Thanks for making this video. I agree that there’s a lot of stigma about WPG downtown but it’s as bad and as good as any other downtown of a North American city. What matters is that it’s getting revitalized slowly but steadily and it has a lot of potential to become one of the best places to live in WPG.
Most of the fear that people have of city downtowns is manufactured by media. Suburbanites and rural people really think that the stuff they see in movies and crime shows on TV is real, when it's grotesquely exaggerated. They come downtown and see one homeless person or some burnout hanging around a corner, or get asked for a loonie by a panhandler and then run screaming back to their "safe" suburbs where there are ten times as many drug dealers, addicts and alcoholics, but they are living in houses. I reality, the violent crime rate in the downtowns of Canadian big cities is LOWER than in many small cities and towns. I live in one of those "sketchy" neighbourhoods. Yesterday, I was sitting outdoors at my favourite cafe, and an old man collapsed on the sidewalk. He was poorly dressed and looked like a "bum." People quickly stopped to help and, seeing that he couldn't get up, phoned for help. Police and ambulance came quickly, and treated him with kindness and dignity. Someone working in a pizza place nearby came out and gave him a slice while he was lying on the gurney. The cop wrapped it up so he could eat it when he reached the hospital. People in our neighbourhood care for each other. I can't say the same for some small towns I've lived in, which were full of bigotry and snobbery.
hey man, love your videos, super good, i actually live just in the next building to yours, if you ever need help with filming or something lmk, i could help with filming and holding the camera or something no charge of course why not lmk!
Nice Video. I've lived in Downtown 'Peg before and it was a positive experience. Bad Things can happen literally anywhere. Mind your business and use common sense and you'll be fine. Definitely not "The Hood", although as you said, Point Douglas and North Main should probably be avoided now.
Downtown Winnipeg sucks man. Homeless, drugies, and some crazy people lurking around the area. I would say Calgary, Montreal and Quebec city by far one of the safest city Canada.
it’s insane seeing the progressive upgrade in editing and quality of your videos. keep doing what you’re doing man
We keep striving for growth! 💪🏽
Thank you bro!🔥
The editing is 💯
🚀🚀
Finally, somebody who appreciates downtown just as much as I do. Keep up the good work
Thank you!!💯
Solid video, I moved from there but would love to see it continue developing. The passion with the people is almost unmatched Canada-wide.
🚀🚀🚀

I bet you probably come down here once a month
Have you seen downtown... Anywhere else?
Why the stigma regarding the native people? Is it because their land and way of life was encroached upon by the europeans?
I would truly love to answer this if only I knew. My knowledge on it isn’t very broad.
