Mad respect for respecting the wildlife
Superb footage Tomas! Thanks for sharing!
Just found your channel and WOW. Possibly my new favorite photography youtuber. The videos/photos themselves are stunning and the editing is great. Thank you!
Really appreciate the kind words
Fantastic video. My wife and myself are enthusiast wildlife photographers and happen to use a 90D we purchased a little over a year ago. We both thoroughly enjoyed this video and your wildlife photography ethics. Awesome to see.
I'm so pleased to have found your channel. Subscribed.
Excellent content. Thank you
Thanks for sharing, I've only just started my journey with the 90D coming from a trusty T3i and couldn't be more pleased. I'm looking forward to shooting more wildlife and it's inspiring to you see your work and respect for nature. Cheers!
Great shots, video and story. Well done.
This was awesome man! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
Enjoy your videos.
I purchased a Canon 90D back in December. It's an awesome camera.
I just purchased the Canon EF 100 - 400 Mark ll lens.
Your videos have helped me so much.
Thankyou
I’m very happy to hear!
nice winter thanks for sharing
I would definitely use a rain cover for the gear!!
You can buy a nice canon branded rain cover for these big lenses. A kitchen trash bag will also do an admirable job.
Great video! I am a Nikon guy but really liked seeing you in the field. Subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
Kinobody is that you? 😳😅 Man, that lens is awesome. Saving up for a used mark II version. Awesome winter shots!
Wow amazing 👏👏
I shot last years soccer season for my son with the 90D with 70-200mm 2.8L III & 300mm F4, for the money what a beast of a camera it is. I was swapping to live view & the face tracking was getting focus on the far side of the field, with subjects taking up 10% of the frame it was lightning fast too.
nice video :) really enjoyed watching ur video. keep up ur good work
Thank you so much!
Looking forward to your review on the 600
Good stuff!
Very nice. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate the kind words!
Cool camera 👍
Amazing ❤😍👍
Wonderfull!!! Respect^^
stunning footage Tomas, also love the music where did you get it from please?
Epidemic Sound!
I have a canon 90D and it is an amazing camera for sure
its both camera and lens are weather or water resistant ? cooolll
wow nice bro thats my fav camera..i am planing to buy it
Good choice!
@@tomaskoeck ya.i think soo
After calibrating my Tamron 150-600 G2, it is very very razor sharp on my 80D.
My dream set up with that lens. l like the 90D. It is jampacked with new technologies but I really hate the body material. Feels cheap. Do you experience that subtle cracking sound when you ate holding the grip? It is so annoying. Im not sure if it is a quality control issue or just because it is plastic so the joints underneath the cover squeak.
Unfortunately that’s just one of the sacrifices for a plastic body 😢, but don’t worry, it’s still weather sealed and it’s the image quality that counts!
How do u not get blinkies
How well does the battery grip work in cold conditions?
It works very well, I never have to change out the battery when on a day trip
Very nice. But where is the lens review you eluded to?
Still have yet to do it, I want more experience with it before I share my thoughts
That lens would be sharp with just about any camera!!
What music did you use for when you found the owl?
It is an Epidemic sound track
@@tomaskoeck Cool
Why you not got the 7d Mark 2 vs the 90d I m confused between the both ?
Main reason is I also use a 1dx. I keep the 90d around because of the high megapixel count and amazing video . 1dx serves for lowlight situations and action
@@tomaskoeck thankyou so I can buy 90d now
You can’t go wrong with either my friend!
So a comparison for you. The 7DmkII is still superior in a couple places. It has a better AF system with more AF points and options. It has better build and weather sealing. It can load two card slots. And if it matters to you it has a built in GPS (though the 90D can use your phone for this, but it might not be as reliable). In all other categories the 90D either matches or beats the 7DmkII. Here are some of the more relevant.
- Higher DR, so you can pull out shadows more.
- Better battery life, the rating is almost double on the 90D, but I have pushed it well beyond that rating. In one day, I shot almost 1500 photos and it still had 63% battery left.
-Flip out touch screen. This is a very handy feature, especially for navigating the menu in regards to the touch screen.
-Higher Res, but the 32mp sensor is both a beast and a bitch. You will want to look into resolving power for the lenses you want to use. Some of the older gen lenses have resolving power issues that make them appear to have "soft" focus on the 90D. But the additional pixels not only bring the potential of sharper images with strong lenses, but also let you crop significantly more than the 7DmkII can, which given their main intended use (wildlife), that is a big plus.
-4K video (if you want to do video).
-Wifi and Bluetooth. The 7DmkII has neither, the 90D has them both.
-AF at F8, with 27 AF point, 9 of them cross type. The 7DmkII can only do this with the center point. This is extremely handy if you want to use teleconverters.
-Price. The 7DmkII is not as expensive as it used to be, but is still more than the 90D when bought new. Used though, I think the 7DmkII is cheaper at the moment, but there is no telling how beat up those cameras are. It is a rugged camera, sure, but it usually gets put through the paces due to the nature of what it is for. A used 90D, well, it just came out last year, so used models are not that well used yet. At worst, it's a camera that is a year old.
-Eye AF, only in live view though, and it's not as good as we see on the newer R5 and R6 cameras.
-Shutter is rated to 120,000, a little higher than the 7DmkII is at 100,000. I've heard of people getting close to a million clicks on the 7DmkII though, so who knows how reliable these ratings are. Both will likely outlast the rating by a lot.
That is all I can think of at the moment. It's a lot of camera for the money. I feel it's only real drawbacks against the 7DmkII are the strengths I listed for that camera, and even then, really the only one that matters in all situations is the AF system, which is better in most shooting, but actually worse when using any kind of telephoto extender. I do so wish they would have used the AF from the 7DmkII in the 90D, with the improved AF at F8. I think they didn't because in it's development they were still planning a 7DmkIII, which we will never see now.
@@kevindiaz3459 thankyou
Which gear you using for recording sound??
I usually use a rode mic but all audio here was right out of the camera
All the best bro. You have all wishes of me!!
Hi. Would love the setup your shooting BUT, and its a biggg but, that lens is way out of reach for most of us.
How about showing us the 90d with a working man's lens. How about a canon 100-400 V1, or a Tamron 150-600 V1. The earlier modles that can be had for $650 $700. And if you have time try one like I shoot, Sigma DG 120-400 4.5-5.6.
Enjoyed the vid, thanks. Hoping to grab a 90d. Couldn't justify that canon lens your showing even in my dreams.
Hey there William! I have reviewed the Tamron 150-600mm g2 as well as the 100-400mm II in a comparison video. Here are the links:

@@tomaskoeck sorry I guess I was not clear. G1 and v1. The earlier versions. It would be good, more useful I think to shoe the 90d's abilities with the older lens. It seems to me that some or maybe many seesaw the way up the gear ladder. Upgrade a body to use with an existing lans or new glass for an existing body. Smaller steps then a new body and new lens in one gulp.
@@tomaskoeck yup saw them. Same logic applies.
@@MrWDCash sure I’ll look into that Willem! Thanks for the feedback, it’s always helpful to hear what you guys want to see.
@@tomaskoeck Well it would be good for me, Thanks
You don't have to spend $13,000??? Love the prospects of the 90 D which I why I came here I've shot the 80 D for about 4 years now. However, an $11K lens on a $1K camera does not sound rational for limited budgets. What other lenses are in an affordable range for the average person that is sharp and worthy of your time and money, in your opinion?
I just released a Tamron 150-600mm g2 video you might want to check out! That lens is under 1500.
There is also the older FD 500mm, 600mm, and 800mm. They are manual, and you will have to use the mirrorless equivalent to this camera, (the M6 mark 2) to use the FD's on it. I have a video on the 500mm on my channel I just put up.
Hi
My heart sank, Tomas seeing my dream WL combo being exposed to elements, I would have used a rain cover. I am not so sure 90D can withstand much to elements of nature, I would classify it as water resistant and not water proof, like say 1DX MIII.
What is the price for 90d.i like this.Oooooooo this lens is equal to 11 years salary of average people in india.professional man should desire to buy this only.
Yeah definitely a higher end camera setup
90D is the weakest link. That supreme lens demands a full frame sensor camera.
Not really. You get extra reach with 90D.
You will notice difference on paper but on field you wont
Gift me the lens
Christmas gift
Can't afford to buy
But crazy about photography
