The price will be a major barrier for entry I understand they are a new start up but I figure with shipping the long range will be almost $30000 and yes some people or agency's may buy it no matter the price but it is out of the price range for your average consumer.
Any tipping forces that can't be handled by your legs will travel through your arms and be applied to the handlebars. Ever seen those folks who have their ATV's or motorcycles go tearing off due to lack of control when they trip and hang on to the throttle? Same sort of issue. And the accuracy and stability of the riders ability to apply control inputs to the handlebars is hampered by having a reference frame all the way down at their feet instead of through their spine (core) when sitting on a seat. If you extend your arm straight out and try to hold your hand still, and then repeat the process by stabilizing your elbow on an object you will notice how supplying a reference frame closer to the input greatly increases stability due to the decreased moment of motion. This is why seats are a good thing, not to mention rider fatigue...
This thing is simply designed to replace a horse, and going where a regular horse would go. 15:40 explained how the unit demonstrated was built for the military. This explains why the rider is standing, so it can go over rough terrain and if it was used for police work, would make the rider visible, and more imposing. This thing is a show of force and utilitarian at the same time, not really suited for recreational use.
Cool. So there could be a market among farm owners and of course the police on the beat But as the interview went along the opportunities and places were this would be required just exploded! So the question is, how many can they produce?
What happens if you need to cross a shallow stream of water, will the battery take it vs leaving you stranded in the woods? Ground clearance? Is there a reverse? Is the lock version feature not standard? Is there a physical key or phone as key an option? Will that ostrich neck collapse for easier transport?
You would want a physical key, as cellphones can run out of power while in the woods, leaving you stranded. Yes, a battery can go into water without getting water inside. Do what Tesla did to the CyberTruck, put a compressor with pressure regulator on the Vent for the battery and put just 5 psi in the battery to have positive pressure to ensure water stays out!
Justin was terrifically knowledgeable and very well thought through! I don't know what I would do with one. Not much use for it in the city and it wouldn't be allowed in the wilderness areas I frequent.
not just for leg breaks, but a flip down seat would be great for cops when they are parked often when at events, or in a park. Even if the seat is a standing/sitting style.
I’m still hoping you guys will review some awesome brands of recumbent tadpole trikes. Many of which are now e-assist. Brands like Catrike, ICE (Inspired Cycle Engineering) TerraTrike, Trident Trikes, Greenspeed, Sunseeker, HP Velotechnik, Hase, etc. If you are reviewing e-mobility devices like the LyteHorse, costing up to $30K, while recumbent trikes can’t do all that this can, they are a real game changer for many who are tired of or cannot handle the back and wrist stresses that a regular upright bike inflicts. And they’re a hell of a lot of fun! I’ve put nearly 2000 miles on mine already.
LyteHorse is a great company. Justin and the group at LyteHorse are great for customer support. Loving my two LyteHorses and one is equipped with a seat. I have the witch option which I thought I would hardly use, but it has come in handy pulling things out of the bush and pulling other vehicles out of the ditch.
Does or could the LyteHorse have some sort of a Remote Control Function or possibility of being used in a road train situation either remotely or driven??
"Remote Control Function or possibility of being used in a road train" Sorry to ask, but what do you have in mind besides using a pure offroad vehicle?
It's TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS my dudes😬. And that's the economy model! It's $30k for the top model. You can get a very capable electric dirtbike for around $5-6k. Thanks I'm good.
Sounds like it doesn't go slowly very well. That's excluding a huge potential audience of slow touristy people that the Segway was able to fall back on. Also, admittedly losing the "American " market as both agree Americans prefer sitting!
"The faster it goes the more stable it is." Well that's only going to appeal to people who can go fast. I for one have to go slow when I'm on my side by side because the terrain consists of abandoned furrows, and you don't want to take those too fast. But the side by side can maneuver fine at a slow speed.
50 miles on an ATV is nothing. We would ride double that in a day. If you are doing back trails and long passages this would not be a good option. However if you did a hybrid version with a small generator to use to charge the batteries towards the evening while camping, that would work just fine.
Thanks! Looks pretty awesome. Sure would be nice if it were legal to ride on residential streets (or did I miss this). I agree that the price is hefty. Hmm.. the new Electric Ski-Doo is coming out soon..no price. TAIGA has snowmobiles and jet skis starting for $22,000 CDN. Toys for boys 😁❤❤❤
I call bull, standing your knees and ankles and feet and hips and back with all be getting Jarred all the time. Hi Center gravity yada yada yada. No way to hang on with your knees or your body like you can when you're sitting on an atv. He may sell a few but he is going to have to add somewhere to sit so you can hang on while you ride and be comfortable. And let's talk about getting something fixed on it, they may be sold in one part of Texas but what if you live in Georgia and have bought one and it breaks...? I think you will be pretty much screwed unless you ship it back to the factory at texas. Unless you want to drive it there loaded in the back of your pickup and leave it? 🤔
You guys really should have had Stevon do the testing on this to really showcase it.

These things are cool. Love that it's Canadian built! :) Thanks for sharing, Zach & Jesse!
Can you put a plow on the front to plow snow?
Cool. So there could be a market among farm owners and of course the police on the beat
But as the interview went along the opportunities and places were this would be required just exploded! So the question is, how many can they produce?
I think the next evolution will be to add seats 🤔.
Then, maybe an enclosure, and then maybe they'll make it street legal? 🤔🤔🤔
@@AvocadoAtrocityand brake lights, running lights, and turning signals too!
@@DishNetworkDealerNEO Then might as well get an ATV or an offroad vehicle at that point..😂
@@nelson2095 yep, I have no use for this machine, bone on bone knees and back trouble! I need a seat with shock absorption.
And a roof.
And a gearbox.
And some V8 sound.
And a Vortex V8.
And a supercharger.
And a steering wheel.
And nitro.
And a lyft kit.

Omg! The price😳
"Yeah. I'll buy one of these. This'll be fun. $8,000 ish...
OMFG IT'S THE COST OF A MODEL 3 WTAF 🤢"
Is excluding a seat some way of avoiding a particular regulation?
How does it handle in the snow..?
Starting at 24k?! One could buy two King Quad 750s, two rifles, wrap-around brush guards, and fuel for both for a year for the same amount.
Awesome! Wish I had $1 for every time Justin said ‘right’!!! 😅
Right!?
Justin was terrifically knowledgeable and very well thought through! I don't know what I would do with one. Not much use for it in the city and it wouldn't be allowed in the wilderness areas I frequent.
The potential is great. Are the tires runflat. The backbrace seems important, also a flip seat if you brake a leg and can't stand.
And a roof and a V8 engine and a supercharger and a lyft kit and a steering wheel and a on road permit and NCAP crash tests.
not just for leg breaks, but a flip down seat would be great for cops when they are parked often when at events, or in a park. Even if the seat is a standing/sitting style.
It just boils down to the price and where we can get it

good video
Didn't the original have a back rest for the small of your back to improve control? Not any more?
I would love to have one that looks like a normal AWD ATV.

Should have called it a Super Segway
How much does it cost to replace the battery?
Oh this thing is so cool!
Does or could the LyteHorse have some sort of a Remote Control Function or possibility of being used in a road train situation either remotely or driven??
"Remote Control Function or possibility of being used in a road train" Sorry to ask, but what do you have in mind besides using a pure offroad vehicle?
Fire fighting or rescue. The ability to remotely send supplies or rescue in bush fires are some ways of implementation
Can someone please make a "right" counter. lol
Better have a lot of digits lmao
Looks fun, but the price should drop the first 2. Literally for the price of this you can get a new MG4 EV in Finland.
I don't think you can drive into the woods with your MG4. It gets stuck in the first ditch.
Did you see someone is locked out of their Tesla until they pay$ 26000 for new battery is that a thing?????
A seat and a trailer is missing!!!
why the hell should it cose 26k $?? max 10k and thats a lot for just a standing e-atv
Did we n make mention of water proof rating? Looking @ website it made no mention.
I see an application for parking lot security or beach life guards.

They've covered quite a bit of micromobility devices but I'm surprise they haven't covered EUCs yet.
I just bought a 2024 new SUV for about the same price.
4 Wheel Segway

This product looks like junk. They're trying to get you to reserve these things. I wouldnt do it. Omg, 26,500??? No thank you
Some solid Negative-Nancy stuff going on in your stream of comments for someone who's but seen a couple clips of someone riding one.
I have no use case for one of these. But I do WANT a use case for one; solid excuse to get one. Looks nice; but certainly paying for it.
I’m getting some Archimoto vibes 🤨
I live in the city but oh man do I want one of these. I love the army one.

Nice but a little pricey. Batteries continue to get cheaper so maybe the price will come down.
Especially for a stripped down version without seats.
I see a lot of broken bones in the future...
Looks like a disaster to happen.
why would even want stand up on ATM that kinda of lame
This is cool, right 👍
You got that right! Right? geesh
Thats awesome
Pam here….maybe just a ‘lean bar’. Still standing, but you take off and would feel like I would get thrown backwards.
Right?
15:45 …”US Army corpse of engineers” 🙄
Way too big way too expensive
Light Horse 🦄
why is he trying so hard to sound like Elon Mask
why would you want that? take a turn and it will throw you off it
Given what they've been doing with it, seems there isn't that level of concern from those that have ridden it.
No prizes for guessing his most used word, right?
The UTILITY of MOBILITY...
Pricy !
Stop saying “right” at the end of every sentence. Right?
it doesnt even tilt properl /wtf
haha these are stupid!! why would someone want this insead of a electric ATV
Dude needs to stop saying right. Otherwise very interesting.
Overpriced junk!

This is just getting dumb
Electric scooters are getting worse every year
Right?
