"The Dakota Scout, a local newspaper from South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) ‘s home state, found a few holes in a story about her meeting North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Noem’s upcoming book (not including the hole she put in her dog’s head).
Noem is set to promote her upcoming book, No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward, ahead of its May 7 release, and she will surely continue to defend her decision to murder her puppy Cricket. But her Kim Jung Un anecdote might also need defending, namely why she claimed to have met the dictator while she was a member of Congress when such a meeting was highly unlikely. That said, most people support shooting innocent animals in the head--they just do it vicariously and pay slaughterhouse workers to use the captive bolt gun. We humans don't need to eat other animals (in fact, vegans live on average 6♀️ to 10♂️years longer than carnists). And innocent animals do NOT deserve to be incarcerated, tortured, branded, castrated, and have their teeth and other body parts cut off (all without anesthesia), then killed at a fraction of their normal lifespans--many dismembered while still fully conscious--just for the pleasure of human taste buds. 😢

Noem is probably a Psychopath. Most are harmless, understanding that society has rules, that they must abide by if they are to be free members of it. But from all accounts she's been killing inappropriately, and doesn't know not to talk about. I hadn't seen any interviews with her so I looked some up. Noem's affect is very flat, and I would say her voice is very monotone. Add in the blatant lies and with that are self aggrandizing and I am more than a little worried about her family. If her amygdala is faulty, they could be in trouble. Everyone thinks it's funny, but I don't.
The bigger question (beyond why this puppy killer would print such an obvious lie in her book): why would one of the most notorious dictators in the world have reason to meet with the first-term governor of one of the most obscure states in the USA?!

Fun fact in 2021 the USA ranked 62nd out of 190 some nations in freedoms. Its one of the few nations who freely admits to using torture even on children and which the right to due process is not absolute. It hasn't won a war on their own in over a century yet people think they have the best military in the world.

There is no way to defend an indefensible action. As horrible as these action were, totally mystified as to why this was included in her book until I realized her actions of puppy and goat killing were witnessed by the gravel pit workers and potentially a school bus driver. My god - Noems family explains why she is a psychopath.
As if murdering her puppy for being too excitable on a hunting trip and acting like a bird dog with chickens running around in front of her and biting Noem, when I'm sure she was only trying to protect herself from Noem's anger and treatment of her (or trying to take a chicken out of her mouth), and then murdering the goat, too, wasn't bad enough. Noem also tells the story of her Dad playing a "prank" on his disabled friend by telling him they gad hunted squirrels and cooked them for him, when he had killed the man's own pet cat and fed it to him. The whole family is a bunch of psychopaths obviously. That she would think either of those stories reflect in her in a good light or would recommend her as VP for this Country. As a Republican, this book does apparently it does reflect well on her - she is a pathological liar and a psychopath (a murderer of animals because it makes her feel strong and powerful - not for any valid reason at all). The dog could have been trained by someone with skill and patience, retrained to be someones pet instead of a farm animal or hunting dog or taken to a shelter for them to find a home or training for it. The goat and yes, the older horses (they no longer had a use for that weren't in the book but she told about killing on the News) could have been rehomed to a sanctuary for unwanted farm animals. They exist where kind people care for, feed and love unwanted elderly or disabled animals until they die natural deaths or become fatally ill and are euthanized by a veterinarian in the kindest way possible so they do not suffer, with those who care for them near. They are animals, but they have intelligence, emotions and feelings, too.
Narcissists, sociopaths & psychopaths are drawn to positions of authority, such as careers in politics. Noem’s behavior is just one more predictable example.

Anyone who has had a dog knows that all they really want to do is please you. From the first time you teach them to fetch and they bring back the stick they're usually greeted with 'good boy, great job' maybe not so much when they bring back a lawn ornament, but you get the idea. They'll usually drop the stick at your feet with a slight bow and their but in the air, tail wagging like a high tempo metronome "was that good? Did i do good?..." and on this familiar story a loving bond is built. I can't imagine the horror Cricket must have felt after seemingly grabbing the concept of fetching birds, only to be led to a gravel pit by the one you're trying to please and suddenly shot in the face. What kind of a monster would do this?

About the publisher: according to their Linkedin "Center Street Publishing is a paperback publisher with an emphasis on memoirs and uncommonly colorful stories", and they have published books by luminaries such as Newt Gingrich, Vivek Ramaswamy, Ben Carson, Andy Ngo and Riley Gaines. Those guys don't fact check for s***, they can't do it. If they did, they wouldn't have a business.

I once interviewed for a web dev job at Regnery Publishing. That's a *_real_* conservative publisher. An old school, respectable established business concern located in a prominent location in Washington D.C. (Across the intersection from Union Station in an old granite building.)
Whoever is printing out bound copies of whatever these people are selling could hardly be called a publishing house. It's more like the place where they churn out those instruction cards about how to use your seat as a flotation device and how to locate the barf bag. A junk printer.

I am always curious to see the straw that broke the camels back regarding what is going on in the world.
