistake 8yrs ago when I did my Lasik. My vision improved greatly then. However, right now, my night vision is terrible with glasses. I wish I had done my research 8 yrs ago. I would never recommend this surgery to my worst enemy

I saw Dr. G a few years ago and the lenses did really nothing to improve most of my symptoms at all. I have about a dozen different vision issues. I have the issues you have but they are the least bothersome of my issues. If those are the only issues you have then consider yourself super lucky.

Before Lasik, I could see halos when my glasses were off. Thats normal for some who's short sighted. When my glasses on, these halos were gone and my vision was sharp. After Lasic, my short sightedness was fixed, however there were very prominent halos. After sometime, my eyes developed, and my shortsightedness increased with it. I got prescription glasses, and to my surprise the halos were greatly reduced once I wore them. I have no idea how it happened. Maybe since my eyes developing, it somehow counteracted the halo effect. However, one thing for sure is that I am not going to go for a second lasic surgery. Currently I am at -2 in both eyes, and I am going to leave them that way. During the day, glasses are off, and I occassionally wear them at night in dark places where there are lots of flourecent lights, or when I am driving. I am NOT going to make the samw mistake twice, unless I am assured by a trusted well knonw doctor that this won't happen again.

I found this after searching for halo/starburst simulations online after having intra-ocular lens implants 5 weeks ago. It has been a disaster. Somehow I don't think it'll improve, there has been no improvement since the surgery. They're the multi-focal lenses. I have my 2nd post-op on October 20, so I'll see what they say. There would be NO way I could drive at night, I'd say mine is worse than this simulation. I'm 56 and live in Canada. At least I have my husband and son to drive me if I need to go anywhere at night, but...I need a paper bag on my head b/c the lights, the distortion, no depth perception, no way I can well enough to drive...had a 2 hour drive on single lane hwy the other night, (of course I was the passenger)_ busy road with my son driving and trying to ignore my panic, seemed like cars were coming at us in our lane alot...just terrible. These lenses were recommended to me to eliminate progressive lenses glasses. Always had 20/20 vision until the magic age of about 45.

Yes I got smile eye surgery little over 2mo this and now can seeat night and I have "driving glasses at night" left eye apparently now has to be redone because of astigmatism lol

Its extremely sad that people take non medically esential risks for vanity reasons. Wearing glasses and contact lenses is much safer than taking a risk on doing surgery on your eyes. With all surgery, there is always risk, no matter how minor or major.

I'd consider trying his lenses if he would actually answer my questions as I've had little success with slceral lenses from other places.

My advise to anyone considering lasik
To do their research about the risks side effects and make sure to consult with multiple doctors
To make sure they can get lasik without any issue
If you don't feel like glasses is annoying you don't get lasik stick with em and you will be fine
There are so many myths about lasik that have been debunked
My sister had lasik 20 years ago and shes doing fine thank God!
Its extremely sad that people take non medically esential risks for vanity reasons. Wearing glasses and contact lenses is much safer than taking a risk on doing surgery on your eyes. With all surgery, there is always risk, no matter how minor or major.
