I had Lasik about a year ago, and while my day vision is great, my night vision is very affected by halos and starbursts (not as bad as he described in this video but night driving is very uncomfortable). If you have large pupils, think twice before having Lasik. Overall I don't regret it, I hardly ever need to drive at night.

Lasik is fine for me as I work in a computer environment. The only issue I have is I can't see a starry night sky with billions. I only see a few thousand and the bulk of the milky way with my bare eyes.

Yet another case of Lasik leaving permanent side effects. If you end up needing more expensive custom corrective lenses immediately afterwords, what was even the point of Lasik in the first place?

PRK both eyes. 22 years later I regret the worse irreversible damage I did to my eyes. Very very poor night vision and severe eye dryness. Nothing seems to help. Can't drive at night and low light spaces scare me.

I had lasik a month ago
    No problems so far
    Mild halos
But i had no idea about its risks
    Nor side effects
My doctor only said dry eyes and in 10 years there's a small chance your Vision won't be as sharp as gets after lasik
Now I should've done my research because if I knew about those complications people are facing I wouldn't have done it I would've kept my glasses but thank God I'm doing well I'm using my lubricant eye drops religiously
And If my vision decreases with time 1000% im not going to get another lasik
    I'll stick to glasses
    To anyone considering lasik
Please do your research consult with 3 doctors at least make sure you're a candidate
    Then make the decision
Personally if I knew about the risks I wouldn't have had it and I would've stick to my good old brown glasses
To anyone facing lasik complications I'm sorry and I hope you get better
But do not get another lasik
    It will get worst

Before Lasik, I could see halos when my glasses were off. Thats normal for some who's short sighted. When my glasses on, these halos were gone and my vision was sharp. After Lasic, my short sightedness was fixed, however there were very prominent halos.
After sometime, my eyes developed, and my shortsightedness increased with it. I got prescription glasses, and to my surprise the halos were greatly reduced once I wore them. I have no idea how it happened. Maybe since my eyes developing, it somehow counteracted the halo effect. However, one thing for sure is that I am not going to go for a second lasic surgery. Currently I am at -2 in both eyes, and I am going to leave them that way. During the day, glasses are off, and I occassionally wear them at night in dark places where there are lots of flourecent lights, or when I am driving. I am NOT going to make the samw mistake twice, unless I am assured by a trusted well knonw doctor that this won't happen again.

@@DatG-sx1co Share your story and warn others. Wanting laser surgery was the worst decision of my life. Doctors lie about the risks. My name is Jaroslav Hlavín, premature, expanded limbus, scleratinization, expanded vascularization, astigmatism, right eye -5.0, -1,25 cyl 25 ax, left eye -5.75, - 0,5 cyl 175 ax. smaller eyes, dyplopia, strabism, and lazy eye on right eye.
At first i get Relex Smile on right eye, durring the operation doctor stopped it because of "due to the localization of the entry incision too close to the limbus, the extraction of the lenticule was not performed." Then I waited 1 month after the eye healed and the doctor suggested femtoLasik, during the operation it was painful and the doctor said that I have the nerves closer to the area where he was working and they would give me more anesthesia but I had to endure it, after thats its disaster. They removed all my diopters, but left astigmatism and caused high order aberrations, probably damaged some nerves. I have all side effects like starbursts, halos, ghosting. double vision in left eye, bad night vision. My vision is cloudy with many floaters, not sharp, i dont focus on details. After few months my vision are greyish low contrast a have problem with shades of black and grey. According to doctor i have absolute vision and its considered as success operation...I thought of suicide. They butchered me in Lexum Prague - Czech Republic. Doctors who butchered me are MUDr. Věra Flemrová - her poor judgment during the examination led to the approval of the operation. Prof. MUDr. Martin Filipec, CSc. who proposed femtoLasik after the unsuccessful Relex Smile surgery, and MUDr. Filip Brázda who performed both operations.

I found this after searching for halo/starburst simulations online after having intra-ocular lens implants 5 weeks ago. It has been a disaster. Somehow I don't think it'll improve, there has been no improvement since the surgery. They're the multi-focal lenses. I have my 2nd post-op on October 20, so I'll see what they say. There would be NO way I could drive at night, I'd say mine is worse than this simulation. I'm 56 and live in Canada. At least I have my husband and son to drive me if I need to go anywhere at night, but...I need a paper bag on my head b/c the lights, the distortion, no depth perception, no way I can well enough to drive...had a 2 hour drive on single lane hwy the other night, (of course I was the passenger)_ busy road with my son driving and trying to ignore my panic, seemed like cars were coming at us in our lane alot...just terrible.
These lenses were recommended to me to eliminate progressive lenses glasses. Always had 20/20 vision until the magic age of about 45.
