I would like to share my recent bad experience. I had booked my flight on 4th April with Etihad Airways. On 4th April when I reached the check-in counter the person over there asked for documents. I gave him my passport, Fee receipt and LOA. He asked me for enrollment letter which i was not having so i showed him my E-mail which my college had sent me which contains my student number and my college starting date. He took photo and sent the photo to someone through whatsapp. After few minutes he told me ' I am sorry sir you cannot board the flight because you are going too early' (my college starts at 17 May and i was departing at 4 April). I went back home disappointed. My home is 350 Km away from Airport ( Ahmedabad to Valsad). Total cost of travelling 4000Rs (approx). After coming back home i called Etihad Airways customer care and asked them why are they checking my eligibility to board the flight at the Airport, according to my knowledge only the immigration officer has the right to do that. The person at customer care told that the person at the check-in has the authority to check your eligibility. Before booking tickets you must check weather you are eligible. I thought she was right. I accepted i was travelling too early.
One of my friend came to know about this and asked me to advice one of his friend who was travelling on 8th April. Her college was starting on 17TH May. She was travelling through Air India. I told her what happened with me and advised accordingly.
Today I came to know that she has landed in Canada. No Question were asked to her. Just normal regular formalities regarding Documents. ( I am really happy that she did not have to suffer the kind of Disappointment and the feeling of sadness that I went through).
The person at the check-in counter added a NO SHOW status, meaning I did not arrive at the Airport. I complained about It by providing Feedback to Etihad Airways. And here is the reply I got:-

I have checked the history of your reservation and I was able to confirm that the picture of your college acceptance email was sent to the Canadian Immigration authorities through an internal hotline in order to gain approval to accept you on board. As the document was not deemed satisfactory by the immigration officer who reviewed the request, our agents were unfortunately unable to accept you on flight EY289.
Also, I can see you mentioned you were marked as no-show even if you had reported to the airport on time for your flight. Whilst we can certainly understand your situation, no-show fees apply to all guests who do not board the flight for which they have a confirmed reservation or fail to inform the airline in advance (before the departure of the flight) that they will not travel as ticketed. This is in line with Article 5 of the Etihad Airways Conditions of Carriage.
Considering the situation, we recommend you contact your travel insurance provider as they may be able to assist you further and offer you a reimbursement of any additional cost incurred.

I had to reschedule my flight. They cut Rs 23000 (aprox). The cost of new flight was Rs 69,118. I had to pay 37,858 and rescheduled the flight. So in total 4000+23000= 27000 is the amount of loss i had to bear. The flight cost me Rs 55,200 after rescheduling the flight i had to pay another Rs 38,585 because the cost of another flight was Rs 69,118. So 55,200+37,585= 92,785.
I am REQUESTING you to share my experience so that people can be careful and make proper decision before travelling to Canada and also which flight they should be booking.

18th of September I have got my PPR request (Alhamdulillah)through my September 2022 LOA and submitted for visa. Sir my visa got stampped. But now after booking flight Northern College revoked me , stating that due to more visa approvals , seats are in shortage. I contacted the college but they denied to deffer and change the course . And this has happened with lots of students. I have applied for sept 22 intake but my visa is delayed and I have to differ my intake to next sept 23 because my course is competitive and it is only open for sept intake . Now after differing uni. is not confirming about secure admission in sept 23 instead they says that they will re validate my application among the pull of sept 23 . I am confused what should I do ? Shall I inform IRCC about my different ? While that impact my visa timeline ? I went to Canada for study permit and attended 1st semester but due to family emergency situation, I had to return back to India and I refunded my fees for 2nd semester. Now I got new offer letter at new province, new DLI for next upcoming intake. Now I am outside Canada and took withdraw from the previous college. Shall I update IRCC via transfer DLI option or should I need to re-filling again for new study application ?

So I have received my ppr request on 25 Feb and I was supposed to start college on 7 January. Since I haven’t got the ppr on time I had no option but to defer my course and unfortunately my college only had 2 intakes I.e January & September and I was not able to secure September so I have no choice but to accept January 2023 and now I have Already got my passport stamped(issue date-25 February 2022 expires on-31 December 2023) now my new deferred course will end on August 2024 in that case what should I do? Am I supposed to reapply for new visa and send back for new stamping. Pls help

@@Ziewi hi after some research and contacting few people I come to the conclusion that you don’t need to do anything much just send a web form to IRCC to inform you deferred your course and after reaching Canada once your visa a about expire apply for an extension for study permit that’s sit. And also I had to get medical done again since it expires in 1 year

Hello sir, I have my passport stamped for previous DLI but I had to change it due to refund policy, so right now i have new LOA for other DLI, so what about previous visa i got? And what is the further process and which fees i need to pay for new study permit application?? Please guide sir

I applied for the may intake at alpha college and in month of march i got mail from the college that they can not provide me the seat for may intake and they gave me some options regarding deferment so I went for the September intake and after some ten days of that mail i got my ppr and now they are not even providing me seat for September intake. So sir should i change my college now ?

Hello Sir,
I had applied in centennial College for fall 22 intake and lodged my visa on 28 April and still awaiting for ppr. Last date to register or defer is 13 September and next intake for my course is September 23. I am thinking of changing the college for jan 23.
-if i get my ppr after changing my college will this ppr will be valid for changed college or i have to apply for new one?
IRCC says :
If you change your DLI before coming to Canada and you don’t let us know, you won’t be allowed to board your flight.
You can tell us you changed your DLI by submitting a new letter of acceptance using the IRCC web form.
If your application for a study permit has been approved and you change your DLI, you must submit a new study permit application with a new letter of acceptance. You must also pay all the fees for the new application.
You don’t need a representative to change your DLI in your online account, even if you used one to apply for your study permit initially. You just need the study permit application details.
What is the issue with sep 23 by the way?
As per rules no. After getting visa u cannot travel with different dli

Hlo sir.. I m in a big prblm.. Actually I applied for M COLLEGE QUEBEC. and after 1.5 year I got my visa in November 2021 and my consultant told me that the college will provide me the LOA in January so that i can travel but before getting LOA the college got BANQURUPTED and there was not any other option for me so i applied in another college with different program for MAY 2022 and decided to change the DLI number and travel with the previous visa I got. So is it a problem..? If I will travel with that visa..?
Because I have genuine explanation for whatever happen.
So according to you would they understand and listen to my valid reasons for doing so and provide me the study permit..?
