It's not just Seventeen though. We see that in NU'EST as well. Which means it really is just a Pledis thing to make sure to pick debuting members who have what it takes AND have each one be the first to step up and say "my members are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I will do my best to do whatever I can for them." It reminds me of a time when NU'EST was out promoting in the streets as rookies and Baekho came across an English speaker from New York. He didn't hesitate to call for Aron (even though Aron is not from New York, but to be fair to Baekho, if I was in a group with someone from York and I found someone from South Hampton, I'd be calling for the member from York. I have no idea if they're close to each other, but I know they're both in England and that's close enough for me). Aron was not the first one to show up. Minhyun showed up first despite barely knowing English because he thought Baekho needed help. We see the exact same kind of thing in Seventeen all the time. And now, after watching these kids grow for four months, I'm fairly confident to say they're following in both Seventeen and NU'EST's footsteps. And TWS reminds me a lot of NU'EST, personality-wise.
