I use 3.5 TC carp rods as my go to Bass rods, with a 1 or 2 oz round weight and a 6ft trace to allow the bait (Sandeel or peeler) to wash around in the surf. Hook the Sandeel as if it were live bait and sett the ratchet or drag on the reel because they take off like steam trains. No need to retire the Carp rods Rich!
