- In this video I will be discussing the boss fight that takes place in the neutral route of Undertale Yellow. I will be discussing the exposition, the ending, and the two phases as I applaud the brilliant craftmanship of this wonderful boss fight.
All art is my own,background, pop ups, everything. All Music along with this is already cited by the name and the creator. Usually I cite the game or original content that the music is from, with some exceptions. If you want to know more about the people make the music, you are free to look into the sources I have provided.
The only music I did not site was Your Best Nightmare from Undertale, composed by Toby fox. I did mention and use "Best Friends Forever" and "Afterlife" which were both composed by the Undertale Yellow developers. - Ігри
I’m going to say this cause I keep getting comments on it. I made the thumbnail without the “I” because the “I” would not work with the thumbnail idea. There was now way I could fit the I without having it look extremely unsatisfying. If you can do it, congrats I will have UA-cam talk to you to be the Thumbnail fixer.

I will never forget how immensely unnerved I was the first time I played through this fight, only to see Prunsel, ask "Is that Prunsel?!" and then be marginally less disturbed from that point on.
Best fan made representation of Flowey, hands down. I like how it's not stated whether the part where you briefly "escape" from Flowey is from him actually losing sight of you, or if he just wants to showcase how messed up he is, because either one makes the moment impactful in a different way.
i honestly thought it got world-shatteringly worse after mart-prunsel... like sure, it was silly, but after that is when THAT fight happens... i dont know. maybe its just me and playing it at 4am confused af desperately praying to not be set back another traumatic specimen every time i died was just a little too much.
@@leedlelel2373 Oh don't get me wrong, the fake Martlet part was seriously chilling and that creeped me out a whole lot. The part I'm talking about is the part where, in one of the Specimen segments, Flowey uses a bunch of Prunsels as part of his attacks. It's in the Specimen: Clay part of the fight, specifically.

Imagine you are flowey, against all odds this child has managed to keep up with you, and you look up for a second to see how they are possibly keeping up with you, then you stare at god, face to face, in the eyes

One thing you didn't include, not sure if on purpose or not: In the fake out, when "Martlet" goes to hug you there's 1 frame where her face becomes scary

I didn't even play undertale; as a kid, the first time I saw Omega Flowey was on a youtube video of scary boss fights in gaming. It had all the typical stuff, resident evil etc. . But Omega Flowey? The only time something on a screen has caused me a lack of sleep was that time. The dissonance of this horrifying, truly impossible to understand soul-eater that even steals your save file with the uncomfortably liminal-space aura of it all really freaked me out.
yeah the ending of the netral route is more like a compromise between the player and flowey since no one can beat the other it is left with an unsatisfing end for both.And I love to hate it because all I wanted was to wipe flowey's stupid grin off his face and I coudnt.

It’s a way of making the neutral ending still canon, as it technically never happened.
UT:Y did Flowey so good. My favorite Undertale character and they gave him what he deserves. Neutral UT:Y Flowey is honestly my favorite boss I think Ive fought ever. Its so good.
Best Friends Forever has one of the hardest starts ive heard
The phase that scared me the most was the mechanical face. With some of the games I’ve confused it feels so familiar to them, and out of place for flowey. Organic gives the same vibe, but feels less out of place and less scary for that. Other than those polygonal is the scariest.
I love the ut yellow neutral route, and am a bit mad that everyone that played it is like, Im doing pacifist/genocide, without letting themself playing the game somewhere in between, that are my favorite.

I did pacifist first and I honestly wish I did neutral. The pacifist final boss had lost some of its impact because I was thinking it was like Undertale where you have to do a neutral first.

I'm susprised you either didn't know or just forgot about how he has four other ending dialogues at the end of his fight. The first three dialogues is different comments about you comming back to him (the 4th time being the last time he says something new for beating him another time, staying the same if you beat him more time) but there's a more intersting one:
if your FUN value is 70+ he'll have a bit of paranoia from having the feeling of being being watched (by us, the player!) despite being alone in his mind, breaking the fourth wall again. Also implying that he's not completely self-aware yet, but he's starting to be because of us!
I knew about it, I just couldn’t really find a way for it to fully work in the script. Along with that I didn’t feel like I had much to talk about other than the fact they existed. But yeah I see your point

Although I guess it would be kind of annoying and more cause of the repetition so I can understand It to some extend, not completely cause I haven't make a video, so this hasn't happened to me.
This whole boss fight and segment of the game in general was really REALLY cool. And seeing you talk about it in depth and unpack so many of the details was a treat to watch!! I also think you're underrated and deserve more recognition!

Good video! I’d like to add something here that I thought about the fight. I’m not sure if this is just a me thing or if this happened to everyone but I’ll still share with the class:
The Neutral route was my first play through of Undertale Yellow and over the course of the game, I became really attached to Clover, moreso than I ever did with Frisk or Kris (I still like them but not as much). From their little reactions to things, to their relationship with Flowey, to their simple but effective characterization, the little cowboy quickly stole my heart, and I just wanted them to get home (even though I knew it wasn’t going to happen).
So when the poor kid’s potential mother figure got stabbed, then Clover was murdered on the spot, then seeing how Flowey took their soul to the point where they couldn’t cry even if they wanted, I felt both really sorry for Clover but also really determined to beat the dumb Flower.
If Clover was stubborn, then I was gonna be stubborn too. I was determined to beat the fight asap just so the cowboy I’ve come to adore wouldn’t be suffering for as long as they did. Everytime I died and raised back from the dead, I said, “You can do it Clover!” It took me an hour but I did it. And even though it didn’t amount to anything, I still felt happy.
So in this fight, more than any other fight in Undertale, Deltarune, or Yellow, I was the most determined to win simply because of my attachment to the protagonist.

when I first played through Undertale, I spared asgore, Flowey appeared, my game crashed and when I loaded it... well yknow. keep in mind I had never seen any mention of Flowey on the internet before, so you can imagine my fear, and how many times I died.

would've liked to know before I clicked on the video that this was going to be about Undertale yellow, which I have not yet finished. (TBF, I did not notice the date of upload, which might've otherwise tipped me off I guess)
I have gotten this complaint, and I have one thing. Nothing would have changed. If I said “oh spoilers for Undertale yellow” you would have already known that a flowey boss fight was I Undertale yellow. I didn’t suddenly show you the boss fight I stated “Undertale Yellow’s Flowey boss fight” spoilers were not necessary, you would have been spoiled the same way, nothing would have changed.
Hope your channel is successful, Pastra doesn't post nearly enough for my likings.

I would like o argue that all of Undertale Yellow tackles dissatisfaction and fulfillment. In every route, someone loses, Clover mainly.
Not exactly imo. In my opinion, it is themed on Justice and Vengeance (idk how to explain the neutral route so ima just explain the pacifist and geno)
True pacifist: This route is themed on Justice. At the very end, Clover knows that the monsters deserve justice. They were unfairly trapped Underground and need 7 souls to escape. Clover decides to give up their soul, sacrifice themself, to deliver the justice the monsters deserve, freedom.
Flawed pacifist: Same as above, but for different reasons. Clover delivers the justice that Ceroba wanted, justice for her sins against her daughter and husband. She, basically, killed her daughter. Chujin died for their daughter. Chujin died for nothing. Clover also attempts to give justice for the previous 5 humans, who were unfairly killed (I mean, Integrity did deserve it though tbh) by Asgore, although they fail.
Genocide: This one is Vengeance. Clover, because of Flowey, knows the monsters unfairly killed the missing humans, so, they decide to get revenge for them. To kill all the monsters. Once Axis talks about killing Integrity, Clover gets so enraged they shoot up to LOVE 19 and are able to absolutely destroy Axis. Clover then kills Flowey for revenge as well. Then, last but not least, they vaporize Asgore for killing the humans and crosses the barrier with them, freeing them at last. This is justice for the humans, but mainly revenge. Excessive violence for their kind.

@@TheFuntimeCrew I'm trying to think of parts they might be in but I can only really think of the neutral route (or maybe I'm dumb idk) for Flowey (Flowey had dissatisfaction from Clover always just living with Toriel and dying, so he decided to interfere, leading to a bit of satisfaction from watching what they'd do)
@@CharaDreemurr_TheyThem In the pacifist route, flowey remarks that he didn't expect or want you to give up your soul to asgore, but he reluctantly let's you, and in genocide, flowey continuously tells us that he isn't impressed with our mass killing, especially in the Steamworks. I dunno, I just interpreted those parts that way.
