The criminal case against the men accused of planning the Sept. 11 attacks is the one aspect of Guantánamo that would seem to make sense - until you start watching it.
I love this series. However, I am INCREDIBLY confused on why ANYONE is confused here in regard to why everything happening is "weird." You're not describing "weird." You are describing systematic suppression of public conversations regarding classified information which describes the ILLEGAL actions of state sponsored agencies. This is not "weird." This is CYA in action. What is confusing or weird about this? It's blatantly obvious and not confusing at all. It's also not "weird." What is weird is feigning ignorance on these incredibly obvious facts while reporting on it.
Just because you break one law doesn't mean you're now required to not break anymore. You're describing an illegal action followed by more illegal activity in order to cover up the original crime. You consider that "weird"? Seriously?
