I've been around a block or two and my gut feeling would be to patent - if it's as good as you believe it is, someone else will snag it and use it for their own profit. It will be worth having a pain in the ass for a while imho 😜@@thehappyhomesteadnh

Thank you!! So I used adhesive vinyl in the cricket and found some hollow designs that print like a stencil so I can just stick it on and glaze and peel off after to expose the design. But some of the designs are the opposite so I had to think it through on the application! But after I adhered the stencil perfectly, I underglazed then waxed the design 😍

Oh girl! Those bowls are sooo yummy!! I so love the honey flux and iron lustre! The mug that stuck is due to the manganese in the clay. It should pop right off. You know how my dang bottom always gets to a cone 7 or 7 1/2 and of course the top is a perfect 6! I much prefer the cone 7 but you obviously have to glaze accordingly lol. Gosh girl these are sooo pretty!! The black walnut mug looks gorgeous even though it didn’t come out like you wanted. Did you call the kiln company and ask about the kiln issues? No girl. I haven’t fired her up yet. The dang weather will not cooperate!! lol. I loooove the hand warmer mug!! It’s perfect!!! Love😂!! Ooooh for that arctic blue and moody blue bowl is soooo amazing. My gosh!! Hahaha. I snuggle with my pots too. Sometimes it’s so I learn to like it and sometimes it’s so I can let them go. Once I have the stunners around for a while the amazingness goes away just enough so I can let them go! Hahaha!
You let the cat out of the bag about the amaaazing plates!!! Aaah!!! Also, the groggier clay especially with the flecks is pretty temperamental to higher heat. OMG THAT WOMAN MUG!! Aaah yes reminds me of your bedroom!!!!! You just sitting there!! Omggggg. That so US WITH OUR BUNS!!! I LOVE THE Amber topaz PEACOCK BOWL!! I love it. You don’t need to refire. I promise it will sell. I love the plate so much too. Girl I just looove every dang thing. Need one say more? Hi! I just adore your teaching methods. You have taught me a lot! I’m pretty new to pottery, I started about two years ago, and I took the plunge and started my own studio in my garage in May. It’s pretty scary, but really fun, and tons of hard work! ❤️ I love your glazing techniques and I have learned so much from you and I have decided to try some of your techniques. I am confused about a few things, and I hate asking a dumb question! 😂: What exactly is flux? I have a bunch of glazes, probably too many- no, that’s not possible-😂
Let me know also how your husband made the plate forms! I have learned how to make my own bowl forms as well. I’d love to see what your husband created!!
    Your work is absolutely incredible!!
As I said, I’m just starting out, and I’m just learning so much on my own. Then I run into things like I don’t know what flux is. My previous instructor taught me the basics, but that was it. I have sold the n galleries, but I have not done any festivals, which I hope to do.
    Thanks for inspiring me.
    Annie

Annie! Wow..thank you so much for this message 😭 ❤️!! Seriously, it’s messages like these that give me the motivation to keep making videos which are tedious and sometimes annoying 😂 because all I wanna do is play in my studio and not worry about a camera 😂 BUT, it’s also another creative process..you know, like I need another creative outlet besides pottery, gardening, video making etc etc 😆. Anyway, you’re message inspired the shit out of me..as I’m posting another video that I have delayed for like 3 months! 🙌 ok ok….good for you!!!!!!! That’s so amazing that you have your own studio!!! Honestly, I learned the basics in school over 20 years ago and was on my own after that. Thank god for the internet and FB glazing groups nowadays 😂 because there’s so much potential and ideas on those groups. I highly recommend joining if you haven’t already. And there’s no such thing as a dumb question 🙋🏻‍♀️ I ask them all the time 😆. Let’s talk about FLUX. Flux is technically a glaze that you apply either under or over other glazes to get them to move and flow and drip. There are 2 colors that I’m aware of. Light flux and dark flux. The light is like a creamy off white when fired and the dark is like almost a purple ish color when fired. It all depends on which other glazes you are layering them with. Basically, flux makes everything better 😂 in terms of glaze movement. It can make a stable glaze move a bit - like not so solid. I also use light flux a lot (like other potters) for the peacock glazing technique. It’s hard to explain that process but I have a bunch of videos labeled peacock technique using the flux.
So cool that you make your own molds! HOW?! I’m curious 🤨…the plate demo is coming soon. I promise. I got side tracked with work, video making and it’s our homesteading gardening season so I haven’t done as much pottery and I miss it so much! But I’ll show you soon - it’s so hard to explain in words plus I am not the best one to explain it 😂 seeing as Matt’s the magic plate mold maker.
