Grand Voyagers this literally happened to me and my crew. we were just on our phones late at night in the middle of the ocean and the big boy decided to spawn on us
It would be even more terrifying if the water steadily turned black while the bass was playing. Just imagine your boat slowly coming to a halt, the water morphing into nothing but an inky abyss. And then... you hear it emerging. The writhing, bloodthirsty horror that has claimed so many pirate lives... has fixed its hungering gaze on your vessel as its next meal.

If you see videos of it, part of the time, when it appears correctly, it does turn the water black on cue with the bass, although, it turns the water in a wave, from one side of it's radius to the other, but I agree it would be way cooler if it turned the water all at once, and faded it to black, all the more terrifying.
Me and my two other friends took down a megalodon and the one jumped to grab the loot and out came a Kraken and we killed that too. This was actual the other day
I one time saw a crew get attacked in the distance by the Kraken. My crew and I decided to be chill and lend them a hand. As soon as we got close, the ship started shooting at us instead of the Kraken. I couldn't tell if they were being paranoid or just that bloodthirsty. Either way, they probably wouldn't have sunk had they kept focusing on the Kraken
Kraken would rather attqck you if you're drunk, playing some instruments or other things like that bcs then the game classifies you as not ready for a fight so kraken can suprise attqck you
So this is a long story So my 3 friends and I just got done with a skull fort and we head out to sell our stuff. One friend says “Hold on lemme get drunk.” So I said “I swear to god if a kraken attacks while ur drunk imma be pissed.” Another friend of mine says “What the hell...? So I go up on deck and lo and behold the water is black and ambient music is playing. So I yell “I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN DAMN IT.” So we lost all of that loot because the kraken is impossible to defeat on a galleon, especially since one of us was drunk.
@@BrawlerDonna yeah but kraken on a sloop solo is honestly easier than megaladons most of the time, just equip eye of reach and blunderbuss and if you hear the kraken make a sound it's usually starting an attack so you gotta run to the back of the ship inside so it can't succ and basically just repair and shoot
BrainDeadKenny there are 3 events in game, a skull fort, a skeleton fleet and the kraken, it’s a one in six chance you get attacked and that’s why it attacked when the lobby was empty
BrainDeadKenny The Kraken attacks one of the first ships sailing on the open seas after the last world event ended, whether someone completes them or they time out. I've had the same thing happen, my crew had literally just started playing and we left the outpost we spawned in, not even 30 seconds later we get attacked by the Kraken. Always check for active world events before setting sail if you don't want to face the Kraken...
I remember the first time I came into contact with the kraken I was sailing to go pick up two chest All of a sudden my boat stops while I was looking at the map I decide to walk out on deck to see the water was black and thought to myself, "huh that's weird" and then tenticals sprung up out of the water and all I could think was, Shiiiiiiiiiit- Right before ending up in the bottom of the ocean
You are all pretty much right if there is no skull or ship cloud in the sky a Kraken spawns and it is random who it attacks but you have to on the water that's a bit deep (obviously) but who it attacks is random but it increases your chances depending if you have more loot
I was playing with my friends and we were purposely driving into the Red Sea to kill ourselves to get a new ship at an outpost. The kraken spawned and killed us. *_task failed successfully_*
When me and my friends encountered the kraken my friend was joking around saying “Why’s the water turning black” and 10 seconds later the kraken spawns and we had no idea what to do and just screamed for 5 minutes before it claimed are ship
Love this track, however i've always said they should replace the Kraken music with the fort music, and vice versa. Personally I think this music fits a skeleton fort much better!
Nah this fits the Kraken best period. Mainly because of the suspenseful part that plays.. which THIS guy hasn't recorded... either that or this is the official OST and that part just isn't included, only in the actual GAME.
If it were the other way around, IE: if you were tasked with defending a fort from skeleton ships, then that ominous opening would be appropriate. But if that played while YOU were attacking, it wouldn't feel right at all.

Argh! My recent encounters with krakens as a solo slooper has only yielded about 2 pieces of loot after taking down 3 tentacles. I look for the areas where the tentacles die and can only find loot in 1 out of the 3 spots. Compared to soloing a Meg, soloing a kraken feels underwhelming.
I’m pretty sure that’s what happens, seeing as how krakens are canonically different colors depending on the specimen, and the one we fight is always pink/green
@@captainmulroy365 The game events run in cycles. When skull fort (or a skelly galleon) is up. The Kraken can't spawn. Ever notice how you tend to get attacked right after doing a fort? That's why.

I was sailing to do a gold hoarder vault quest. When I got back I had no planks beacause a ship attacked me. And of course then water turns black and Squidward popped up.
my friends and i were getting chased by a reaper brig and we had our dive pulled up but they were always just too close, imagine our laughter and relief when we see that brig slow down and tentacles surround it as we're almost in the red sea.

EDIT: 15TH KRAKEN SOLO! EDIT: Ive stopped playing this game, but hey, i killed 45 krakens in all.
To be fair the kraken is almost not a challenge to a sloop with a decent amount of supplies, Try that thing on a galleon or brig where it covers up the staircase preventing you from repairing or bucketing for up to one minute.

I love his in this game there can be just a peacefull song as the Sun rises, then the song cuts, a part of the song plays and after a short silence you See some monstrocity attacking you as the song progresses
Flashback to that time me & my friend got 4 chests from a message in a bottle on the same voyage we were doing a merchant quest and had got the fucking chickens loaded up with the chests AND some storage crates we had found on the island, only for The Kraken to rock up and destroy our ship.
When I got the game I was obsessed with the kraken I just wanted to see it, And when I actually saw it I was so damm happy but my cannons did nothing to this magnificent beast so I just watched how my ship sunk while the legendary kraken hold me with his glorious tentacles ( this kinda sounds like a hentai xd )
Honestly it was less scary when it didnt attack as often but now it's like if I wanna just solo sloop and go fish somewhere theres a chance this bastard will stop me on the way everytime and that is truly frightening
@@vickymarieleon8108 I was athenas guardian before you could get athenas xp from killing them and the ship customizations you get for the commendations arent too appealing to me. So I've almost never had any reason to stay and fight them unless I needed gold that badly lol.
Personally, I think they should add another kraken the was named the "Mother of Krakens" or something and it is extremely rare and super hard to beat, yet the loot is even better. The current Kraken music would be replaced with something less ominous and more epic, while the Mother of Krakens would adopt this song. I feel like at this point the kraken is less of an obstacle and more of an annoyance, yet this Mother of Krakens would be a tough challenge and would be more of an unescapable obstacle.
Casey De Luca That can’t happen, because the kraken you are describing, a bigger more powerful kraken, would be exactly like the Old Mother, which if you learned the lore you would have realized that it was killed by the Ancients a long time ago. Good idea though, and I wish it could be a thing, but it is not going to happen. :(

Every time I attempt to do a tall tales the stupid kraken shows up and totally weeks my day, the truth is iv'e never killed it because it took me by surprise.
I was playing with a random person and we had some very good loot then kraken came and we both were pretty new to the game so we didn't know how to fight with it. We just put all the loot in a rowboat and rowed to the closest outpost one navigated and one rowed it took a very long time but it was a lot of fun.

A tip i have for you is. Disconnect and join a new game because the only decent thing you recieve from a kraken is kraken meat. Its not worth your life.
Recently I had a heart attack moment. We had tons of treasure after a long grind (I was playing with friends on Discord), and suddenly this theme kicked in and the Dicord connection broke up. We somehow survived but it was a shock...
The first time I encountered the kraken, me and my bud were solo slooping. We saw a skeleton sloop coming mighty close to the outpost we JUST started at..so we decided "Yeah we can take him on." So we go out to go and face our skeletal adversary..and during the ensuing naval battle, the water turns inky black, and I get my first up close glimpse of the kraken. I was terrified, lol.
Don't you just love it when the event timer runs out and you're conveniently the only ship on the open ocean?

The Kraken tests if your good at team cooperation, Cannon Aiming and making sure you have enough supplies to even survive

That’s what I did when I was trying to get kraken for a commendation. When the water turned black I just screamed “KRAKEN! KRAKEN! KRAKEEEEEEN!!!”
I love his in this game there can be just a peacefull song as the Sun rises, then the song cuts, a part of the song plays and after a short silence you See some monstrocity attacking you as the song progresses

When I got the game I was obsessed with the kraken I just wanted to see it, And when I actually saw it I was so damm happy but my cannons did nothing to this magnificent beast so I just watched how my ship sunk while the legendary kraken hold me with his glorious tentacles ( this kinda sounds like a hentai xd )

@@vickymarieleon8108 I was athenas guardian before you could get athenas xp from killing them and the ship customizations you get for the commendations arent too appealing to me. So I've almost never had any reason to stay and fight them unless I needed gold that badly lol.
THIS is a really cool boss fight and thanks to shrouded spoils it's hard as hell.
We just defeated it yesterday, after a Skeleton Fort Event. It wasn't very hard and it dropped so much good loot!
Depending on the ship your on and how many ships are in the black water the difficulty is
Personally, I think they should add another kraken the was named the "Mother of Krakens" or something and it is extremely rare and super hard to beat, yet the loot is even better. The current Kraken music would be replaced with something less ominous and more epic, while the Mother of Krakens would adopt this song. I feel like at this point the kraken is less of an obstacle and more of an annoyance, yet this Mother of Krakens would be a tough challenge and would be more of an unescapable obstacle.
Casey De Luca That can’t happen, because the kraken you are describing, a bigger more powerful kraken, would be exactly like the Old Mother, which if you learned the lore you would have realized that it was killed by the Ancients a long time ago. Good idea though, and I wish it could be a thing, but it is not going to happen. :(

Every time I attempt to do a tall tales the stupid kraken shows up and totally weeks my day, the truth is iv'e never killed it because it took me by surprise.
I was playing with a random person and we had some very good loot then kraken came and we both were pretty new to the game so we didn't know how to fight with it. We just put all the loot in a rowboat and rowed to the closest outpost one navigated and one rowed it took a very long time but it was a lot of fun.
When I first encounter the kraken I was playing for the first time with my friends who knew a bit about the game and I’m just like why do I here boss music

The kraken may not seem scary but every time i see the water go black it sends a chill down my spine and scares half the shit out of me
A tip i have for you is.
Disconnect and join a new game because the only decent thing you recieve from a kraken is kraken meat.

I never left a game this fast before
The first time I encountered the kraken, me and my bud were solo slooping. We saw a skeleton sloop coming mighty close to the outpost we JUST started at..so we decided "Yeah we can take him on." So we go out to go and face our skeletal adversary..and during the ensuing naval battle, the water turns inky black, and I get my first up close glimpse of the kraken. I was terrified, lol.
