    For what it cost in fuel & equipment, I would have used a chain saw, it would ruin the chain, but a replacement chain or a chainsaw sharpening file would be less than the cost of all the equipment & fuel you used up to accomplish the task.

    wow, I know how hard it is just to dig out tree roots in my garden, so hats off to those guy's.
    For a latte and a croissant a day (£4.50) you can get a labourer to work for 8 hours, amazing really.
    As others have said, what will you put in it's place?

    They make a wide flat tip for that Jack hammer that would help even if you played the Jack hammer down some to go under the stump

    You really really need that wide bit for it.. it is like 4ins wide
