- Get an up-close look at the February 2025 Quilting Life Block of the Month. Visit Sherri's blog for the free PDF pattern for this month's block. This year's pattern will consist of 18-inch log cabin blocks with 6-inch centerpieces that will change each month. There will also be an option to finish a quilt with just the 6-inch centerpieces. Thank you, Sherri, for a long cabin BOM. I do enjoy making smaller blocks, but also like the log cabin look, so will try to downsize the center blocks so I can still surround it with the log cabin, ending up with 1/2 the size block as yours. Wish me luck!
I just want to say thank you. Have been unmotivated about quilting for a while. Log cabin is my favourite. Your added inner block has just got my motivation to quilt started again. Thanks Sherri❤

I didn't look back to see if I commented last month but wanted to say I love houses & I love log cabins!!! Still deciding whether to sew along each month or wait a few months to see the center blocks. I may do the houses as each center 💗💗

I may change my mind, download the pattern, and Join Along! Not sure... but I AM snowed in/iced in over here in the Fraser Valley, B.C. Canada...so I can't go out... but I can sew!

I am collecting all the info for when I get Raspberry summer fabrics :). I'll be behind but its for me so technically, I'll be right on time :)
Question - Is the House block the only one that is directional? This will help us when considering the various Log Cabin block layouts. 🙃
I take it the house block will be the only directional picture block. Without knowing this we or at least I can’t envision placement of the unknown. Which may be why mystery block quilts intimidate me so much.
Remember you can always move the blocks around in the layout, they don't HAVE to be in month order. So if a block needs to be one direction it can change position with another block and be happy there! ❤ so you can freely piece your blocks and solve any problems when you assemble them! This is supposed to be fun! 😊
How many blocks will be directional? I enjoy your blocks within blocks.
Thank you for February Block. I did get January‘s done and have anxiously been waiting for February. I have a question, can I do these blocks as a Quilt as you go since I use my domestic machine to Quilt them?

Good morning! I’m going to use Raspberry Summer for this BOM. I just checked the Fatquarter status of my order…it now says shipping in March…..😢😢😢. Do you think it will be February? I don’t want to get too behind….
I am also waiting for the new collection . We are leaving for two months the end of February and I was hoping to take it with me . 😢😢😢
You all who are waiting on fabric to arrive, just do a sample block using scraps you have on hand until your fabrics arrives! These are quick enough to do extras so you'll have extra blocks for small projects or another quilt to share!🎉

How do I get started on this block of the month?
Do you think one jelly roll will be enough for the log cabin part of the quilt if I use stash for center of block?
One thing to think about if using a Jelly Roll is, that you need to have a certain amount of Lights...and a certain number of Darks, for the pattern...
Where can I get the fabric fir your block of the month?
I have an apple phone and cannot get google to print, what do I need to do? Thanks

If a block is directional I wouldn’t want it upside down because I chose the finishing design in advance of completion.
