Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev now has a date to defend his crown. After recent dental surgery forced Beterbiev to postpone his Aug. 19 title defense against former world champion Callum Smith, the two will now meet Saturday, Jan. 13 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.
#beterbievsmith and the co-feature will be televised live on ESPN. Undercard action will stream exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

This fight was sanctioned by the NABF which like the WBC and other sanctioning bodies doesn't allow Russian fighters in their rankings while the war is ongoing. Same reason why the Bivol-Beterbiev negotiations fell through, Beterbiev has a Canadian passport but Bivol is strictly Russian lol

@@garygraham2934 All countries have foreign citizens as boxing champions. Australia is no different; they came and we made them champions. To name a few: Rocky Mattioli 154lb champion; Vic Darchinyan, Michael Katsidis, George Kambosos, Sakio Bika, Gary St, Clair and the list goes on.
I'm from Australia and I've never heard of Khataev. I'd like to see more of him though. Good call by the ref in this fight.
